Same here. I had nice V4 freebies that I didn't really use because of the fitting, but kept around just in case. Tried them with the system and voila, usable. The dress preset does some nice work even on some non-dress items that don't really fall into any other category.

Glad it worked for you , didn't work at all for me as much as I hoped. Shoes are a bit better, and it does give me a small amount of control on dresses, but not like I want. Didn't give me a good return on my investment sadly. Lots of rants and raves, but I guess I'm the only one that has custom figures or split dresses that need a front and back control. Sometimes I realize that I really need to exit the stock content market and get back into making my own stuff. I just don't have the time. I have a day job I can't dedicate the time to do that for my own stuff. So I hope solutions sold here and other places do the job. They typically make me cry :(

Not to say its a bad product. It works to an extend, but I really don't use it much at all and kind of regret getting excited over it.

Wish i was independently wealthy and could spend my time making art and not having a day job. My art would be better and free of the limitations. *sigh* but that's my problem.

I see that V5 et al have finally been removed from Fastgrab. Is this a sign?

I just noticed that. The link doesn't work yet, but I'm sure it will er...'soon'. ;-) I need to get back to work, maybe the product page will be up by then.

Yep. There were more images of other products, but they removed them some minutes later.

So where is base Genesis 2?

    I can't see the Genesis 2 base.
From what I'm understanding there is some but not a lot of backward compatibility.
Two different figures males and female which will mean 2 different sets of clothing - I find this a real shame.
It also looks as if not only will we have to rebuy all the morphs sets again but this time we will have to buy them twice.
The outfits that I can see look so similar to what was released previously - nothing very new at all.

The Genesis 2 base ought to be coming along pretty soon, just have to keep checking and see.

If you want to use V4 skins, you have to buy this: http://www.daz3d.com/new-releases/victoria-4-for-genesis-2-female

This is what I want to know too. Can morphs from one gender be compatible with the other? The awesome thing about Genesis 1 is that even if a morph pack suggests a particular target base, it can work just as well for anything else. Is there even a middle ground? What if I want to make a non-gender specific character? Genesis 1 was truly about making any combination of a humanoid figure. Does it have to be either male or female now?

So that says it, apparently there will be zero compatibility with anything for the current Genesis.

Even at the 10.47$ PC price per shape (since it appears they will be sold individually) times the number of legacy shapes I currently have for Genesis "Classic" (10) that's a total outlay of roughly 105$ On top of it, the new body shapes will be required to make the autofit tool work with Genesis2.

After that I'll also need "Generation X ver. 2" and the "GenX Add Ons ver. 2" for all the legacy figures I want to transfer morphs from, as well as replace all the Merchant resource morph packs (4).

Then no doubt all the toon and standalone figures like Mavka, Stalker Girl, and Nata (another 8)

...again, what was the name of that book after Genesis?

    ..ahh right, Exodus.

...followed several books later by Lamentations.

This pisses me off. There sure as hell had better not be a push for these products over Genesis 1 along Gen 4 and 5 figures! NO Backwards compatibility AT ALL. Not to mention that Gen 5 (or at least most of it) has only been out for a year or so, holy ****, it feels like DAZ is giving me and every other customer a great big, foam middle finger.
If this is the direction that DAZ's developers are taking it, then I am seriously considering throwing in the towel and sticking to Renderosity and other sites as a customer. My gosh I'm pissed (not to mention disappointed in DAZ) off right now!

...considering the first full page, plus three products on the next page are all Genesis2/Vicky6 related (18 total), yeah, I'd say that's a pretty big push.

Welcome to "Black Thursday" (or should it maybe be Red Thursday because that's what going to happen to a lot of people's bank balances)

I'm pretty sure that was a typo, 3D world probably meant that Gen 6 would be coming around in 2014 or 2015... that would be nuts to change gears so quick. Who'd do that so soon and risk freaking out an already disillusioned customer base... nope it must be a mistake.

You haven't been paying attention lately have you? Go look in the shop. Genesis 2 Female and V6 have been released.

I'm pretty sure there has been some glitch with Magento, because I keep seeing the Gen 5 figures referred to as Gen 6... thats weird because everyone today also keeps saying Gen 6 instead of 5... I'm sure when the Gen 6 figures do come out we will all have a big laugh... a real big one... reeeeeeeeeealy big... maybe even a little snorty. But yeah I'm sure we will all laugh about this at some not too distant future date...
