Coupons also exclude anything on the Christmas in July thing. No tell a lie my total goes from $26.02 to $25.68 with the $2 coupon code applied.Well I was going to buy something, then you offered me a coupon (no make that two as I appear to have an email one HOT-5) neither of which work properly. So now I can't be bothered to buy anything at all.
The $2 off coupon code should apply to any order, even Christmas in July items. We are looking into this to ensure the coupon code works properly. The 5-HOT coupon code will not work until July 26th. Remember we run everything on MST. You must use the coupon code on the day listed.
*Edit* The issue with Christmas in July items has been fixed.
I can confirm this. I've just nabbed myself Parkside Head for the grand sum of zero cents. ;-P
Well thanks for looking into it. I got a $5 off coupon in the email entitled: Top Sellers 30% Off - Plus Take $5 Off Your Next Purchase! Coupon is due to end today. That's the other coupon that is not working for me with the Christmas in July items.

Heh. It's days like this I miss my PC subs.
Could you post a screen shot of the email(s) you are referring to?

I can foresee confusion here. There is a coupon code HOT-5 due to expire today, and a coupon code 5-HOT which can only be used tomorrow!

You would think I could keep track of the coupons we have *sheepish grin* I'll look in to HOT-5 and see what is going on.
*Edit* the issue seemed to be related to the priority that Christmas in July applied. HOT-5 should work on Christmas in July items now. Remember HOT-5 requires you spend $25 or more.
Thank you! It is working. I have done my shopping.

Jared: Can you fix the coupon priority of the monthly PC coupon so I get the full $6 discount? It's applying the PC discount before the Christmas in July discounts also.
THANK YOU Jared, without is thread I honestly would have missed todays coupon, since the email hasn't shown at my inbox yet (starting to get used to it being late ;) )Anyhow, did some last minute hsopping thaks to this, now.. off to bed *grins*
Thanks for the heads-up, Jared. Just got me a free PC item. Very happy.
I Guess the Daggers are not completely free with this coupon code?
Coupon code :2-HOT -$2
Dagger Dreams $6.99 - Freebie with purchase.
I put it through anyway.
I know It's not a huge amount, but its the second time its happened to me with a freebie item.
So... it's definite now that DAZ seems to dislike Europe.
I got the eMail yesterday at 23:00 (that's 11pm in Europe). Too bad that it was one of the days where I finally managed to get to sleep before midnight.
I found the eMail this morning at 8:15 European Time, which meant that I missed the coupon by exactly 15 minutes, since we are exactly 8 hours ahead of you.
A coupon valid for 24 hours, sent out 9 hours before it expires and at a time where half of the western world is in the middle of the night, making sure that folks can't read it in time.
Thank you DAZ, great service! I hope you had a good laugh :-(
Note: I don't complain about missing $2. As a matter of fact, I don't care about missing $2 - there will be other savings, and the best saving of all is not to buy an item at all. However I am upset about a company that spends exactly 0% on thinking about what they actually do and what impact it may have on customers. Except for complaining that we all don't buy enough of course.
I have to agree if it hadn't been for another post I saw in the members forum just before I went to bed I would have missed this as well, being in the UK.
Got up to the email in my listed email address this morning to late.
Please remember you have customers from all over the world in different timezones.
Thank you though for the coupons.
According to the full header on the email this was sent at 15:45 BST, so 16:45 European time, which equates to 08:45 Daz time.
The delay is therefore on the routing of emails, not on DAZ 3D's part in sending the email.
I received my copy much earlier in the evening than you apparently did, and I use Yahoo, which is well known for being tardy in relaying mass emails such as the DAZ 3D ones.

