3D Text

I wanted to use some 3D text in my DAZ animation.
I thought it would be straight forward to export 3D text from Hexagon to DAZ, but the text looks distorted in DAZ.
How can I use 3D text in DAZ?
BTW - My copy of Bryce is not working.
Thanks.

Can you explain why your Bryce 7 is not working.
I am not able to access my materials editor for some reason.
I have been told I may have malware.
Is there a "work around" so that I can use 3D text in DS?
Thanks.
Hex text can be inconsistent.
Try a different font and maybe a different export format (3ds, obj, etc). Even try "smoothing" the mesh before export.
Or another modeler? There's a few good free ones like Wings 3D or Blender.
Good Luck with it.
As I recall, Hexagon gives each letter a single polygon for the front and back of the character. 3Delight, and many other render engines, don't like that sort of ploygon. The simplest fix would be to triangulate the mesh before export; a more elegant solution would be to manually break the letter form into quads by splitting.
I always have better luck creating with Cararra when I want to do 3D letters.
you could always download the trial version and create some letters in that if you don't own a version of Carrara.
Anim8or is resource-light and does 3D text pretty well for most TTF fonts. Automatically triangulates and everything.
I have and use FMEC for such things... It works pretty well for me.

Hey everyone. This is my first time posting here but in regards to 3D text in Daz Studio, this is what I did:
I created text in this FREE program called Elefont. I then saved it as a Bryce DXF, opened it in Bryce, made it positive, and then EXPORTED it as an OBJ. I then imported it into Studio 4.6 and voila! This is the result!
The only thing I hate is that I can't texture it in Studio. I tried texturing it in Bryce and exporting the maps that way but still no luck. You can find Elefont at armanisoft.ch or just search for Elefont. Hope this helps!
just export it as an obj in settinhs export as daz and then just import it back ib your scene. I use daz text and letters (freebies on sharecg and renderosity) or use daz real logo... I like to animate my text and use as cover title as well.
My guess is that this probably got sorted out 6 years ago, one way or another.
