Just waiting to pick up Freak 5, then will mix with V5 or Girl4 to get me a She Freak, I love Genesis :)
I don't think the PA who made SF has made any Genesis content or is even active at this point so who knows. But I've been making my own amazonian women anyway. With Genesis there are many options to get the job done.
That's what's bugging me -- this is Genesis, the female options should be promo'd along with the male ones, but I'm not seeing any. Hope the F5 muscle morphs work well with women, I've been doing a few superheroes that would've looked better a bit more muscular, and I haven't done very good with GE Muscularity.
Well, if it's an actual direct DAZ-generated She-Freak you're looking for, you'll never get one. DAZ said at at V5's launch as well as V5's Genesis page itself that if anyone wants a Gen 5 She-Freak or Kids, they are to morph it themselves with a V5/Freak combo and the Basic Child morph respectively.
(See paragraph "Options, Options, Options...")
http://www.daz3d.com/products/genesis/genesis-victoria
However, RKane_1 is working on a set of amazon shapes for Genesis that were looking really well the last time I saw them.
you can get a nice She Freak with a few dial spins
I'm sorry; but that is NOT an official announcement that DAZ3d will not release a She-Freak 5 or kids 5. What you have quoted is advertising hyperbole designed to point out the flexibility of the Genesis mesh.

What, and ruin the chance of making more money? Lol. First you market the male version then you add boobs, ass and vacant eyes and call it the female version which you then sell for the same price again.

That's what I'm always hoping is the case. Trust me, there's no one who gets more overzealous for DAZ Icons than I do. But even I lost a little heart when the idea of a David upgrade was neglected once again. Then DAZ_Kevin says flat out that DAZ does not promise every character for every generation.
I mean, the only reason why we were lucky enough to get Young Teens this round was because Thorne made them and sold them to DAZ, herself. That's why if anything going to happen for an official She-Freak, it most likely all rides on whether or not RKane_1 plans on selling his amazon morphs to DAZ.
Though, seeing surprising ReadMe's for Aiko 5 is rather hope lifting. :)
I'm not against a She-Freak 5 (the more the merrier etc), I'm just not sure how many guys are really into rendering giant, muscle-bound women to be honest. A few maybe, but not enough for Daz to launch an entire line around. I'd much rather see a Girl 5.
Why no posts about G5? Give us G5, Daz! :D
You do realise that there are a lot of woman who use ds? Personally I like the idea of creating strong woman characters...

Yea I agree seems a bit of an odd assumption that its just blokes that render women or use DS.
very nice, a lot nicer than the one thats cooking over here :)
OK, noting like the one by TimG, this is quite a masculine SF, just two dials used.
100% V5
50% F5
Hitomi clothing and hair.
I love Genesis :D
You do realise that there are a lot of woman who use ds? Personally I like the idea of creating strong woman characters...While I agree, the question is whether it's necessary when you can combine existing morphs to make female characters more muscular anyway. In ye olde times, you needed a separate mesh for male and female, which is why there was Freak and She-Freak, but with Genesis you can mix and match to nearly infinite combinations, easily making a bodybuilder, a She-Freak,or even a Hulk-Baby! The question isn't so much "is there a market for this" but "is there a market for this which isn't already catered for by existing morphs".
Just my 2 pence anyway, as we don't use cents here.
I can't speak for anyone else, but a lot of times, I don't care whether or not the figure I'm rendering is attractive to me, but rather if it serves my needs for the image I'm trying to create. My main interest is in superheroes, where extreme musculature on either gender can be appropriate. While I wouldn't mind having a She-Freak 5 (and a Girl 5, for that matter), I have to admit that I've really liked the renders I've seen using Freak 5 to create females. They work really well. I don't know if it's significant or not, but there's no She-Freak shape among the Gen 3 and Gen 4 shapes for Genesis; that's probably not an oversight.

