would like utility script export / transfer raw art creatures like Minotaur6 to carrara, complete with geografts
Cheers.
This is always so annoying, when a feature was there; I mean I ignored the 'dimensions' option.
What would be a good accompaniment to this though, is the ability to make it always render with a specific camera.
Say I was using the main viewport for positioning a lamp; clicking the render button (or Ctrl R) would automatically use the 'registered' Camera.
It be nice if they changed the color of the aniblocks so you can read them when using dark style
Already replied in the other thread you posted this to.
Yes, white on aquamarine is light on light, something that happens in nature but not something you choose when designing a easily legible UI for customers.
I've not seen this asked for.
In IRAY there is the option to cast shadows onto to the ground.
What would be great, if it was possible to cast shadows onto a Plain. This plane could be positioned anywhere; the shadows would appear where it was positioned, but the plane itself would not.
It's use would be, as an example, to cast shadows on the ground, as normal; but also to position the plane where a wall was, the shadows would then be caught as though the wall was there, the saved png file could then be composited into the background.
This already exists. MEC4D has some great tutorials:
I was hoping it was. :)
Thank you.
How many times does this have to be said? An import/export option for Carrara is not the solution. The functions to make the Genesis 3s and geografts work like they should needs to be built into Carrara.
Light option to illuminate selected textures only.
I dont think it can be requested or stressed enough the importance of an auto back-up / auto save feature for DS. I am very big on saving very frequently in daz, but its impossible to keep up with it absolutely all the time.
I had Photoshop crash on me not long ago - which is totally crazy since its never ever crashed on me before in my life! I think because of a plug-in. Anyhow I had not saved any of the project what I was working on, and I knew it. When I opened PS again, I was greeted with a message saying that it crashed and much to my relief it loaded an auto saved back-up, and nothing what so ever was lost. I was ready to sail overseas to visit the Adobe office to give the team a big hug!
A fitting room for clothes. Its still a pain to convert high heels and Littlefox's older figures have lots of cute content. I am getting my V4 content over to G3 and its going great. I do like to make use of those older items. It kinda would keep me sane if heels could be fitted better and quicker. Also a few items get broken in autofit due to handles, like long skirts and dresses. Improvewments to autofit or expanding it would be nice.
In my experience improvements are made to autofit, since its first outing things have improved alot, it doesn't matter what you do automated conversion will always have some problems the best thing I believe is to rerig the items from scratch and you have that ability in DS.
I would like to be able to search by name in the reimport metadata screen. It is a pain to scroll through the list to find your items when you need to reimport metadata.
continued support manual downloads and offline computers
to quote black adder, haz a terrible feeling
Yes!!!! What is that box even for and how can I get rid of it???
What is node select?
I know it's probably already been suggested, but a morph brush type thing. Also, I'd like the "Visible in Render" off button to actually work ;). That way we can turn off mesh based emitters and yet still have the the light show up in the scene. If this is actually working, I haven't found it yet. For me, toggling this does exactly the same thing as "Visible", when the two are very different. Maybe I'm missing something ;). I'm still very much a noob.
Edit: Oops...sorry RAM...I really need to learn to read. LOL. Nice to see I'm not the only one tho :P

The number one thing I'd include would be a redesign of the content management system, and a definative naming/tagging format that all artists must follow. Tagging, because objects need a consistant naming convention - I should be able to search for 'belt' and find all types of 'things that are belts in my inventory - clothing belts, other types of belts, etc, not just things that happen to be named 'belt' or have 'belt' embeded in their filename.
Something that deals with the weird naming/object system Poser uses, and converts accordingly.
I agree about object categorization. Also I'd really like better directory and filing. I can find environments in environemnets and props etc. It is very hard to find things anymore.
I wish things like rigging were actually more easily accessible in DS rather than mystery tools only those who have braved an eternity of trial and error have figured out. It's so annoying that DS has all these really useful features and they're basically hidden away from most users with no official help in sight.
FWIW, I would PAY for a manual. But it would have to be a GOOD manual ;).

...
If I recall, back during the DRM "discussions", the a DAZ rep said that they were not going to mandate that our computers go online more than once, to "verify" us. Then, addressing a different customer concern, they said "We have no plans to do X at this time." Something like that, at any rate. (Two weeks or so later, DAZ did exactly what they had said they had no plans to do. I can't remember what it was, but I remember the outrage and the "Well, we said 'not at that time'".) We'll see.
Richard, how high would a Kickstarter have to go before you would agree to write a PDF manual for Studio 4.9? $50,000? $100,000?
At least I got the name of the program right.
This.
And graphic line draw view/render like P11Pro
An Integrated CG modeler module (as Carrara do). So to got a final solution for Genesis3 support in Carrara and an a solution for Hexagon update.
Heh, there is a gaping gulf between answering (some) questions in the forum and writing a manual, even resticting myself to the areas I know.
Oh, well excuse me for commenting on this thread. Won't bother in the future. People shouldn't ask questions then shoot people down for answering. Its not very nice. I stupidly thought the point was to find out what I wanted, not to tell me I shouldn't want that at all. People on the boards are very helpful with technical stuff, perhaps I'll ask how to rip those skirt handles off so auto fit doesn't chew up things. My thoughts will just be my own in the future however.
Still 3Delight support
