A cute thing about Apple monitors is they watch you back through a tiny little camera in the bezel :0)

I'm not sure "cute" is the first word that springs to mind.

Like the idea of a monster you can tame with a bit of blu tack :>)

My imagination already has created tons of scenarios for pranking it. Strategically placed printouts with pictures comes to mind. (Pictures like "goatse" and "lemon party" -- NSFW, and NSF Sanity either...)

Happy 4th. of July to all my fellow Americans, happy Thursday to everything else that isn't in Friday yet, happy Friday to anyone already there!

Warm in Austin, TX today - a perfect day to stay indoors and work on renders! My fridge is loaded up with hot dogs (well, fancy sausage) and I have beer for later tonight! Fun times ahead.

Now to get coffee, throw on my 22 hours of classical music, and start....

    ..installing content. (blank face)

As long as you don't have giant chickens or kilometer long pikes, you should be fine! Glad you didn't wash away!

First render of the day started! Breaking Waves with the kilometer-long pike and a ship.. I think the shading rate is too low for a test render, prbably have to go in and turn it up. What's done so far looks REALLY good, I'm impressed!

Once I have something halfway reasonable, I'll post it.

    Beeeer!

just realized the only american beer/ale i drink is Sam adams.

embarrassing but sometimes i try a beer just cuz of the name. like 'Blackened voodoo lager', was too interesting to pass up.

one trip, the beer distributor had 'ole peculier', it was light and sort of champagne bubbly. - liked it :P

After a brief examination, I think I'm kind of low on beer for the next 2 days - so I'm going to make a pilgrimage to the local mini-mart, which carries a ton of local microbrews and STOCK UP!

I need to go pay rent anyway, and this machine is tied up 100% rendering so that even Web browsing is slow.. seems like a good time to head out and shop!

I've bought a ton of beer based strictly on the name - some were good (Moose Drool Ale), and some were horrid (Bear Wiz Beer). For imports I tend to Heineken, or Spaten, or Strlla Artois - or English like Youngs.

Today I'm going to select 2 random six-pack microbrews with the weirdnest names I can find, just so when I'm sitting in chat I can tell people I'm drinking Drunk Mouse Amber or the like., I alreadyhave a six of St. Pauli Girl, a 24oz. Corona, and a 24oz. Modelo along with a tall bottle of Ranger IPA.

Mmmm... cheddar cheese bratwurst fried up in my new frying pan! WAY better than microwaving them.. (happy dance)!

A majorly successful beer run, before the weather heated up! (cool smile)

Got a six of "Dirty Bastard", a six of "400 Pound Monkey", a large bottle of Stone IPA, and a large bottle of Lagunitas lucky 13! No more fear, there's more beer! (frosty beer emote)

Ok, first render - kilometer long pike and ship with Breaking Waves. The realistic ocean really does make the scene, even with an hour long render time.

Sam Adams is very tasty - so is Guinness, which is my usual go-to beer when I'm out and it's hot.

But I like to try new things, so weird beers draw me like a magnet. Not to mention the mini-mart has the BEST selection of unusual beers I've seen since I came to Austin! (shocked face)

Urgh, time to load up a pile of Viking ships to be eaten...

It's super easy to use and pose, it doesn't render light lightning but it's worth the wait.

Just added more ships using instances.. let's see what happens.. (worry face)

Publix, a regional grocery chain, has a build your own 6 pack section. They have blank 6 pack holders and a rack full of bottles of all the different micro-brews and imports. I like to go through and grab 6 interesting sounding ones every now and then. A lot of misses but a few hits.

Import wise I tend to go for either Stella Artois, or Smithwicks depending on my mood.

This took 45 minutes to render - ships are DS instance nodes.. which actually kind of kick ass! Not a serious hoit on RAM, the scene as is takes 2.5GB (cool smile)

The more I learn DS the more impressed I am.. SOMEONE at Daz kows they're butt from a hole in the ground...!