That's a good point. I remember seeing one figure in the DAZ store (I can't remember which one now) of a female, but one of the promo pics showed the morph being used for a male figure. I'd like to see more of that kind of thing.
In my humble opinion, if you have GenX and the V4 shape for genesis the way to go for a feminine she freak is to get she freak for V4 and transfer it over to genesis. PC members get shefreak V4 for 2 bucks, she has a bunch of heads and 4 body types. There are also tough ladies and strong women 2 dollar packs that add even more shapes to the she freak line(i think nearly 20).
I only have she freak V4, and not the expansions, but I can say they look a lot more like women with muscles, then if you added in the freak which makes them look like men. Of course if you want your woman to have a squarish structure adding Freak or Hyde or even michel superhero may help. Especially in fantasy non-human races who cares if the female also looks like a troll, that may be the purpose.
The great thing about She freak was she was a muscular woman, with curves not too dissimilar to female body builders. Very few female body builders shape themselves like the Male freak.
Everyone has their own goals of course and its not to say you can't use Freak + V5 and be happy. But I do see why some may be interested in a she freak build. For those people my suggestion stands, GenX She freak as well as the V4 morph++ muscle builds, and use the GE muscularity a bit as well. THen you can have some amazing unique results.
This is the way to go. Not only do you get a muscular female shape, you get four bodies, plus eight faces. It's a real good deal for two bucks. I also picked up Strong Women and Tough Ladies, but I haven't gotten them transferred over to Genesis yet.
Question. I couldn't tell from the previews if Tough Ladies and Strong Women really had shapes that stood out from the base 4 SF bodies. Even if you didn't send them over to Genesis, did you happen to look at them on V4 and form an opinion on their uniqueness? Do at least some of them stick out?
I was tempted to pick up, but was fairly happy with mixing what I have already. I just didn't want to pick up and spend time moving over if the differences were really minor and hard to detect.
You can actually achieve the She Freak-esque stature and sculpt using the GE morphs. It just takes some effort to dial them well (you have to do it for individual areas, especially the face, torso, and thighs). Having said that, the convenience and versatility of a She Freak morph would be most welcome).
That is a very good point, I remember doing the same thing to V4 a long time ago with her muscle morphs, it is a bit of a process but allows you to shape them how you want.
Dialing in each region is time consuming and even though my monitor rests atop an anatomy book with illustrations of each muscle groups I never did remember all the muscle group names! Would be faster if my memory was better.
If you wanted to make 4 figures that were shaped differently it would take some time, and the SF for V4 kits give you that pretty quickly.
Adding a bit of Freak is great for barbarians
V5 100%
F5 30%
Plus a few other minor dial tweaks to toned, wirey etc
I liked She Freak 4 quite a bit, and I used her quite a bit, but usually at lower percentages. I also really liked the V4 Muscle Morphs. But, the support was abysmal for SF4 and non-existent for the Muscle Morphs, in clothing. Unfortunately SF4 seemed to be a victim of the "not made here" effect, and was rarely if ever included in the Unimesh Fits. There was a thread several years ago on the old boards, where DAZ was pretty dismissive about the whole thing, I was sort of shocked at the time, actually, and fairly annoyed. I wish I could find it, but my Google Fu is weak today.
So, given the past history, I'm not overly optimistic about a real She Freak for Genesis. But, that was several years ago, and views can change, so you never know.
Great thing is now you can bring over your SF4 to Genesis and there are plenty of clothes for her! Even if we don't get a new SF, the "old" gals or the new gals with old DNA can wear anything they want! Cheers!
Which She Freak? Dodger created the original She Freak which was a separate figure. DAZ pulled it and replaced it with She Freak2 for V3. Most of the original She Freak's clothing was pulled except for: http://www.daz3d.com/goth-as-fashion-for-ingenue-vickie-and-she-freak.

Well, I can when I buy GenX. :-) I haven't gotten around to that yet, since the past few months I have had no time to actually make scenes and render, and yet I spend all this money on sales... :-/ But, now that things in my life are getting a little more manageable, I will have to get it and try it out. If I get that, I'd try to to bring in the old V4 Muscle Morphs as well, that was a great pack, but I never really got a sense of how popular it was or was not, I just know that they never showed up in clothes. Anybody else like these? http://www.daz3d.com/victoria-4-2-muscle-morphs Or has anyone tried bringing them over to Genesis, and if so, how did they turn out?
Sorry for confusion, I was referring to SF for V4. Since that was the last version of SF, I think some people figured that PA would be the one to continue the legacy. But that PA hasn't released anything for Genesis to my knowledge.

Yes I have those muscle morphs, but I didn't move over the 40 morphs to Genesis because there are already some muscle group morphs for genesis and would just be redundant(i would think). But I did move over some of the presets, Barbarian, Gynast, Massive and Wirey IIRC. They work as you would expect, you dial in V4 shape for genesis and then dial in Barbarian and it looks fine. I have genX'd relatively large morph sets before (with a dozen plus dials) so it can be done if that is what you are interested in.

Ah, so the presets are treated differently than the individual morphs? Or rather, they are their own morphs and not a superset of the other morphs? Excuse my ignorance, I've never used GenX and don't know much about it rather than the most superficial understanding of what it does. I'd start with the presets then and see what else I needed. Probably the more noticable ones like abs, etc.
Of course, like I said in the earlier post, I tend not to use SF4 or the Muscle Morphs at very high values, so the presets may be fine. My personal taste is more the fitness model look than competitive body builder look. Not a big fan of pronounced vascularity, in women or men. Nothing wrong with it, just not my personal taste. A barbarian like that may look all gnarly and ripped, but with that low a percentage of body fat he/she will probably catch a cold, or starve to death a few days after the rations run out. :-)
Basically yes you are right about presets being separate from morphs. You can use GenX a few ways. You can inject all the potential morphs into V4 and have genX export all those morphs into genesis as separate controls that default to zero. I did this with all the NBM/NGM morphs for example. Those packs have so many morphs you don't want to export them one by one, you just want them all as options in the future.
Or you can inject a preset into a figure, and tell GenX that you want it to take the current figure shape and export it as a single morph with single dial that you can dial in.
GenX actually has more options than that, but those are the two I use. And I don't do the super muscular women either, its much easier to get just what you want now than it was on V4 IMO. That whole injection method was great for it's time, but then I had to go into all those morphs and dial down the ones I thought went too far.
That reminds me of the She-Freak I made for my General Gen 5 Iconic Character Render Thread.
