    Hey Walt,

You can always use super glue! That also works and has really strong adehsion, and dries very fast.

I suggest using 5 min epoxy.  It's very strong and less brittle than using super glue or crazy glue.  The hardest part is to hold the broken piece in place until the glue sets.  I sometimes use a small piece of blue masking tape to hold it for 5 mins and then removing it before the glue fully dries.

Thanks, I’ll give it a try.

Loving these, and wow, those wings!

I did get my first blog post up and sent you the link the other day.  No rush on mine, I've got plenty of other stuff to do lol.

Today, we are documenting the WIP of an entirely new Daz 3D figure in the Making.
    Day 1 - 3D Printing.

We use high detailed resin and SLA printers to get the most details to the tiniest microns for our figures. Check out the pics for the aftermath of 3D printing, and if you have any questions drop us a line.

Wow! My respect for your artist-team grows with every single print I see and receive!

    What I've learned so far...

    • Be extra careful with "thin" details on your model. For example, LAMH hair/fur on a 2 inch figure will probably look like bad hairday explosion, look fairly okay on a 7 inch figure, and will probably rock on a 12 inch one.
    • Wings: GamePrint does a fantastic job there with the details, but wings also will suffer from the "scaleup" thickening process when the model is smaller size.
      • From what I've seen in the 12 inch sections, the wings there work fine. I am really curious as to how the wings on the centaur model will turn out.
      • With the 7 inch option, the scale is a tiny bit too thick for the model with unfolded wings.
      • If in doubt, with smaller scales, it's probably best to leave out unfolded wings, or fold them against the body/trail them on the ground so the connection to the back isn't the only thing carrying their weight.
    • Details: as was already pointed out a few times, making detail renders is the best way to help the artist who paint the figure. I can't believe what a fantastic job they did with all the figures I ordered so far (I'll post the blue wolf and the winged guy once the present has reached the birthday person). Even for "standard", the attention to detail is amazing, and falls into step with the top-notch job that was done in preparing the figures for the painting.

So what BMKay says about fibremesh hair on a 2" beta figure - should I resubmit my model for a 2" beta without fibremesh hair? Since I didn't get a message saying there was a problem I figured it was OK: Of course maybe your team hasn't progressed to that beta model yet given how busy you are.

Here's my 2 inch wolf from the Beta (preview print pic only)- it's the regular AM Wolf 2 with his LAMH fur turned object. The size and detail considered, it's looking good, but in comparision to the 7 inch version (not shown here), you can really see the difference. It looks like a lot more like sheep's coat and is longer fur than the guy actually has.

EDIT: Here's the rendered version for comparision:

OK, thanks. It does look like sheep wool. Still looks good but I can see that trying to paint it to look like straight fur isn't likely to work.

Thank you BEE for your excellent endorsement and we couldn't agree with you more! 12" models give the character more fairness and assure those thin areas are not swollen up and thickened.

Renders are our painters best friends, so we welcome them! The Centurian will look amazing, and we hope you let us feature it!

Thanks, and I'd be thrilled if you'd feature it here! I am already wondering how you'll get the thing stabilized with the fairly thin legs and all those wings!

@nonesuch00 By the way, here's the 7 inch wolf with the LAMH hair and paint. Unfortunately, there's no good light for taking the picture, so the beautiful shading on the wolf is totally washed out in the photo. But as you can see, the 7 inch wolf also suffers from slight knobbling of the fur, though it's not as bad as with the smaller version. Gameprint will probably have to develope an algorythm just for the LAMH fur, who knows.

I think that's typical of wild think hair animals that aren't groomed so in the 7" case I think it works really well, although still a big challenge to paint (speaking for myself, I don't think Game Print workers would have a lot of trouble painting it)

@Gameprint , thank you for posting these! The paint job does look amazing, I totally love the details, and so did birthday girl! smiley

The second package is still in the mail, so I can only post the winged guy later.

@nonesuch00 true, real anymal fur isn't combed, but if you go by "smoothed surface as presented on the model", it is quite a difference in the body section and tail. The end results looks good, and would probably looked a lot better on 12 inch. I'm not even sure what a proper way to deal with all the fine fur details would be in preparation. I mean, if there's something that I can do in the pre-submit process, that would be great to know.

Well as test I submitted a boxer (man not a dog) with both fibre mesh hair and eyebrows so it will be interesting to see that hair given the lack of detail at 2". It was not even so straight as the wolf hair. Maybe you will need to model polygonal wolf hair?
