So for renders in renders it is: "Any witch way you like it", that is fine.
That you don't have to link al the freebies you use, I had already figured that one out. I try to link as much as I can because the links is one of the purposes with the Challenge.
I am still curious about the aspen as it has some principal value on how you count generators. I am hoping for a "No" because that would make some sense. "The link is not to whatever is used in the render, so it is not valid." But I suspect things are not that logical.
Simple rules don't make strait line as they give a lot of wiggling space for the things that is not directly covered. I am trying to find that strait line but there is so much wiggling that it is impossible for me to tell where it is.
Cheers! Oom
for renders in renders remember, you do have to list the items that you used and the paid items do count (just like in the main render) like the Portia hair I used and the hula outfit, have to be listed. I rarely don't list the items I use because I agree with you on that one, unless I can't find it and I know it's out there like the Margo link (and usually someone will know where to find it). I assume you need music to answer your aspen question since you are directing it at him (I'm and ETO and can give you the correct answer also) so unless you want us to go through the old thread and search for your question you might want to re ask it.
OOm Fooyat.. I actually did went trought the whole tread from last month and couldn't find the question :red:
I had plenty of freebies so I was not depending on the tree.
Arbaro is a program, you enter data (there are some very good presets), hit a button and out comes a prop.
Since then, after some consideration, I have changed my mind. Generator should not be counted as freebies because they are not visible in the render. Is that correct music?

I have no absolutely problem with your entry, it is great, specially the one with the grass skirt :ohh: , or that form Alexa. It is the wiggling rules that bothers me.
Cheers! Oom

thank you so much for a link. I ma actually collecting all the vegetation generator ( still Ivy Generator is one of my favorite, even thou Anything I will do is so heavy it doesn't want to render for me)
And how about the leaves with it.. are they palnes that need transparency maps, or does it make actual leaf geometry?
As for the answer.. I do not feel competent enough to answer it.
Ivy-generator leaves are single transmapped planes. There's just a half-bazillion of them.
You are very welcome.
The leaves are modelled, so no transparency, UV-amped if you like, but not textured. You see part of the aspen in the render above with just diffuse colour. At so close distance I should have used a texture. I also used it for the for the trees in the background in my first entry this month. But it is not the actual models in the scene it is renders of single trees put together in gimp on a plane.
Cheers! Oom

Oh this is cool, so you can pick out of few shapes of leaves.
In use in poser/DS UV mapped objects are a must, otherwise the shader ( if using one) get's really distorted.
I know I could try to make some shaders in poser to use with leaves, but I am not so familiar with shader mixer in DS....
I have only used the presets so far and changed the seed. I would like to learn the program enough to make grass. I believe you don't pick shapes more set limits for the generator variation.
Not one of my better ones, but I though I'd go ahead and post it anyway.

As always, figure set-up in Studio 2.3 and final render in Bryce 5.5.Some minor tweaking of elements that were shader dependant and did not transfer over to Bryce.
All 3DS Models were converted to .obj format for import into Studio using PoserRay, available Through This Link Converts Lightwave and 3DS files into easy to use .OBJ format files. Free and easy to use.
Very nice, I thought.

A HAG IS BAGGED!
Has to be NAE, though, cause I intend to ignore the rule about the model not moving when I unbag her. It's becoming an annual tradition with me. Ignoring the rules, I mean.
Plus, I already won the Monkeemobile in an earlier challenge, heh heh.
She must be pretty ugly if she has to be in a containment chamber! :bug:
Dana
Is it some kind of funky lab experiment.

Don't point that thing at me! That building is from 3-d-c's The Streets set? Pretty nice detail for free, eh? I have to go look at the promos again, I think I downloaded all of that set.

Ok, now I can answer your question. In the past, since .obj format is acceptable, as it imports into DS fine, If something was used to convert another format into an .obj file, it had to be listed, and possibly a link to it. Poseray converts .3ds files and Lord Ganthor has used it a few times and listed a link to it. BUT...the actual program can not be claimed as a freebie. So, the answer would be no, it can not be claimed as a freebie, but if used must be listed along with a link so others can reproduce the item in the render and use it in DS.
I don't remember seeing the question, and when you asked the other day, I will admit, I had no idea what you were talking about or what this Arbaro even was. I appoligize if I came off as rude. I simply did not know what you were talking about. I hope this clears up any questions you have about third party generators or converters.
:-)
I like it! You can see everything very clearly. All links are good. You have the required Trumarcar freebie. You are good to go.
:-)
OMG!...IT'S THE FILTHY FIFTH ELEMENT!...or is that just you be a naughty boy Dorsey?
:bug:
This one is gonna rock our world...I can tell from those crossed eyes!
:ohh:
I remembered this one as soon as I saw it. You did a great job on it. The apple is ok because I can see it since you pointed it out to me. That helps sometimes...lol. All links are good. You have the required trumarcar freebie. You are good to go.
:-)
been having the same trouble, finally give up and come back later, like the re-vamp. she looks a bit uncomfortable though straddling that tank.
Yes, that clears it out. Well, just to complete the subject: If I use a commercial program to create something I use in a render, it will not be counted as a paid item or...? I think of Photo Shop, Z-brush, X-gen or DCC for instance.
I believe you misunderstood the question so the answer came out wrong, so lets forget the it and go on with something more pleasant.....
Like a Hag In A Bag.
More of a Glamor Shot then classic Pin-Up but close enough I think.
Unfortunately Cycles made some artefacts and I'm to lazy to fix them.
Cheers Oom
Yeah, that's what I've been doing. But sometimes it takes until the next day.
And the hovertank has a thicker canon compared to the original quadtank I'd used last year, even with scaling down. Which is why I didn't list the pose, I had to do far too much tweaking to it to make her sit right.
Wow! I thought that was a photograph! Maybe I need to look into Blender. That's what uses Cycles, right? I remember reading something about it elsewhere. Is that car the Buick Roadmaster by Nationale7 over at Renderosity?
