Just for everyone's info, there seems to be a sneaky sale of Jack T's Platinum Club products (the Westside Park, Parkside, East Park, etc) stuff going on just now: $0.99, down from $1.99.

The easiest way to find out what's on sale is to list all Platinum Club items by ascending price, and the $0.99 items will show up first.

If the holiday season has left you any money at all, now might be the time to complete your collection.

West Park Ablutions as it's meant to be used! Well . . . more or less. ;-) Jack, this kind of thing is why I keep wanting clean versions of the same excellently distressed textures for these. As it was I worked up a quick tile texture in Genetica for the wall and then used shader presets for the mirror, sink, and pipes (postworked because the pipes, sink, and faucets are all the same material zone). DS4.5Pro render, prework & postwork in GIMP. Larger version in my deviantART gallery here.

in Poser you can create new material zones with the grouping tool, pretty sure Studio has the same sort of thing... somewhere

that would be the Polygon Editor Tool I refered to a page or two back.

True, but I've never used it. I was working to a deadline (the December 13th Platinum Club Inspirations contest ended midnight DAZ-time last night), and two renders plus a hand-painted transparency-mask is something I know how to do and roughly how long it'll take. (FYI: the transparency mask between the different sides of the mirror wasn't hand-painted, I used masking shader-presets and rendered it.)

This isn't "OMG the material zones on this thing are horrible!" -- useful as they would've been, there's only so much work you can put into a two-dollar product. But the excellently distressed textures had to start on a clean-texture version, however basic . . . if that had been included too it would've been awfully helpful.

Yep just select the tool and use that to select a poly or two right click to get the options, Create new Surface for Selected and Hide Selected are the ones I use often.
The Grow option comes in very handy if the mesh you want to hide or create new surfaces for are a separate mesh. But with careful tuning you can use grow for parts of a bigger mesh.

i totally get the deadline thing, really though, i do suggest learning the grouping tool, its an awesome set of skills to have in your tool box and can make things way faster for future projects.

the grouping tool is fast and easy, .... unless you get modelers like Jack who find all sorts of ways to put that one damn poly way down in some odd nook n cranny you just can't select the cotton pickin razzle frackin.......

Correction time: I called the DS tool the Polygon Editor Tool which infact is called the "Polygon Group Editor Tool" Alt+Shift+G

A very traditional Christmas card with the Shelter set in a little town like the ones down here. One other Jack structure... but mostly my own little buildings. It's my first try with Vue's particle snow with added extra snowfall. The Vue particles come out a bit dark IMO.

    Have a great Christmas.

It's making me feel slow. The weather is foul so I can't even walk it off as the woods will be knee deep in mud. There's more tonight as the meat is still going ...

I don't have these problems as I don't do xmas at all. I haven't sent anyone xmas cards in years, let alone pressies. And old St Nick should be dressed in Green not red..terrible state of affairs. My wife insists on having a nice meal though with no left overs.

I don't think it matters much what holiday anyone's celebrating this time of year, it's just a good time for EVERYONE to enjoy themselves and their family and close friends.

Nothing but good wishes in the New Year folks!! :-)

BTW Pete, love your new "holiday" avatar. :coolsmirk:

This is true MissB though I enjoy myself all the time with Christine which is my only family I have and I don't have any friends. :)

New Year well I like that.

Yeah I thought it was time for a Avatar change.
