Comments
I like to keep constructive criticism , if it really is that. because its helpful. But when it comes to YouTube I just figure comments are like opinions everyone has one. But I do have kids that will watch some of my animations so the real bad comments get blocked. Rating don''t mean anything . I had a person troll me that had about 20 YouTube counts just so they could make bad ratings.. silly I know but there are people like, that same person followed me to sharecg.com as well and caused all kind of crap there for people as well. I'm not alone there are all kind of people that have the same story when using social media , Its to bad these people can't put that energy into something creative, like making their own daz animation if they don't like mine. But they rather just insult, complain and hate you know the routine. But I had runblefish.com make claims against music that I paid for from renderosity, that took a few weeks to clear up . then I had a company call CD baby hit me for my guitar covers of my playing my guitar and post it on line... they work for record companies & i-tunes putting ads on anyone videos doing cover music of the band heart.. I pulled all my heart cover music videos for that reason. there wasn't any word, nothing just an acoustic guitar..lol and they hit me for copyright infringement so it must have been pretty good..lol
so it must have been pretty good..lol
Lol. I love that.
The thing about comments is, I see a ton of stuff everyday, but only comment on stuff that is really moving.
So it has to either very positive or very negative to get someone typing. Humans are lazy,. Most of life is meh.
I find the harshest lens comes from people who haven't done anything - themselves, but imagine what they would do to be incredible.
They usually start with "If I did that..."
I remember when my life changed.
It was when the tests started saying SHOW WORK.
Ughh oh...
I couldn't just show up with a number and say here.
I know what you mean. I just do the 3d animations stuff for fun. I don't expect people to really take them as serious animations. I don;t have tat kind of experience and I never make claims to be a professional. and I always post this animation was made with daz studio. Some of the animations I make can be a lot of work some not so much. I have a lot of people compare my Daz animations to Sims if fact i was asked by google if i was using sims once.
I can only speak on my experiences as a person who has never
tried to monetize any of my YT uploads.
My oldest YT video is eight years.
In that time I have gotten ONE notice from YT
About the Music being from John Williams who composed
the scores for Star Wars.
IIRC They basicly warned me that if I tried to monetize this vid
half of my "earnings" would subject to being redirected
to whomever owns John williams Catalog(John williams presumably)
The video is still live
![](http://img.youtube.com/vi/QQSQyT7XAGU/0.jpg)
I know many people who upload vids just to show friends ,potential clients etc.![cool cool](https://www.daz3d.com/forums/plugins/ckeditor/js/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/shades_smile.png)
And dont bother with the monetization thing
and they never get these terse requests to prove they own the 3D models
and such...what nonsense.
So yes not every ones expereience is the same on YT.
Just FYI I only use My Islamic name in online transactions
(Anabran Abdhul Quarnain)
My U.S. born name that is attached to my government SSN is never used anywhere online.
I litrerally cannot find "myself" with a google search
I find alot of guys with the same name but not me.
This is how people perform what is called "Doxxing" you online
they make a bogus Claim against you on YT or similar
and you hand over all of your personal info in your defense and soon you are being stalked/by some
anonymous miscreant who was not using his real info.
YMMV
I've had some people try to doxx me but they invariably fail when they find out I'm not interested in what they think about the world or me. I did have to make my FB page friends only because some (unfortunately more than 1) doxxie types stalked me from Unity forums to FB forum to threaten me and that's very bizarre. Even had a pair of them reserve a book they knew my local library wouldn't have and then had the local library call me to say the book I had asked to reserve was available now so they were in fact impersonating me to try and get me into trouble. So I block them and move on. Yes, I will quickly forget rude comments, delete them, block them and be more likely to remember what I ate last week then someone's 'keep it real' trolling insult.
As far as filtering comments for other guests on YouTube, you bet I would or block them too. The thing is if I'm in a room that stinks I do the sensible thing and leave the room. 'Keeping it real' is just code speak to call you a sissy and to try and intimidate you into allowing yourself and others to be mistreated by the person 'keeping it real'.
How old are they, twelve? Why would not picking up a book even get someone into trouble? My library would just hold it the normal amount of time then send it back.
