DAZ!, could you please fix your $%&$&§ download servers !!!
Since few days product downloads are broken all the time and thus exe's are often corrupt ... it's a pain.
And no, I'm sure problem is not on my side.
And another no, I tried Install Manager and don't want to use it.
Oh noooooo .... Forest Winter dl failed again and I have to reset the item coz available dls gone zero.
And yet another point: Would it be possible to release new products without doing things wrong in the store or on download page ?!?
Recently something is always messed up that gets fixed later on ... if I would do my job this way I would get fired.
Before doing agressive marketing you really should fix your %&/%/%%$ store problems to hold customers.
Just my humble opinion .... a pissed off customer ... Greetings

Are you using Chrome? Can you try a different browser?
Please not try to blame the customer side ... better kick ass of daz responsibles!
I'm using latest Opera and my connection is pretty stable ... only problems are with daz ... as always.
I had the same issue this past week. I tried downloading on five different browsers (Chrome, IE, Firefox, Safari and Opera) and none of them could download a full file and this is with a designated T1 connection and no "joy." I placed a support ticket and was told to clear my cache and cookies. Of course I dutifully did so knowing full well this wasn't the issue. DIM also wouldn't work. I decided to periodically refresh DAZ's front page (clearing cache each time) until I saw there wasn't any lag time. I then used Safari to download Aiko 5 Pro Bundle but it took forever. I really think (from my experience as a DB Admin and working on servers) that their servers aren't or weren't up to the demands placed on them when they released Aiko 5 or maybe there just having server issues. Regardless, I fear that the same thing will occur during March Madness.
The download stops at random and the file is corrupted, used up the first 5 and had to reset, and the sixth time it failed again. I'm just using plain Firefox 19, no accelerators, no proxies, no nothing. No problems downloading stuff from renderosity or any other site for that matter.
So what gives ? do I open a support ticket to ask for my money back ?
The problem is server-side, not with us. It's recent as well - I did a reset on most of my purchases in January for updates, and did a few monster downloads without issue. Prior to that, I hadn't had any problems either.
In the past week, I've downloaded a few items, and have had abrupt download cancellations nearly every single time.
Hi @awz4158,
I had similar issues this week. I finally used Safari to download my items but it was slow going. I really believe DAZ is having some issues with their servers. I filed a support ticket and was told to clear my cache and cookies, which didn't work. I also was using a very fast connection at work to download so it wasn't a router or modem issue. There are several different threads on this very topic.
Something definitely seems amiss at the moment. Downloads stop part way in, and now I can't access my cart, wishlist or account! Forum and store are fine though. Might be time for a tea break :)
Thanks guys ... good to know that I'm not alone LOL
Ah, so that's the problem...
Well, add my name to the list of the disgruntled wanna-downloaders!
Cheers,
Bud
BTW, lest an admin pop by and accuse me of using some rogue browser, I'm using Firefox. I assume that's supported...
Me too, for the first time in a few years. Pulling down two of the A5 files tonight, when suddenly >clunk< "source file cannot be read". I checked my router, since they do sometimes need rebooting, but no problems there, four lights. And it wasn't a plain incomplete download like I used to get, according to the error message (which I've never seen before) the files weren't there. Fortunately I use Firefox, so a click on the resume button a few minutes later had my downloads chugging along merrily again. Speed varied, but it never got too slow.
Definitely something weird going on, and it's not quite like the usual server hammering when a new shiny comes out and everyone's pulling down 500-odd MB each all at once. Maybe another CloudFlare glitch (again...) ?
I had the same problem. Out of four items ordered three DL'd okay. The fourth was "Fantasy Wrap for Genesis" which failed three times to download completely. It is a 128 MB file while all the others were half that size or smaller. I logged out of DAZ, cleared the cache in Firefox, restarted the browser, then logged back on to my DAZ account. On the fourth try I was finally able to download the complete file.
More rant ...
"Item by ID" redirections like "http://www.daz3d.com/i/shop/itemdetails/?item=15837" do not work since last server change.
This was really useful to quickly find a product page by item sku ... but now it's broken ...
It's 4 am here in Germany and I better go to bed before I say things that I should not say ... night all ...
Yea, same problem. for the last three days. YUCK seriously????
Cool, another reason to hang out and shop at other sites. I even have a 23% off coupon for elsewhere ;)
OK I ran a test, and discovered that a download of a file I had previously downloaded with no problems has indeed failed, So have flagged this problem up.
This was a manual download, not using DIM.
Merged a couple of threads on this issue.
good to know I'm not alone...
Big files get stalled and loads of corrupt downloads... DAZ this is not good!
