And kudos for all the hard work, but shouldn't the company monitor the forum as well and guide product creation according to the desires of their customer base and isn't this forum a great place to mine said information?
I hope they do but previous experience seems as if the info is ignored and they just make another YAWG..... "Yet another white girl" . We're oversaturated with 'em. We need more diverse figures and more male figures.
The forums represent a very small part of the customer base, and what is requested in the forums quite often does not translate in what the customer base as a whole will purchase. This has been stated quite a few times by PAs and DAZ representatives....
Considering that with not many good male figures getting published - often with low incentives - low sales compared to the ump-tieth version of a Fairy - thrown out to the buyers with lots of free and/or interesting stuff - does help to make "males don't sell well" a selffulfilling prophecy, that statement isn't very astounding. Bring out more quality male figures with incentives as interesting and see what happens then.
But I don't expect that to happen, as churning out lot's of the same figures is easier for PAs then to come up with something interesting, that might not sell as good. So DAZ would have to give them PAs some incentive to take risks...
And sometimes releases (especially from PAs) do line up with suggestions in the forums. But comments in the forums are suggestions, not orders. And as you said, only part of the picture for what people are buying.

I know he's not a Daz Original "8", but Harrison was recently released for Michael 8, and I think he fits the bill for "handsome guy with great body." He doesn't come with clothes, but he does come with fiber eyebrows and beard. I've really been liking the renders I've done with him.

It will be more interesting for me to see the theme(s) included with the next realistic male. It seems like the authentic themes like police, construction, fireman, and so on come out as seperate clothing sets rather than as part of pro bundles.
For me pro bundles for men are one of the few ways I can get new gen 8 male clothing.
I can always use more hunks.

Will the end of the year bring back some "classic" figures ? Gia 8, Gianni 8, Mei Lin 8, Lee 8, Lilith 8 ???
No telling but it is getting close to Halloween so maybe a Lillith type? I don't know who the Goth male equivalent is. I doubt they'll be another Damien, Annika, & other demon types since they were so recently in Genesis 3. Unless those sold like hot cakes I think DAZ would continue to test new niches like with Ollie, Edie, Mabel, Floyd, Sakura, Dwayne, the Alien chick, Edward, & Alexandra Even LaTonya & Penny were a bit unusual.
I *think* the only uniquely G3 figure base to have made a reapearance so far has been Mika. All of the others to have gotten repeats have been originally generation 6 or earlier. So any of those listed seem possible. And we've got something like 9 months before the assumed ETA for G9, so we probably will get at least a few of those. And probably some more new ones.
I'm just wondering what the hell's going on with Mei Lin 8. Her FBMs were spotted in a few products a good while back and we've seen no further indication of her forthcoming since...
I am going to need a second mortgage to afford everything I have added to my wish list 'cause I am trying hard not to buy anything until Mei Lin 8 and Lee 8 come out.

And today I opened the site with anticipation (I'm not getting any mails anymore...) hoping to finally see a new M8 character, as it was the second tuesday in a month. But nope....

There's usually at least 2 weeks between releases, and Latonya was released last week only.
This is an example of the problem with going strictly by forum posts. When people are clamoring for a "handsome male characters" and a PA works hard to create just that not everyone is going to agree the character produced is handsome. I think Harrison is a detailed and great character, but not handsome in the least. That's my personal taste.
I do enjoy the conversation that PAs get involved in and when they are able to take feedback to meet the needs of someone. But sometimes the wish list by buyers are too vague and may not line up with a PA's personal taste and how they define physical charateristics.
I think the next figure will be a female version of the DAZ Troll named Trollopina 8...
...Nah, we're overdue for another generic white female who looks mostly like V8, so my guess is that's what we'll get along with another selection of clothing filled with random holes.

We are overdue for another offical non-specialized realistic male base character. Michael, Owen, and Lucas are the only three we've had, and we're close to 2/3 through the development cycle for G8.
We've had other male bases, but they all have had a niche. Darius is ethnic. Edward and Floyd are mature -- and long overdue since that's a niche that's been empty for a long time. While Ollie and Dwayne are both highly stylized.
And yet the only hints on pending releases we seem to get are female. Probably because all of the items which might come bearing hints in the fits are part of the plethora of female supporting products. If people did more male stuff we'd probably see more hints, But as it is we can only guess that there *might* be a Gianni because we've spotted a fit for Gia.
So, young-ish white male.
I'm rooting for more MOCs (males of color) myself. Any age.
I think you get neither, except maybe Lee 8. Maybe there will be a pudgy official male character. Maybe a Khosian or Pygmy. Maybe a midget. Maybe an Amazonian from deep in the forest. Maybe an Eskimo. Lots of possibilities they could choose.
I'd like more male TYPES. Novak is a type. Owen is a type. Ivan, Dante, Lucian, Leo, & Elijah are types. All of JavierMicheal's characters are types. I need distinctiveness, if not distinction.
Lucas is too bland to be a type. [Correction: Lucas is a Beta. That's his type. But I can make a Beta from the Genesis 8 Base.] Michael 8 looks like Michael 7 with the testosterone sucked out. Fortunately, Michael 7 for Michael 8 is available. I've been bugging Sloshwerks to do a Legacies morph pack of the G3M types, and now I'm thinking I wish they were HD too, because HD really adds to the distinction.
