I find that the Age of Armour Advanced lights don't seem to be working (none of the usual parameters are available when loaded). I copied the shaders from the 4.8 folder, but this didn't help. Am I overlooking something, or is this not expected to work in the beta?
I still get this error on a Phenom II X6 with 4.9.3.128, reported.
DAZStudio.exe caused ILLEGAL_INSTRUCTION in module "C:\Program Files\DAZ 3D\DAZStudio4 Public Build\libs\iray\libneuray.dll" at 0033:00000000CF503E68, mi_neuray_factory()+7414008 byte(s)
i have had the same error with the last 3 iterations of the beta release, soon as an Iray render is started, DS crashes with the same error.
Anyone know if profiles of real world lens exists to take advantage of this:
"
Added basic support for accessing lens and aperture settings; added a “Lens” property group to cameras when Iray is the active renderer; properties include Lens Radial Bias, Lens Shift X (mm), Lens Shift Y (mm), Lens Stereo Offset (mm), Lens Distortion Type (spherical, cylindrical, stereo, etc), Lens Distortion K1/2/3, Lens Distortion Scale, Aperture Blades, Aperture Blade Rotation
What am I missing? I've tried to install 4.9.3.128 in parallel w/ 4.2.9.70.
I have "Public Beta Content 1 DS" ( which is a placeholder) showing in my Installed tab in DIN, but where is the actual app, or what else do I need to do>
4.9.3.117 and 4.9.3.128 both load genesis 3 so much slower than 4.9.3.71 and 4.9.2.70. The "reading asset" dialog closes at about 30s but the figure doesn't appear in the viewport for another 40s, whereas in 4.9.3.71 and 4.9.2.70 the dialog closes in 5s and the figure appears in another 5s. Please clean this up. I wish I could roll back to 4.9.3.71 but I didn't save it... such a big gap since the last public build I thought for sure it would be a safe bet lol

I've also noticed that renders start - well rendering - much, much faster than previously; instead of a minute at least, if is not around 15 seconds. This is from scratch, not with a render window open from a previous render.
Well i've kept checking back once a day for any update since getting a 1080 and realising Daz Iray doesn't support it just yet... I almost pawned off the GTX 980 to my brother before remembering it's added on top when rendering to make it faster!
Any idea what sort of increase i'm likely to see? Say a render takes an hour on the 980, is a combined 980 & 1080 looking to slice a quarter off? Third? Half? Or is it wholly dependant on the render in question? ;)

Wholly dependant on the render in question. Iray (Windows) does support the 1080 (Pascal), but it needs the latest NVIDIA drivers.

I mean on the current version 4.9.2.70, the 1080 isn't used with Iray when checked, so i've left it unchecked for the time being. I'm tempted to try the beta out but the way it uses a seperate copy of the library sounds like a headache, and I don't want to mess up the "main" one...!

What seperate copy of the library? The beta installs independently to the general release version, and you'll have to specify your content paths in the beta release.

Oh... so I can just link to the current libraries i'm using? Maaaaan.....
Yes :) You would just need to specify your current content directories in Content Directory Manager if you are not using the deault ones.
Got it - I installed the Beta last night and had a play around with it. It actually seemed to pick up my current directories without me having to point it in the right direction.
Render times are great now, though; testing small ~15 minute renders with the GTX980 (I don't do the more hardcore "entire weekend" renders :P), the difference is anywhere from 5 minutes off to cut in half. Longer renders (1hr+) with multiple figures are anywhere from 15% to 40% chopped off the total time. Great stuff!
I know here you speak about DAZ Studio PRO Beta version only, but, as in come from, actually from my account, I can install DAZStudio_4.9.2.70 but not 4.9.3..
I know also that 4.9.3 is always in BETA.
Anyway, it seems that the beta 4.9.3.x fix the issue with AutoLogin !
Then, can we expect a 4.9.3 version soon in Stable branch instead of BETA ? :)

I'm guessing here...
There is a known bug in the version of Iray currently in the beta. The workaround uses "verbose" and puts a lot of comments in the log file. I would expect DAZ to wait until that bug is fixed before they update the release version, unless Nvidia has that fix on the back burner. Of course, there are a lot of other things being worked on in the Beta. You won't see a new release until DAZ feels the Beta is stable. I know of one issue with displacement, too, that I expect they'll want fixed before a new Release comes out.

The biggest two issues are the older CPU crash and the issue with not seeing the video cards properly on a Mac...

OMG OMG OMG, is that mean I CAN FINALLY USE MY GTX 1060 in Daz Studio ??
LOL... Yes.

Which of the AoA Advanced Lights?
When is the final software update going to be released? And what are the changes aside from being able to run Gtx 10 series? :)
Tried all of ambient, spot, and distant - no parameters except brightness appear.
Nobody knows WHEN...there are still several issues that will need to be addressed before an update is released.
i have had the same error with the last 3 iterations of the beta release, soon as an Iray render is started, DS crashes with the same error.

Try uninstalling and reinstalling. I've just installed Advanced Spotlight and everything looks present and correct.
But the installer won't install into the beta version's 'Shaders' folder? How do you do this?
DIM will install into the beta as well as the general release, are you using DIM or stand-alone installers?

Check that you have Public Beta checked in your downloads filter list. That placeholder is for something else.
Already have Public Build checked, BUT you did make me look again. I didn't have "Software" checked, which seems to have been the problem.
Thanks
I second this.
That is funny. It is good to see people with their minds on something other than the elections.
FWIW, I get Genesis 3 to appear in the viewport in 20 seconds. Beta 4.9.3.128, Win 7 64 bit.

Ok thanks people :)
So I will waiting! (in hope that take don't more anymore long from now! :D)
