Did a complete reinstall off all my DAZ content in 1 evening (+1000 items), last time it took me almost 3 weeks before i had everything as i wanted. So i'm very glad with the launch of this tool. And have a lot of extra space on my harddisks after deleting the original exe files.

...Only about +/-1400 zips to go from rendorsity and RDNA etc (decided to reinstall everything). Maybe a little hint, Think about making this a open tool, also for third party content markets . Would love to manage all my content with one tool ;-).

Thanks DAZ for making this available

Don't really want to go thru 49 pages... If this has been asked before sorry.

Is there a way to pause/quit the download process?

I remember reading somewhere that V5 should be installed where Genesis is installed.

    Is that correct?

My V5 was from a magazine DVD not from DAZ!

Does that mean I shouldn't re-install Starter Essentials through DIM?

I installed Genesis Starter Essentials through the DIM with no problems. All of the Genesis stuff used to have to be in the same folder, but as far as I can tell, that no longer applies. You could give it a try. I think it would be good practice to keep them together anyway.

All of the morphs of V4 (and M4) need to go into the same Runtime folder as the base model, that still applies.

Sorry if this issue have been discussed during the last week but I just don't have the time to brows through 49 pages of discussion that may point in the right direction...

Thought I should at least try the new Install Manager and download the latest edition of the DSON Importer for Poser as there is a new version out there.

I set it up as per instruction but there is no sign of the DSON Importer in the listing in the Import Manager?!?

Then I started looking for other stuff, none of the purchased apps seem to be there either.

All the radio buttons are set in the 'Download Filters' and IM states that it has found 1163 files ready for download.

    So what is wrong?

At the moment, yes. It is treated as a special character, which DIM doesn't accept. That'll be changed :)

What exactly is available to redownload? I assume some older items have not been zipped such as V3: at least V3 did not appear in my list. I know I am missing the Millennium dog also, though the puppy appeared. Is there a way to work out what has happened here?

At the moment from V4 to present. There are products in that range which are still being converted, which will appear on the Ready to Download tab when done.

Many thanks for swift response. I've just refreshed and found more stuff, including Victoria 2. Does this mean everything will appear in time or that before V4 it may be random?

Unless you have another DAZ account, the name may be the thing tripping it up. I assumed this was the name of the account.

Along with the Clear Queue button, there is a red X button beside each item during progress. I'm not seeing any way of pausing, only aborting.

Products will appear as they have been processed.

gotta say I'm inmpressed with the product update notifier - some stuff I have installed that I never realised had been updated.

I think that's the goal. I believe they're working first on all content (models, morphs, textures) for Studio and Poser...they started at some point on new content and worked back to V4 and are continuing backward, while new content also gets added.

There was talk of expanding to Bryce, Carrara, LightWave, etc. and hopefully we'll eventually get all the scripts and shaders to match...and other goodies like Ron's brushes. Programs and plugins would be a welcome addition, too. The update notification would be VERY helpful for Studio, which updates fairly often.

I can't find "G4 and F4 for Genesis" in DIM. Is it in the queue to be done soon, or am I just going blind (possible) or..?

    Cheers,

    Cliff

If that's correct it raises even more issues!!

99% of my morphs for V4/M4 are not from DAZ.

Does this mean I should install non-DAZ items into the new DIM location?

I believe that only applies to morphs which use the ExP technology.

By morphs of V4 and M4, I mean Aiko 4, She Freak 4, Hiro 4, Freak 4 etc etc. They rely on the Base figure to operate. The Morphs++ files for each of these should also go in the same folder. Morphs created by other people can go where you want as far as I know, but if they rely on Morphs++, then Morphs++ would need to be loaded first.

So how does this DIM thing work then, it only for DS content? What about Poser stuff, Carrara stuff? Does it download and install removing the zip files after, or can you select to keep the files and store them on back drive?

I noticed that in the download list some items appear to have failed. Is this normal and knows her well of your downloads with the DIM?

It might be a temporary download glitch; if you have any that failed, try downloading them a second time and see if that works.

I've found that I have to re-start the DIM to get to install failed installs. That is weird, if the problem is the connection ( a timeout is the usual cause for a failed download) then simply restarting the download usually does the trick. If the problem is with the file, then it won't download until the file is fixed. (And then you would need a refresh.)

Thank you - that was the information I had been looking for. I downloaded the files again and then it ran well. I was just surprised that there are so many files were initially.

So then there were only compound problems.

In the meantime I have to solve my problems that I had with the missing content in the Smart Content tab. It was my mistake, I had done something wrong with the installation directory. A clean uninstall of DS 4.5, including all folders in different directories and reinstalling as well as a second Experiment with the DIM then brought the success. :-)

Now I need to compare only if all are really content articles that I got in about 3 years Daz-shopping together, indicating also the DIM. I miss namely eg the Safari bundle that it 2009, still free.

I do not know if the question has occurred, but it works well with the DIM if I investing in the Libraries folder in the runtime own categories. In my Poser Runtimes I have so that is, and it would be nice if I could have one day both programs access it.

Hopefully the Google Translator translates these things not too funny ... ;-)

DS and Poser content from DAZ, Carrara not at the moment. Yes, you can select to keep the files after downloading and installing.

I am not able to login to DIM. The pop up says ‘unable to login to the specified account’. I have double checked the email address and password (interestingly the password now appears (in brackets) next to my email address in the Account field. I have only the one account.

    Any suggestions?

I have to agree with this. At first I couldn't get it to work on my system, but now that I've taken the plunge and deleted all previously installed content, reset the CM database and started again from scratch using DIM, everything is going well. Almost too well.

There are a few products that don't seem to be downloadable through DIM yet, but I'm sure this will eventually be fixed. I also found it a bit disconcerting at first not to get the message about importing metadata when starting D|S after an install, but the new method is much smoother.

The DIM processes runtime and library content, not programs or other types of things such as Photoshop brushes or backgrounds and stuff. Maybe later.

Does your password contain any special characters, e.g. +, &, @, etc?
