Poser V4 skin presets don't load on G2F?

I hope the title of the thread wasn't too confusing.
Anyhow, I bought a bunch of the V4 characters (ie. MA Narika) from the RDNA sale. My main issue is that the pz2 material presets don't work even if G2F has its UVs changed to V4.
Is there a way to get the presets to work, since adding the mats manually is time consuming? For reference, I ran into a similar issue with a Genesis product that had a mat-apply script not working on G2F despite the UV being set to V5.
edit: I should also say that I have the V4 auto-skin converter, but it just creates a DUF file for the preset... I don't want to resort to the converter, especially if there's an easy way for me to fix this :)

V4 skins won't apply to G2F unless a) the presets are duf, or b) the matzones are changed to the G2F equivalents in the preset's code itself.
The first option is the easiest and best for DS compatibility, especially if you plan on using them on G3F at all (would require Cayman Studios' V4 UVs for G3F from Rendo).
Oooh, that's interesting. I didn't know that changing the UV to V4 didn't change the matzone names... I wonder if I could just text-edit the pz2 files.
You could, but I'd go with this free script by D3D that does it for you. Includes both a Poser and DS version. http://d3d.sesseler.de/index.php?software=dazscript&product=gen4g2mat
The result won't be as pretty as using the batch converter, it will process multiple files @ once, but it wont copy thumbnails or anything, nor will it change the file extension/type. It will append _G2 to the end of the new presets.

For what it's worth, I used to use the script above, but migrated to Draagonstorm's batch converter and haven't went back.
Hah! I thought I purchased the skin converter, but I guess not. I suppose I'll have to use this script then, thanks :)
Another way to do it is to load V4, apply the presets...then save NEW duf presets (File > Save As > Material Preset).
That's actually not a bad idea. I haven't had V4 installed on my system for a long time now -- for a lack of use! -- so maybe it's time to dust off the figure for this purpose. :)
The only problem with the V4 > Save method is that you have to do it per preset. If you're using 1 or 2, it's fine, but if you want to convert an entire character set with dozens of options it's tedious and time consuming.
