What security software are you using? Has it updated itself recently? Have you restored to a system snapshot, or replaced some of your data with back-ups recently for any reason?
Could be one of several things. The most likely is that you reopened DS or opened DS too soon after closing DS or DIM.
That cause, and several others can usually be solved by either pushing the "Start CMS" button or using the Start CMS by right clicking on the Smart Content tab. (See attached image.)
It isn't security software, and DS wasnt closed then reopened quickly, it was closed and then a few days later opened and that is when this happened.
Will look at starting cms
Thank you
Ass the atachment shows start and stop cms isnt highlighted for me to do anything
How do you know it isn't the security software? What are you using?
Because its a clean install of windows 7 ultimate and I havent as yet put any security on it
Well, Windows 7 still has its own fiewall - though that doesn't usually cause issues. Did you transfer the settings from your old PC, via a back-up for example? That might cause a conflict.
The firewall isnt switched on, and no its not a new pc but it had a new hard drive as the other one crashed, so its a complete fresh install of everything.
And you haven't pointed it to an alternative location for the CMS database, or copied across backed up data from the old HD? Try:
going to C:\\Users\You\AppData\Roaming\DAZ 3D\cms
opening the cmscfg.json file in a text editor
going to C:\\Users\You\AppData\Roaming\DAZ 3D\cms\ContentCluster
opening the postgresql.conf file in a text editor
does the path in the json file show C:/Users/You/AppData/Roaming/DAZ 3D/cms/ContentCluster? Does the port setting in the json fiel match the only port line not starting with a # in the conf file?
If you don't plan to use Connect then you can manage without; I do.
No the install is through install manager and only what is in my product list on my Daz account.
Will have a look there tomorrow well later as it is nearly 1 am for me now
At present no I dont but something is obviously not working correctly either and at some point I may want to use connect so would be an idea for it to work properly, it was ok until I did the update
