One thing webmasters learn is to NOT use javascript on menus which are the core utility function. Case in point- when the javascript messes up, people are locked out of surfing the site. Well, I have logged in and out, cleared my cache, restarted my computer- AND THE LINKS ARE FROZEN, THE PAGES GRAYED OUT, SEARCH FROZEN. So I can't get to any of my products. There is a reason why the old fashioned click on a link was so popular folks, and it's possible to have a search function and image setup like this without javascript, I had it for years. I'm ticked. Venting. But serious about the basics in coding a website- you have to have a backup plan at a minimum- if the menu fails.
It's a sporadic problem that isn't effecting everyone. Case in point everything is fine and works for me but my wife is having a very similar problem with hers.
This is weird- I have two pages open from this morning- can surf from those. Can't do it though if I were newly trying to use the library from scratch, aka opening the site and surfing in. But if I was already on a page (from the wee hours of the morning or this morning, two separate times) those pages are functional and I can also use the numbers at the bottom of the page.
Still wrapping my head around DIM files- forgot to ask-
1. does the DIM include the texture files? (I think these are textures?) the trx.exe (for me, pc user, for mac, trx.zip)
2. if I only use DS (DAZ Studio) and there is a DIM file, do I need the Poser CF? (I already know about the Studio CF to the Poser DIMs. At least I'm making progress, lol)

I loved the tao dazhistorymanager and the downloader. I'm very sad that these things don't work anymore. Loved everything about these two softwares.
I'm on a mac and it took me a bit of fiddling before I finally got them working nicely on my mac computer using crossover. And I had only had them a few months when daz stopped these things from working anymore.

So has DAZ now officially abandoned what seemed to be the original definition of "tri-ax" as "a figure or morph set for the Genesis figure, using Genesis rigging"? IIRC there was a fair bit of confusion when we started getting things like scenery or vehicles called Tri-ax and we didn't know for sure until we installed them whether they'd still work as what we now call a Legacy product. I think I've figured out what's which now, but I still have a few non-Genesis items that can't be used in D|S3.
" trx is for TriAx, what is now generally referred to as DSON Core. The textures are included in the DIM files (in the DS version if it’s stand-alone, or in the Poser version if there’s just a StudioCF)"
okay, bear with me then. In the Product Library, the trx is not the textures, the textures are in the DIM. Got that. BUT
1. would I still get the trx.exe- the "DSON Core" then (as a studio user?) and the DIM?
2. would Poser users get the trx.zip?
3. is there no more DSON's in the product library then?

The trx tag was used on the Bitrock installers. Whether you use installers or zips you'll get the textures -- you don't need both installers and zips.
I wanted to refresh my memory too on DSON- from that other thread where you and Richard are trying to help that person- I found...
DSON is the default DS4.5 .duf format.
DSON is the DAZ Studio format - DSON Importer is the plug-in that will convert and load it into Poser.
So is DSON just for Poser users to help them use DS content?

No, DSON also has advantages within DS, and it allows the content to be used in Carrara8.5. Like the DSON Importer for Poser, once could also create DSON Importers for other applications.
So in summary, grab the DIM
Grab the DIM Studio CF file (which means the DIM is Poser)
Dont grab the trx's
Grab DSON if they have it?

I had problems using search or even just navigating the product library yesterday. Then this morning I got a Java prompt to update to the latest, which I did, and everything's working as it should now. So, make sure you have the latest Java build for your browser.

Java is not required for the DAZ site, only Javascript have to be enabled, to use all functions.
Java and Javascript are different things, and Java is not required, to use Javascript on websites.
Java is a security risk and should be disabled for use in browsers or better be deinstalled, unless one don't need it for Java Apps like Minecraft or programs like Open Office and Libre Office, which use it for some functions.
That the site works now for you is good, but it has nothing to do with the Java update, except that the browser was closed to install the update. It is more likely, that the Product Library page was fresh reloaded, after the restart of the browser.
It appears to have been fixed (able to use search function, numbered pages work) as of 4am. I'm able to use the Product Library without any issues. Didnt do a thing.
EDIT: they have extended the Monday sale so people might be able to get in their library to see what they have and haven't already purchased if they need to.

Mine started functioning again right after I updated Java, as well. I've seen others saying the same thing. In fact, it was a post here at DAZ that led me to try this.

OK, I just disabled Java in the Firefox 20 plug-ins console and the product library is still working properly. I'll uninstall Java now and see what happens.

I uninstalled Java and the only thing wrong with the product library, now, is that some of the page numbers on the bottom disappear. There are a couple of empty boxes where there should be a number showing.

The page numbers on the bottom have not disappeared, but DAZ has chosen, to use a nearly invisible color combination at the selected page. The number is white (FFFFFF) onto a very bright grey background (FCFCFC). I hope, DAZ will change it into something with better contrast. When you mark the numbers, they become visible.

Oh, wow! lol That's crazy. Thanks for pointing that out. :) All is working as it should then, it seems.
One thing I am NOT liking- I used to do the p=5 or p=34 etc to jump ahead in the alphabet. (up in the URL bar.)
This new one the URL does NOT change, you have to clicky clicky through all the pages - although it's fast it's a pain.
EDIT- DAZ_Jon- am I missing something? A different way to get through the pages? I must compliment DAZ though, you can sure click through fast- MUCH faster than the old way.
We have implemented a new feature where (if there are more pager buttons than can be shown) the current pager button is actually a text box where you can enter in whichever page you wish to see.

Seems it is already corrected, when the page is loaded with a cleared cache, the selected page number is black.
