Sorry I'm late to the George party, I lost track of the thread. I bought him and the Expandables pack (and the sitting poses) the other day and wanted to post my render. I'm using a combination of heads, from George, George Head 1 from the character pack, Gianni7 and Ivan7. Here's the breakdown: George base 20%, GeorgeCharacterHead1 40%, Gianni7 head 50%, Ivan7 head 37%. Trying to go for the look of an older more senior soldier in this case. Someone with years of experience, slightly less fit and more with an eye toward retirement!
Of course click on the image for the larger version. Thanks.
All the stuff I've read here have convinced me to pick up George (and the expansion). I absolutely love how peope are using him in combination with other characters (especially love the % character info people are including with their renders). George is a Hell of a tool (and I mean that in a nice way).
To the vendor--keep these unique characters coming! There are enough boring cloned anime pretty boy characters already.
Thanks! I am glad i got him, and this thread showing what a few others had done with him mixing other morphs made me go ahead and get him and the expansion pack. Sure, he can be the big guy if he needs to, but he can be so many other things as well. A truly versatile and useful character to have.
Duplicate, sorry
I received the update today, thanks. The teeth look better, but a new error was introduced. If I load George HD and double click "George Body Shape 3.duf", George becomes emaciated. Examining the Parameters pane shows that applying shape 3 set the George morph to 0.
Same thing for me. I load the George HD base character, then INJ the Expandables Body Shape 3 and he looks super skinny.
I don't understand why you get this result. I made a fresh new content folder install with George HD update and George Expandable update. I made many tests with Georges and his bodies morphs. Whenever I applied a body shape 3 I have not encountered any error. Finally I checked body shape 3 script and it has no error. I don't know how can I help you.
We're using the body shape 3 from the Expandables pack, not from the George base pack. Is that what you're doing as well?
we are talking about the same thing.
I made tests with body shape 3 from George expandable pack. George has not boby morph option.
I applied body shape 3 on George HD base character and it works perfectly. (see picture).
Weird. I have George Expandable as well, and I'm not seeing that.
When I load George HD and use "George Body Shape 3" from the "Character Body" folder, he gets less bulky but he's still pretty beefy. Enough smaller that, if he were a real person, you might wonder if he lost a little weight, but that's it. Before I use that option, the George and George HD sliders in the Parameters are both at 100%. After using "George Body Shape 3", a slider with that name appears in Currently Used and is at 100%, George at 75%, and George HD at 100%.
When I load George HD and use "George Character Shape 3", he gets a little shorter and a little more bulky, because that's a different slider. With that all three sliders -- George Character 3, George, George HD -- are all at 100%.
I wonder why we're getting such different results.
Just out of curiosity: @sapat, @barbuilt, are you using the Smart Content options, or using George Expandable from the Content Library? If it's Smart Content, I wonder if maybe the metadata got borked in the update, and now the Smart Content preset is missing some information? I use the Content Library directory section, and as mentioned, I'm not seeing these issues.
Do you get the same results with the standard resolution non-HD version of George? When I use that on non-HD George, the same sliders activate -- including the George HD one, which was a bit of a surprise, but not a huge deal.
I think maybe Sapat might be referring to the George Character 3 preset. In the Content Library, it sits completely outside the George folder, so it looks somewhat like it might not be part of the Expandables product. Also, it does something completely different than the George Body Shape 3 preset in the George/Character Body folder, which might add to the confusion.
I loaded George HD from the Smart Content Figures section. I applied "George Body Shape 3.duf" from Smart Content, as shown in the images attached to my prior post. I installed both products with Daz Connect. I submitted a help request and received a reply that they confirmed the issue. So, something is wrong that is affecting multiple customers and Daz Customer Service.
Here is an excerpt from the "George Body Shape 3.duf" file:

