VERY BIG none complaint: Due to the fact I'm no longer on Dialysis and that I've lost some body weight, a no no for renal folks, I'm now allowed light sour cream and cheese made from low fat milk as a treat to help add fats/calories to my diet. That part is great. The best part is I'm about to enjoy my first taco salad, minus the guacamole (not allowed), in almost 5 years. I'm so looking forward to it.

Sale was extended an extra day and I still missed it. :shut:

Too damn busy this week!

Need a break from the chaos.

Hope everyone else is doing well. I haven't exactly been able to follow the thread or forum lately.

    Good news. Enjoy!

I'm missing being able to eat tomatoes unrestricted. Oh well, not a big deal. ;-)

...excellent, always good to eat foods again that you like.

Me, I still have to stay away from egg yolks so I have to get those pourable egg whites on a carton. Also can't do wings anymore as the combination of hot peppers and vinegar does a number on me (even though I still do Cajun [I substitute either Tapitio or Secret Aardvark for Tabasco] and make Thai Curries & Vietnamese Hot Pots that would melt the icepack in Antarctica).

...awww bugger, ebots went on a wildcat walkout again. Fortunately only a couple pages behind this time.

Wooly, I just checked on cab fares and yes you can get a monthly bus only pass in Austin for less than a single trip between The hotel at the airport and downtown (and that is not including tip). Average fare is 34.40$ depending on traffic (as I mentioned, they use a timing meter as well).

Currently watching a render cook away with lots and lots of plants and 33 high res flutterbys.

Used Send In the Clones Pro to create them all . First tried the Matrix setting and think I overdid it as it just kept going for well over an hour when suddenly I received a system warning that I was running low on memory. Well guess that's one way to choke the beast, create 512 flutterbys (8 x 8 x 8 matrix - I kind of underestimated as I thought it meant only 8 per axis [24 total], that option needs more clarification than the tutorial offers). Was able to shut it down and let everything clear from memory before trying again. The second time I just created them in line (32 + the seed). Took only a few minutes, but I had to position and pose them all manually so I'm not sure how much I actually gained. Still they look so much better than using the "Swarm" option in Ultimate Butterfly as that uses low res versions so they can be animated (which was part of the reason I kept getting the fringing effect in the last pic I did with them).

1 hour 26 min and two thirds of the way through at 1,200 x 900.

...and this is just a test to check positioning and shadows.

...I DON"T BELIEVE IT!!!!!!!! (someone pinch me)

Checked the store page to see what's new, and came across THIS!

    http://www.daz3d.com/new-releases/light-dome-pro-r

My original favourite light set, which I thought I would never, ever see again is back, and apparently even better. It even includes some of the features from MoodMaster as well Can't use the Photoshop tools (unless they work in Elements - I might be able to scrape up the finds for that when it's on sale), but to get the high quality skydomes and lighting options again makes it more than worth the price.

Heh... I was just about to PM you KK to see if you'd seen it or not - I recalled how glum you were when the fate of the previous LDP was made known.

...still, thank you, it's the thought that counts.

Now I just have to scrape up the funds before the introductory sale ends.

Just watched the promo videos (the 8min one and the 23min one)... not seeing anything there that couldn't be done in GIMP. A similar macro should be possible to load up the various layers...

... heh... when I first saw the product blurb in the store, I thought it was "live adjustments" withIN DS... but reading it carefully shows that no, it's NOT actually doing something fancy like Blender's Cycles preview, it's just "live adjustments IN PS" >_<.</p>

I'm guessing you'd use the GIMP as well, KK?

Good morning, TGIF and all that! Can't wait for the weekend!

    COMPLAINTS! :snake:
    - Insane nightmares all night :ahhh:
    - Accomplished nothing useful last night
    - Going to be stupid hot and I have errands to run after work
    - Shoulders hurt like heck
    - Fussy tummy

    Non-complaints:
    - Ton of beer at home so no beer shopping needed
    - More vacation money on prepaid card this evening!
    - New cell phone and shoes this weekend, and a haircut! ;coolsmile:

Other than that, hoping to work on Zombie Nurse this weekend, as well as get WAR VIXEN into the tentacle eyeball forest. I need to learn best practices for creating and storing characters as I need to do this for all my illustrated serials. :-S

Protip: microwaving an already-fried veggie burger turns it into the toughest rubber. Do not do. :blank:

Ooooh ooohhh maggots on sale at Rendo! :cheese: :cheese:

I need maggots for the rotting flesh of victims of various monsters! How cool is that? :)

It sounds weird to say: "Today I bought some hair, a swamp, and some maggots." :blank: :blank:

I found a companion for WAR VIXEN!!!!! :bug:

I present to you - WAR HUNK! http://www.daz3d.com/new-releases/gladiator

..Ok, they call him Gladiator, but honestly.. WAR VIXEN has more on! This dude is going to get pneumonia! :gulp:

Into my wishlist, because sometimes.. your WAR VIXEN needs a date.. and suitably impractically dressed MEN are pretty much impossible to find!!

Thanks to DAZ for giving the men some impractical combat-wear! :smirk:

*I feel pretty snarky today.. be warned*

The only bad part is trying to explain to your co-workers and online friends why you're not going out.. "Oh yeah, I spent my fun money on some goodies... uhh, 3D models for my art. you know.. uhh.. well, hair, a swamp, and maggots. Yes, maggots. Why are you running away?" :blank:

Its really not much different to a traditional artist (Or Non-CGI artist) buying paintbrushes, Paper, Paint, Graphite etc. But when you say, "I spent my fun money buying a swamp, hair and some maggots" well, I can see the misconception ;-P

I suppose if I stayed non-specific it'd be easier for a layman to swallow. "I spent my fun money on 3D art supplies for my artwork." is far more digestible...! :gulp:

But not nearly so much fun as seeing the reactions to the specific purchases. :coolsmirk:
