Wonderful scene, a bit heavy on computer resources though - but definately worth it !!!

  • If you render the buddha inside you can of course delete all the outside and fancy fake GI and just use 3 point lighting

    thanks.  this looks nice

i had a thought to use it as a classroom scene.

  • Guess I should post this in here as well, so someone will see it outside a seemingly completely dead thread.

Don't know if using LuxCore is cheating or not, but these kinds of results are just straight up not possible in Carrara natively.

    Hi DragonSkyRunner

Sorry for the late reply, I'm not sure how to enable notifications. Glad you found good use for the shaders, the car looks great.

"but these kinds of results are just straight up not possible in Carrara natively."

Hey Chris, thanks for stepping in and posting again.  You jogged my memory of your previous posts on realism - two years ago! - and I finally used the shader you so nicely provided.

I am still relatively inexperienced with Carrara, and realism is a challenge for me (and these are early stages).  But I got pretty good results just by playing with your stuff.  Many thanks!

  • Chris,

I really like the ones in Doc7. Can you share the settings that you used to create them?

Sure thing, perhaps sharing the scene file if that's allowable and desireable? There is nothing in there but my shaders and primitives.

Another render quickie with stuff from my Runtime that I need to use more often.  Kitbashed a 50s scifi suit from the GCop helmet, cabana wear, and Jessica Rabbit gloves all for G2F.  Also the toon rocket, and some DAZ robots (JC....) and a Daz moonlander.  I put together the simple Carrara terrains, Carrara spheres for planets, and Carrara text.

Just having some quick fun.  Also known as Vicky in a spacesuit with a robot.  VIASSWAR

found it made more sense to move the sky altitude than move the planes and camera.

    shroom house under hdri.

couldnt remember where the attenuation setting was, thought i saw inverse square

  • WendyLuvsCatzWendyLuvsCatz Posts: 38,200

    You mean gamma?

attenuate usually means to reduce limit something like keyframes or morphs influences in DAZ studio morphloader, can't recall anything with that term in Carrara myself

has something to do with fall off,

In photography and stage lighting, the inverse-square law is used to determine the "fall off" or the difference in illumination on a subject as it moves closer to or further from the light source.
