Dynamic clothing help?

I saw a lot of content in the content shop that has dynamic clothing.  Is this compatible with the APEX that is being used in Unreal Engine?  I am looking for a way to import a character with clothing into Unreal from Daz, but not sure what's the best way.  Can I also turn dynamic clothing off in the animation?  Would like more information on this area before I start purchasing if from the shop.  Thanks!

Has dynamic content become more common recently? I always remember it being quite rare. The objects certainly wouldn't export as dynamic, and couldn't be loaded into Unreal Engine natively (I assume). I think using the FBX exporter is the best way to export animations and the like for UE. If you don't want the dynamic simulation I would suggest not buying dynamic clothes. I'm not sure how they are rigged and behave withthout the simulation. In general though, I would think animations that are created with dynamics would provide you with a better quality though.

Jim, I was looking at this content for genesis 2

    https://www.daz3d.com/mec4d-shaolin-monk-uniform-for-genesis-2-male-s

From the description it says "...Custom weight maps will allow you to pose your character almost with dynamics allowing the clothing to fold and fall naturally....".  I would think to fold and fall natuarlly it would require dynamic clothing, or can it be done with skeletal mesh?  Sorry I'm really new to Daz studio so not familiar with this.

Oh, the weight maps aren't dynamics. Weight maps are a way of controlling mesh deformation. I believe UE has a system of weight maps, but I don't think they are conpatible with these ones. I think the new weight maps (genesis 7/m7/v7) do export, but I'm not 100% sure. This comes up against my limited knowledge about exporting for animation and games. I usually only export and import static, non-animated mesh via obj. There should be others about with more animation knowledge. It is probably worth your time looking at the documentation on what Unreal will import and what DAZ will export.