Too late for me ... Europeans are not exactly Daz's first thought.
According to the header, mine was sent Thursday, 25. July 2013 at 21:44 Uhr. Great timing ...
And I would go even further in this special case and add: Making a coupon valid for only 24 hours and keeping this a secret for the first 15 hours is a nuisance even for US customers. Because it means that this is - by no means - "a 24 hour" coupon but rather "a 9 hour" coupon.
How about this - a warehouse announcing a free coupon of $100 valid for a full year! And in the small print: The year started 366 days ago and ended the day before the advert. Wot a pity.
Dear DAZ, if you introduce a 24 hour coupon - fine. But then tell the people 24 hours before it expires, no matter if they live in USA, in Europe, on the North Pole or at the backside of nowhere. But this "9 hour" joke simply makes me angry.
If I order something from DAZ, I get the mail within 10 seconds or not at all (depending on if DAZ is on a global malware blacklist again).
So if your "service" takes 10 hours until the mail actually is sent towards my provider it is NOT my fault and NOT the fault of my provider, because otherwise I would get every mail with this delay.
So Oh - maybe DAZ didn't know? Now you know: Dear DAZ, your eMail newsletter sucks, because it delays for hours, and hours, and hours, and hours, and hours. Please consider switching to some professional system. Thanks. And roll my $2 coupon and shift it through some suitable hole of your choice inside your body. Did I say that I'm angry? Stupid excuses tend to make me more angry... ;-)
not sure what time it was in US when they sent the letter, but according to the header of mine.. it was sent 23.34 july 25 (swedish time)
I hadn't got the mail when I went to bed a few minutes after midnight, but I did have it in my mailbox when I woke this morning. However, since Jared had put up this post, I was still able to take part of this first coupon. So I am quite grateful truth to be told *send hugs and cake to Jared*
posted the screen to show what header it is I see on my email, not sure if there's possibly to go deeper into the header and see more of it, to get more info.. but what I wrote above is based on what I see in the screenshot :)
Also, be aware that I assume that the 23.34 is swedish time, so what time that was at Daz headquarter I am not sure (I completely suck at learning the different timezones, and to tired to check it up now ;) )
I also want to add, that if they had not liked us European buyers, they wouldn't have bothered putting this thread out, as I highly doubt Jared would have put it out if he wasn't allowed too. So they do like us as much as the ones on their own timezone, and they tried to help as much as they could with this thread.
Would it be better if the mails could come at once, most proably. But I also got to learn a few things over at Members forum (I think) when I was sort of annoyed/whiny over the fact that the emails always comes hours/a day later to me. (Can't find the thread right now) Either way, I would be happy if the newsletter could come faster, but I also accept (grudgingly) that it don't... and hope that I don't miss out on too many sales. I try to see it similar to those sales a few stores have now and than in town, nothing has been told about it in the paper or anything, you will find out if you pass by and see the sign. Sometiems you catch them sometimes you miss them *shrug*
*eyes the wall of text*
And this got a lot longer than I had planned.. ah well, hopefully it's understandable :)
Just for the sake of accuracy... and to explain that I wasn't just nitpicking.
I now checked the entire mail header source. According to the lowest entry, the source was sent:
According to the highest entry the mail entered my provider:
Which means that there was a "delay" of exactly 32 seconds, which is reasonable. Apart from that, the eMail was sent hours too late (5pm local time on the origin) by whatever system of DAZ and at a time when the coupon was already mostly gone.
The email was sent around 1:45 PM local time. I apologize if there was a delay for anyone receiving it. The reasoning behind this thread was to make customers who might not receive the email aware of the savings opportunities. Unfortunately we all live in different time zones. Things like this are bound to happen, it is the consequences of living in a global society. We took steps to try and ensure the majority of our users were able to use the coupon. In the future we will be more aware of those in other time-zones.
Should be fixed in a minute or so.
Thank you for the clarification, however I would (still) like to point your attention to the fact that the actual core of this problem has little to do with time zones, because the newsletter got massively delayed for a lot of people, everywhere and in each time zone.
You say that you sent the mail at 1:45 PM local time, which I guess is Utah, so the time was 13:45 Utah time = 19:45 GMT, which is 20:45 UK Summer Time (already) and 21:45 in Central Europe. Even if you ignore Europe, that was (already) more than half of the coupon's life span lost for your US customers as well.
However, my "copy" of the eMail was sent "16:52:15 -0400", which is 20:52 GMT and 21:52 UK Summer Time.
This means two things - your mail server is actually located on the east coast (because it is GMT-4 like New York, and not GMT-6 like Utah or GMT-7 like San Francisco) and it took 1 hour and 7 minutes to actually sent my copy - and a lot longer for the other user in Sweden (see above).
So your newsletter provider takes several hours until he eventually sends single mails. And this added to the almost 14 hours that you already lost and wasted when you sent the mail in the afternoon! And this not just delays Europe, it delays everyone who just has the bad luck to be at the end of the list.
The only solution: If you start a campaign like this, just mail it one day in advance. Or at least at a time that respects a) your own late sending plus b) several hours to process the mails by your newsletter server. And - please - don't blame us for receiving it late, when you actually delayed it yourself.
This way you get happy customers and no more need to apologize for stuff like this afterwards...

Same here. And I would like to add: Daz3D is not exactly my first thought when I get up in the morning.(nor my last thought before I go to bed) So when I opened my email, it was already too late and I'm sorry (maybe...) but I didn't think of visiting the forum first to look and see if someone had posted something about something.
No big deal though, just bought nothing at all. *shrug*
Love, Jeanne
The only reason I bought items yesterday, was because I saw this thread.
I've only recently had the 'interweb' connected at home, before that I'd trundle off to the library, not every day though.
The library also shuts at 6.00 PM.
I think you should give at least 24hrs notice before the voucher starts, or maybe it's part of your new strategy to lose out on some business.
Small though it may be.
PS.
Could you please make the freebies - free. Ref previous posting in this thread.
The Send from DAZ3D was 1:45pm DAZ3D time. I'm one time zone over. Here is my e-mail provider delivery time. As you can see it was near instant for me. It is not the fault of DAZ3D if other providers only Gather Mail at certain times of the day and them mass mail them at another time of the day. I do agree that this should have been sent out the day before so all users could have had more time to use the coupon.
I got mine on time, and I use Gmail. I'm an hour behind Daztime and it says I received it at 12:47pm
I am in central Europe and I got my e-mail at 21:47, which according to Martin_C´s calculation should be almost instant. :)
FYI - Today's 10-HOT coupon is looking for the $45 minimum in the Subtotal line, which is before any discounts applied on the Discount line
