...as I understand the blank viewport had something to do with OpenGL compatibility. Mine is right at the bottom of the application's requirement which is probably why I can actually work with 4.5. Still have to go slow and work predominantly in simple/basic shaded mode when loading, arranging and posing.
Yeah, a dedicated GPU more RAM and faster CPU with more cores will most definitely help the cause but I am still amazed at how fast the latest 3Delight is. I don't ever think I've had a full 800 x 800 render complete in less than a minute (particularly with IBL lighting) save for rendering with just the basic preview lights and no shadows.
Hmm, not really. The Bryce forum is actually one of the ones I post in the least, it is a very well behaved forum, and they rarely need me to do much. Too many guru's posting there regularly, and they love helping the Bryce newbies.
You are still creeping up on me, slowly but surely.
...gosharootie! Just noticed I got me third little green box.
I Feel The POWER!!!!!!!
SEE! You all saw that right? She canceled my post with a post of her own.
...umm, not sure yet. [opens it cautiously]
I must have some obssesive condition.
cannot stop mucking around with that dreamhouse.
I loaded the entire dreamhouse via fbx from studio one bit at a time into iClone and it all loads fully textured I presume in wireframe but trying to bring up the quickshading ground my computer to a halt, iClone is using 5.5Gb of RAM in task manager and doing nothing (not responding)
it really does not like lots of big textures!
and yes, I can do massive models in bits in it if I use simple shaders in it, getting it in in bits the secret, as I said, untextured the bits load fine then using proceedural iClone materials can use it as a set to walk around, open doors etc.
got me thinking, Daz studio a similar thing may work, using just colours for animation.
and LOL! Windows just told me it has not got enough resources to run the Aero interface!!
You convinced me. I'm NOT going to try a Full DH load now. I will when I expand my ram, I have the chips but need a tech to install them for me.
My mum has crap in a litter box sometimes in her bathroom. It all depends on Oscar and when it got cleaned last.
I am trying to picture how big 100,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 is. That is ten to the fiftieth power.
oh dear what shall I do now
this is in iClone which is GPU based with realtime graphics, studio copes fine in wireframe and renders it albeit slowley with the CPU
as does Carrara and Poser but quicker!
I need to work in wireframe with it in Carrara to do animation ie pose, move figures around and cameras, but it renders fine.
but it does load textured.
studio you might just have to live with wireframe for setting up.
...writing out ten to the Googul power wouldn't fit here, it wouldn't even fit in the known universe.
...talk about serious writer's cramp...
...currently downloading all of the stuff bought during the week. Didn't realise Jade Hair was so "big".
...and I'm still on the "Legacy" files.
...writing out ten to the Googul power wouldn't fit here, it wouldn't even fit in the known universe.
...talk about serious writer's cramp...
So the number I am thinking of is half a Googul.
...actually nowhere near that as that is not how exponential powers work (e'g' 100 [10^2] is not 1/2 of 10,000 [10^4]). Every exponent value is ten multiplied by itself: 10^2: 10 x 10 =100, 10^3: 10 x 10 (100) x10 = 1,000, 10^4: 10 x 10 (100) x10 (1,000) x 10 = 10,000, etc.
So a 1 with 50 zeroes is ten multiplied by itself 50 times over.
A googul is 10^100. or 1 with 100 zeros after it is ten multiplied by itself 100 times over:
A GoogolPlex (10^[googul]) is 10^(10^100), one with a googol zeroes after it - a ridiculously huge number
So the number I am thinking of is half a Googul.
No, it's the square root of a Googol
...and Graham's Number (the largest number ever used in a serious mathematical proof) leaves a Googolplex in the dust.
So the number I am thinking of is half a Googul.
No, it's the square root of a Googol
oh yeah. Thanks
What is the universe's age?
A googulplex is a large number but it is no where near infinity. Infinity is bigger than ten to the googluplex power.
What is the universe's age?
13-14 billion years
OK so it's not just my bad memory, your avatar did have hair! Phew.
Sorry I didn't catch this sooner, but you don't need the Legacy files for Genesis items -- those would be for 4.0.3
What is the universe's age?

... :cheese:
unless there is a $ sign in front and it is on a bank statement with my name on it, all those numbers with 1's and 0's do not impress me.
So someone being at least 100,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 years old is not impressive. Oh wait the universe has only been around 13 to 14 billion years. Well this character is addicted to time travel. Also this is the future self while there is a present self that is much, much younger. He has lived many lives in as many galaxies as he knows about. He went back into time as early as he could many times in many locations across the known universe but that was not enough. He always tried to find new places to discover. (he is also one of the reasons why humans are spread across the whole universe. Well I had to have some in story excuse why there are so many humans across the universe.)
I think your number is a bit high for this purpose -- if you're restricting him to this universe, as opposed to a string of sequential universes, that makes him old enough to not only live from the big bang to the heat death of the universe repeatedly, but for him to BE every multi-celled organism in the universe.