Seems that it works if I only download one thing at a time. When I start a second download, both fail. I don't know if it's some clumsy attempt to make us use the download manager.
Actually I tried that and found smaller downloads went through fine, even 2 or more at a time, although the download rate was shared between them, so for example If i had been getting 180 kb/s on one download, I would get 90 on each of two. (my broadband is very much less than optimal, and this is an average speed for me at the best of times)
It was only when I finished downloading all the smaller files and started on a larger one that I had the download fail.
DAZ 3D has all along said that the DIM was not mandatory, so I doubt very much that this is a deliberate thing.
Still can't download anything larger than 25 mb, which means I can't get most of the lovely stuff I've been purchasing recently :(
Are Daz doing anything to fix this, because an online store selling software which you can't download is kinda useless! :)
Uh-oh
March Madness is just around the corner.
I know! And we can't download anything.
Bumma
Ok, the DIM is downloading large files for me now, but the manual approach still ain't happening!
Sorry guys, I think I stole your bits and bytes. Or at least DAZ' bandwidth, when I updated a couple of thousand items the past two weeks. I'm not sure how many Gigabytes I've downloaded, but you should get a (slightly) better connection from when I logged off yesterday morning. I had a hiccup when I couldn't download some of Deviney's large files (Difficulty downloading huge file) using Chrome (my browser of choice). DIM worked perfectly. I had to resort to what I loathe, Internet Explorer!!! Then I downloaded all the large files, the biggest one was around 500 MB's. What threw me off was that none of the 2D-files (Photoshop, GIMP etc.) was not listed in DIM, thus I had to 'manually' download them (picture me cranking a wheel to push bits through the ether).
Ok, a bit more serious. I've had my share of corrupted files, slow downloads etc., but it's not DAZ' fault, but the providers they use.
This is really ridiculous. Wish Daz would focus on fixing things like THIS and the non-existent renewal option for PC in the store, and mystery re-subscription issues, mysterious sale promises, etc before making the changes that most people DON'T want. :S
The servers they rent, belovedalia, is outside of DAZ' control. They'll probably send an inquiry of what is going on with CloudFlare, I direct your attention to this thread:

¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Edit. And, chohole, you posted in that thread back in September last year.
That maybe be true, if it applies to the current problems (that thread started a few months ago) but it makes it no less an issue for Daz to deal with, nor does it change the fact that there are a LOT of things that SHOULD be priorities to Daz but AREN'T.
... like getting their IPs off the blacklists to emails come through to people? Still missing emails and still nobody responding to my support ticket after a week of posting it :(
Well, any business should adhere to a few rules; a) get the money, and b) ship the product. They've outsourced the later part, because it's cheaper to rent space than keeping their own servers. I'm on line with you that if I get stiffed, I get peed off. But I think that since they use somebody with numerous customers, DAZ is not the only afflicted by slow download speeds and corrupt files.
It is weird that some of the browsers (in my case, Google Chrome) cannot download large files, in other instances cannot download smaller files to other browsers. I sense some sort of compatibility-issue that generates this, and hopefully they company they've rented through will retrace their steps back to when the services worked as close to 100% as possible, and see what issues are popping up that keeps people from getting their files they've bought.
So, in essence, it's far better that you scream and shout at me, than at DAZ, taking some of the pressure off their backs, of which they, for once, do not deserve. They've screwed up things due to this new software they got last year (and fell flat on their faces), and if it wasn't as serious as it was, then it would be comical.
Since then, they've learned a few things, and gotten pretty much on track on their part. There are some minor things they haven't fixed yet (like forum avatars), but I can wait until they've come though with some of the bigger issues - like getting on CloudFlares back about this mangled download on various browser-thingy.
I hope that'll give you peace of mind for a short while. DAZ can't afford to loose customers, so it's not that they actively are pushing us away.
Edit. Imagine DAZ pushing through the jungle towards CloudFlares temple...
...I've been experiencing the same thing happening, and that is when I'm at my neighbourhood hotspot (with a really solid and fast connection) to DL. I can expect corrupt files when I try to DL from home because my connectivity is so poor but at a hub which is on a high speed cable or Fibre Optic connection?
I cannot help but think this miserable excuse for\ site software still has part to do with this as it is the interface we have to go through to get to the servers.
Same here, Down Under. :( Haven't had trouble like this in five years or more. DAZ only. Have cleared cache and history. Still fails. :( Have burned through five attempts over last twenty four hours trying to dl Sickle's new rigging system. :( GRRRR.
Dear DAZ
Please reset everyones downloads.
An online store selling stuff than can't be downloaded is a BAD look. I imagine many people will hesitate to buy until they know the problem is fixed. Please fix it.
