Morph or from scratch?

Hi Everyone?
I just want to ask this question on what approach should I choose to create my first product. There are products out there in Daz3D by just looking at them have resemblance to each other i.e. female characters. Do PAs uses morph or they were created from scratch? It is my impression that an individual would put a lot of hours if he/she creates a product from the ground up versus if one uses a morph? I'm willing to spend money on merchant resources if these would allow me to legally create my own product. Thank you all for your help in advance.

Thank you for your answer. If I want to create a humanoid especially female Genesis 3 character for sale, what morphs do you recommend for me to purchase from the store to create a full female character?

Most characters for sale don't require morphs.
You're 'potentially' increasing the cost of your character if they are required.
Generally they are morphed/modelled/sculpted in Z brush, Blender, Hexagon, or maybe 3DS Maz or Maya.
Look for morph resource kits.
Thank you for your answer. If I purchase Genesis 3 female body and head morph merchant resource kit, do I still need to model my own female character or just create my own character using the Genesis 3 Female starter essential which comes with Daz Studio for free and then implement these body and head morphs to make my character unique? My impression with Merchant resource is to use it to make your own character using the base mesh that came with Daz Studio instead of creating your own model from scratch using i.e. Zbrush (too expensive but great), Hexagon (cheap but buggy), Blender (free but high learning curve) etc.
edit to fix quote
Morphs are mesh-specific so yes, the idea is to use the MR morphs to create a new morph for the base figure (which you can then save as a morph asset and distribute in accordance with the rules for the merchant resource set).
Thank you. They stated that if you use a merchant resource on your model, it must be 50% unique before you could call it your own. How to find out if you already made your 50% changes?
You would need to be using a sculpting application or DFormers to modify the result, I think - do you have a link to the page with the requirements?
No. But I just red it from one of the forums. I might have to hunt for that forum again just to make sure about the requirements. I do have a Hexagon but it keep on crashing on me and my last resort would be Blender. I kind of like it now and it is more stable than Hexagon.
You need to pay attention to the instruictions on the product page or in the readme. If the forum post was a clarification from the author of the set you are using then it is useful, if it was a third-party opinion then less so.
Thank you for the heads up. I'll make sure to read the instruction to prevent troubles.
