Don't worry about it. I'm not. There was nothing worth purchasing that warranted spending this much time trying to figure it all out.
I was really trying to figure it out in case something worth while showed up later in the week. But at this point it's not worth the headache.
Sorry for the confusion. We were not trying to make this sale overly complicated.
Each day there will be New PA items. Those will be their standard intro price (or like today, a building sale).
There will also be NEW DAZ O "Christmas in July" Items each day. These will be 70% off IF you buy one of the NEW RELEASE PA items released that day.
You must have the "Christmas in July" Items in your cart at the same time as the qualifying New release PA item for the discount to show.
I hope that clears things up. Short summary-- Buy One of the NEW RELEASE PA items, and get 70% off on the "Christmas in July" DAZ O item or items.
Okay, I thought I understood it at the beginning, but now I am totally confused. What is the list of previously released items called "qualifying new releases" for?
It's all very simple and can be expressed with the set of equations in the attached image.
Hope this helps.
Is that Friedmann Equation for R(t)? Critical Universe, Einstein - de Sitter part?

Yep. : )
And on the whole, just as easy to understand as most DAZ sales of late.
Meaning I don't really understand either. :D
Here's my shopping method during the recent sales:
Place all the items I'm interested in into the cart together >
Go to the shopping cart and see the total cost and the discount that has been applied >
If the cost is higher than I want to pay, I remove the least wanted items one by one until the total is acceptable >
Go to check out.
It may not be scientific, but it's easier on my poor brain than trying to do the math. : )
Yep. : )
Hehe :)
I am happy to hear that I am not the only one. I thought for sure that I was the only one missing something.
I have to say that these sales tactics (and the general attitude on the discussion board) has driven me to other sites to purchase content. Something that I would not even had considered a few months ago.
I wish the powers that be at DAZ (or at least the PAs) would take notice of this. It will eventually hit their bottom line (if it hasn't already).
Is it so hard to stop trying to be cute and creative? What's wrong with a straight forward sale? Particularly when the webstore itself is already so flawed.
At the very least, try explaining the sales with something more than one sentence on a single banner ad.
That promotions page is a nightmare. It just goes on and on and on with no subdivisions, rattling off a half dozen different unrelated deals that may or may not work together. With no explanation as to anything.
(And if there is another promotion for free products that I already paid for a month and a half ago, I swear I am going to loose my mind!)
i still don't see any christmas stuff.
maybe a 'bad santa' suit for M4, like that movie with what's his name.
Its not about Christmas or the spiriti of giving more like : getting......its the spirit of unbridaled marketing.
Those are items you can purchase to activate the 70% off on the NEW "Christmas in July" Items.
Really it should be simple and straight forward. Purchase one of the Qualifying items (from that list, or one of the NEW PA items released that day) and get 70% off the "Christmas in July" items.
No tricks, no gimmicks... Only complication is that qualifying items all need to be in the cart at the same time.
Hey Everyone,
Looks like DAZ_kevin has explained how the sale works. Here is a screen grab that I hope will clarify things a bit. If anyone still has questions let me know.
I'd still like to know why I was sent an email yesterday offering Faveral's construction set at 50% of but it is actually only 30% off.

aww shucks, i was completely fooled. looking for the christmas
The confusion came about because you use the same phrase twice to describe two different lists of items. You say buy a "New Release" and get a "New Release" at 70% off. But no where does it ever differentiate between what is one new release and what is the other new release.
Then when you get to the shopping cart you can't even tell what discount is being taken. Since there's one price (with one discount already deducted) then another deduction later with no explanation of what it is.
I go to the promotions page to try and figure out the sale and I feel like I am buying a used car. 40% off here, but 50% off if you buy two and if you buy three, then 30% off of these items, and if you buy one of these at 30% then you can have 45% off on these other items. I'm just waiting for you guys to try and sell my floor mats and under coatings.
If you don't believe me, go to the promotions page and count how many times the phrase "Buy Any New Releases Above..." is used.
I've been waiting on the answer for that one myself.
I got an email someone did answer but removed the post, I can't help but wonder why and who it was.
I did put in a support ticket with sales but am still waiting to hear.
I just got an email from sales saying the sale had been corrected and extended for another day, but the sets are still at 30% off -does anyone actually know what is going on in the store, the emails that are sent out or anything.
That "2 DAYS ONLY - 50% OFF" in the Daz email was yet another promotions team "mistake". I posted about it here:
http://www.daz3d.com/forums/viewreply/379229/
The graphic in question has since been updated to show "UP TO 50% OFF"

Yes I saw your post and posted in that thread myself. Where has anyone from Daz said it was a mistake, sorry if I missed it but even if it was they should still stick to it.
Sending out an email with an offer only for the customer to get to the store and find that that offer was a mistake really is false advertising.
I wouldn't mind so much if they did just come out and say sorry mistake but they won't they are just avoiding the fact.
Britany has replied again asking for a screen shot of the email I got the fact that I sent one attached to the first support ticket seems to have been missed by her.
I don't know about the consumer laws in America, but I do know they exist, if Daz's marketing isn't careful they might well find themselves on the wrong end of it.
And we have another outfit lacking footwear. Either the female Genesis/V5 is tottering around the wilds on spiked heels or the G2F/V6 is barefoot. There seems to be no happy medium in all this.
I don't know about anyone else but this sale has me so confused I threw up my hands in disgust and decided to take my money elsewhere. At least those sites tell you when the sale begins, when it ends, if there are coupons they tell you what you can and cannot use them for. There aren't even any little annoyances of you must have this in your cart to get the discount on that.
...I totally gave up on it, nor so much because of the confusion as it was items I really would not use.
I'll just stick to watching the Fastgrab.