They thought they were getting me in trouble because they are the type of people that believe that anyone that doesn't subscribe to the world as they see it is going to get in trouble and deserve to be harrassed, ostracized, and bullied by people like themselves. So in their minds they thought they were 'outing' me as someone that voted Y and that I would be ostracized by the gossip and hate that followed me for voting for that Y once they librarians set their mouths in motion. Of course, I had to tell the librarian I'd never called the library in my life.
And these people were well into adulthood but I've learned human behaviour has little to do with age really, although some troublemakers stop making trouble once they get into bad enough trouble but there is usually not much correlation with age but more association with peer group interests.
Your very lucky my friend. many of us that post story animations to youtube have been hit even without monitizing. count your blessing . "one person a crowd does not make ." Yoda quote. from revenge of the sith. gotta love Yoda :)
I've had people want to over-credit me and it bothers me.
"I'll say you did this" - like it's a kind gesture. When, in many cases, it's stuff I wouldn't do or wasn't done in the way I'd do it.
Sometimes people get excited over small amounts of input.
Overall, I don't like the feeling of being owed or owing.
Rather do it myself and skip discussing what I'm going to do.
This is a very informative thread, I'm glad I stumbled upon it. Thanks
I know this is an old post, but I'm sure people still come across it if they have the same question.
Daz3D reserves the right to determine where their trademark can be used. You need to ask them permission before giving them or any of their artists credit in a shortfilm. I asked them for a shortfilm I'm working on, however after sending them a synopsis of the story, they declined (both logo trademark, content and artist credit) because of the violent nature of the screenplay.
If you give Daz or any of their artist credit without asking for permission, they can have it removed from any streaming platform for copyright infringement.
I don't even want to comment on this necro-thread, but if there's some interest because 'someone might see it' - then...
I think there is confusion on what "Giving Credit" means.
From a dictionary, because resorting to a Dictionary is always appreciated in online discussions. [that's sarcastic for those who don't know].
CREDIT 1. publicly acknowledge someone as a participant in the production of....
From a technical sense, there is an implication that this 'credited entity' somehow endorses or is party responsible or represented...by the work. Even in your scenario, there is no reason or need to use any logo or trademarked item in your credits. None of these entities WORKED with you or SPONSORED your work or were in any way INVOLVED with the CREATION of your work.
What most want to really do, is GIVE A SHOUTOUT to the wonderful vendors and Daz Store for making their dreams of 'being a creative' come true.
Like "Without the Daz Store and it's talented roster of Published Artists, this [insert work] would not have been possible".
And THAT line is usually reserved for whoever supplied the monies/sponsored/commissioned/etc....even that loose a 'credit' STILL implies awareness.
-------------------------
From a Practical Sense, and here is where the trouble starts, it's usually the feeling had by people early in their creative career who feel the need to credit the creators of the assets they use.
Early creators are so happy to be creating that they want EVERYONE to get credit and share their joy. I understand this feeling and have felt it too, but there's no need for a personal story here.
When a creative injects enough of THEMSELVES in a work, THEY get the credit for the creation of the work and the assets remain tools and resources, not the work. If a person who enjoys your work says "That's an incredible dress" you say 'thank you' because you CHOSE that dress. YOU gave that dress prominence in your work. IF someone asks where they can get the dress, that's a question from a PEER. And it's answered on a creative-to-creative level: It's [insert name of dress] by [Insert Vendor] from [insert the place you bought it]. That's not anything a person who is meant to enjoy your work needs to know or probably wants to know- it's just a compliment.
From an Artistic sense, here's where it really gets bad, it should ideally be the reverse, where THE VENDOR is so impressed by THE WORK that they refer to it- without needing your help.
So these Vendors would be saying things like "...as seen in [insert your KNOWN stuff]". Or Daz might say " as seen in or used by [insert KNOWN property] ....".
If citing the assets and tools you use to create the work add credibility, that's problematic.
Again, it should be the opposite. The work on the creative end should be so well done, that PEERS are impressed that Daz Assets were used.
Like "You did that with Daz?!".
The Technical part is my observation, the Practical part is my opinion and the Artistic part is my attitude.
