Iray vs luxus luxrender.

I wanted to sit down and learn how to use one of these render engines and their shaders materials. But I am not sure which one would be better for me to use. I'd like to get realistic results. I've tried both. And both give the same results without fine tuning any shaders.
I see some luxrender stuff that looks real enough for what I'd like. And some iray stuff that looks real enough for what I'd like. I don't really want to learn both though. Which one would be more beneficial to learn?

If you use DS you get IRAY for free and all the updates, and most props these days come with IRAY shaders setup, so if are happy with the result (quality, performance and so on) from both then I would think IRAY would be the best choice.
If all things are equal in terms of speed, then having Iray built-in, gives it the advantage of not having to re-translate, re-build or re-apply materials (and lights) if you make big changes to your scene.
The disadvantage of Iray is you lose the network and stop/resume rendering capabilities you have with Luxrender.
If you have a recent version of C4D then the Iray model is going to be familiar to you as its similar to the new "Reflectance" materials.
Do the Luxrender shaders work with Iray?
No.
I side with Prixat for the same reasons and a few more personal ones that I won't go into.
