I uniinstalled 4.9 and the associated files - then I downloaded the 4.9 for Mac and the associated files again - into a folder - and manually put them in the correct folders.  Then I clicked on the installer and it seemed to all install - but then it got stuck at this point (see attached image).  It's been stuck there for 3 hours.  Is this normal?

Wouldn't think so but can't say for sure, not sure how it works on a Mac. If the CMS is registering all your 8000 items or something, it could take a while.

If it remains stuck I'd cancel or kill it, then uninstall both DS and the CMS if possible, and try again. Or do a repair if that's an option (the installer may offer that option if you run it again).

I uninstalled and reinstalled it 3 times and and got stuck in the same place each time.  I uninstalled it and reinstalled my old DStudio 4.8 to see if it was still all working, and it's working fine.  I don't know what's wrong with the installer.  If I install 4.9 with DIM I can't use iRay, if I try installing manually it gets stuck.

It might be your anti-virus. I have a Dell computer and it wants to update the SupportAssistant. It shows a panel where it is downloading and it quickly goes to 80% or something like that and just stops. When I first got the pc, Dell had to do a remote session because they had to replace a failing drive. The SupportAssistant wanted to update then too and he had to turn off Webroot to get it to finish the download. But I hate to turn off my antivirus. Maybe you need to add the Daz Studio and the database to allowed applications in your anti-virus. I had to do that on my old machine come to think of it, because I switched a category in DS and I got the spinning dial forever.

Or maybe you should try to download the installer again. Maybe the one you are using is corrupt.

I'm on a Mac.  The anti-virus software I have allerts me every time there's any kind of problem, and I don't receive an allert with DStudio.  I search on Google and other 4.9 users reported the exact same problem.

I think you should file a bug report then, if you or someone else haven't done so already.

I got the impression that the bug reports are mostly ignored by DAZ and that you have to wait weeks or months (or never) for a solution.

Depends on what it is I think, I've seen content being fixed in a few days but DS bugs probably take longer.

  • Getting the same thing on a Mac. Latest OS, latest DAZ Studio,CPPU checked in both places on the advanced setting.  The only consistency is the level of frustration.  Thanks for the effort, but please don't bother. I just wanted to chime in with the fact that I'm having the same nonsense, where I didn't before.

    ugh.

This thread is from 2017, completely different DS and drivers.

Apparently some Nvidia certificate has expired June 1st on Mac's, no fault of DAZ