You can clearly see that it sets the George morph to 0 (I bolded the text to make it stand out). That is the problem that I see and the problem that is shown in my screenshot of the Parameters pane in my post here.
Thanks barbult. Hope they figure it out.
When you applied George Body shape 3 George needs to be set up to 75 % and Hd Details to 100%.
This is normal because the volume of the body is smaller than George Base. With this setup JCMs works better for this shape.
For Body Shape 1 George needs to be set up to 84 % and HD details to 100%
I have not used smart content but manual install. I just copied zip file to my content folder. Maybe error comes from Smart Content ?
All my bodies shape morphs are HD. This is a reason why when you applied one of them George HD Details is activated.
If you need a non HD shape please setup George HD Details to zero
Thank you
The error is not caused by Smart Content. Double clicking "Body Shape 3.duf" from the Content Library results in the same skinny character.
I checked the "\People\Genesis 3 Male\Characters\George\Character Body\George Body Shape 3.duf" file installed by Daz Connect, DIM, and Manual Download. All three of the files contain the lines that set the George morph to 0:
"url" : "name://@selection#George:?value/value",
"keys" : [ [ 0, 0 ] ]
Double clicking on "George Body Shape 3.duf" sets the George morph to 0. You say it should be 75%. If so, the "George Body Shape 3.duf" needs to set it to that 75%, just like the "George Body Shape 1.duf" file sets the George morph to 84% with the following lines:
"url" : "name://@selection#George:?value/value",
"keys" : [ [ 0, 0.84 ] ]
Please note that in all cases, I am selecting George HD in the Scene pane and then double clicking on the icon for George Body Shape 3. I am not manually dialing the George Body Shape 3 from the Parameters pane.
@vwrangler If you examine your "\People\Genesis 3 Male\Characters\George\Character Body\George Body Shape 3.duf" in a text editor, do you see the same settings I see, where the George morph is set to 0, or do you see it set to 0.75?
Do you have the latest updated files from a couple days ago that made improvements to the teeth? I don't remember seeing this problem before that update. I don't have an old version of the files to go back and look at.
I turned the beard limits off and went crazy, creating this cool Viking George image in honor of Leif Erikson Day!
And this version too:
That's a very cool and awesome image, @Gogger! :)
I have the latest updated files, and I see exactly what you see.
According to the file, it should be setting both overall George and George body to 0,0. But for some reason, it's doing exactly what Deepsea says it should.

Here'is the path for George Body Shape 3 script
Content/data/Daz 3D/Genesis 3/Male/Morphs/Deepsea/George Body Shape 3
You can find these command line just before "morph"

WHOA!!! they are AWESOME!!
Actually when i first saw the images and didn't read anything, I immediately thought they were images from How to Train Your Dragon movie LOL!!! I thought you were just posting them like a "hey can we get a beard for george like this?". They are brilliant!!
Ah. I have that file where it should be. And it explains what I did see, where George Body Shape 3 pulled in George HD even though I was using standard definition George.
Oh, I see. The preset deliberately zeroes George before it calls the "George Body Shape 3.dsf" file because THAT file calls both George and George HD. If the preset didn't zero George, it would try to double him -- which it probably couldn't do, but it might erase Body Shape 3 setting George to 75%.
I checked the zip file downloaded by DIM, modified/downloaded 10/4, and the data directory and file are definitely there, and they say what Deepsea says they should.
Barbult
You are right. "Body Shape 3.duf" should be

I'll send a new update to Daz Pass. "George body shape 3" works fine for me this is why I didn't see this .DUF error.
I like George too!
Hello, lovely Lady!
This is George. Good, old George. He is just taking a break and watching the antics of the drone, then he sees her walking over the maintenance bridge. The lady has style - colouring her hair matching her suit - and a nice, loose gait. Well, trying doesn't hurt - much, anyway.
"Hello lovely Lady!"
This is Opal. Opal is an engineer. She is tough, can swear with the best and she has a sense of humour. Coming from a tedious job she is walking over the maintenance bridge.
"Hello lovely Lady!"
Well, that's not much of a line, and he could loose some pounds, but he has a good face.
Opal is interested ...
