Nevermind, I figured out the jaw thing. I needed to lower the jaw using y translate rather than jaw open, And there is a tongue (I changed the shader on it). A digustingly beautiful tongue. I also added an eye.

You're right, there IS a tongue!  How did you get it to stick out?  Z Translate?

I did notice that you can get a little carried away with the Y Translate on the jaw... which in itself can be an interesting effect.

Yes, z translate, and there's no such thing as getting carried away! smiley

    Gummy Demon

I LOVE gummies!  But I'm not sure what I would do if I opened a package and found these guys...

  • You know, its quite possible that this creature may be hunting some of my characters really soon. It is almost October after all...

This creature certainly looks great. I can see several LOL renders have been made using him as well! :D

Is it possible by any chance to animate his mouth so it will sync with any words that I may want to make him speak? Just curious. :)

You don't want luster for this one. Red River's Aurora Art Natural would work well. I've used it on both my Epson 3800 and P800 with excellent results. The rolls are also very reasonably priced.

Yeah, I may have to print this one out. The full size version is 5760x3240, so there's enough resolution to print him out 12" x 21.33" @ 270 dpi. Just got in a shipment of pigments and another 24" roll of luster photo paper from Red River yesterday, so I'm good-to-go!

I've got an older Epson R1800, and I've been ordering from Red River since I bought the printer new probably 10-12 years ago now. I've tried tons of their papers, and I've printed out images in this style many times before. I love the texture on their luster photo paper and the way it accepts the pigment and catches light producing vibrant colors. I definitely do want this paper, and actively don't want anything smooth. To each each his own.

I worded that too strongly. I really meant that the DaVinci feel would really come through on a fine art paper. The Aurora Art isn't as smooth as the Lusters. That's all.

Here's my Blind Demon image. I think my next one will have a whole bunch of tiny blind demons in them. Afterall what is worse than a big one? A whole bunch of tiny ones!

Awesome, Serene! So much going on in this image - the drool & bones are excellent touches. Looking forward to seeing your tiny blind demon army.

    Glad you like it. =-)

Here's one with the blind demon's shrunk to about 50 percent. They are ust as menacing! I hope to see more of this figure. Especially poses. I could use a few where they are lying down or prone or maybe perhaps crouched ready to spring into action?

  • I thought I'd add my Blind Demon efforts.  I have two different postworked versions and I'm not sure which I like best so I'll just link both. I'm kind of leaning to possibly putting both up in my gallery, but haven't decided yet.  They both do look better at full size.

I like the first one, though I'm not sure I'm sold on the armband thingies.

    Really nice.

I think the first one has better color, but the second one I can see his face better.  If you could give the first render more light in the face it would definately be the best.

Thanks!  The default texture was quite a challenge, but the Subterranean texture was easier.  I've got some ideas for a render - just in time for October...

Great scene! More poses coming soon. They are up for testing right now.

Holy sh*t, that's awesome!! The render style is amazing. Wow.

  • I bought the blind demon  #34151

I wanted to rig this character and I can't seem to figure this out.

Is there any documentation on this?

I would think that it's already rigged?

  • It's partially rigged but missing three bones. 2 in the arm and one in the spine.  Then when I rig the missing bones in 3Dexchange and hit activate it is very off.

I am new to this so how do non-human characters work so they work in iclone?

The character works fine in DAZ Studio and is fully rigged.

Are you trying it in a different application?

I am not on my computer but I had no issues retargeting it in 3DX6 for iClone6, you don't have to use every bone just the minimum ones to get the green dot, and you do need to do nonstandard creatures manually and tpose them.

my result is actually a gif animation earlier in this thread

I would have to look on my other computer to see how I set it up but I imagine like any unique character I dialled in all the morphs on frame 2 and exported an animated 2 frame FBX then manually assigned them with the sliders in expression editor.
