    "Growing Up Gia"

We are different people at different ages in the way we picture/present ourselves.
I added 5 "out of the box" Gias and added a preset to each one. Then I tried to imagine what the character would be like at each age, adding appropriate hair, clothing and makeup to each, but making no other changes.

Thank you, Zev0 for this wonderful set.

One thing I'm thinking about is there really isn't a lot of kids clothing.. There is old k4 stuff, but what are you giving your child characters to wear? I realize there is stuff for teens and older characters, but, most of the clothing designed for generation 6 is not really suitable for younger characters.

So far I've bought the minimum G2 clothing necessary to test my utility projects. All of my G2's are wearing Genesis clothes, and I've got a good library of ordinary clothing for G1 that will work fine for anyone older than toddlers.

I'm hoping my Download starts before Monday, it seems the servers are hinky and I'm not getting my DL's right now.

I'm also going to BEG that the next Aging sets by any PA include more than just Face, Neck, hands and feet. I need to show much more of my figures in some projects. Just asking please? I'll pay a bit more if they do more.

Conversions are the only real problem though. If your K4 outfit includes pants and shirts, then it's pretty easy to convert over to Genesis 2 by using classic Genesis as a proxy, but the big problem areas are shoes and skirts. Shoes look absolutely TERRIBLE when converted since they usually don't convert well to Genesis to begin with, and Genesis to Genesis 2 conversions for shoes are almost as bad.

Still, all said we now have the tools to create children using Genesis 2, which is a feature I've been after since getting my hands on the figure. The Basic Child morph was conspicuous by its absence possibly because of a future full Kids 6 release (I'm still crossing my fingers for that). Either way was one of the features I missed most in the new figure, and the source of my bugbears which is why I've been eagerly awaiting these morphs.

My only mild worry is that the powers that be will assume there's no demand for a K6 because of Zev0's youth morphs (hint: there is!), but I'd rather see these as an extra tool in the morphing arsenal to accompany any future K6 figure or products released in the not too distant future. Here's hoping anyway, the kids need more love.

I am working on a few full body options as well.:) For the new version.

You're welcome and nice render:). Just a tip, for better results, the younger you make the figure, blend in characters at percentages. Having them at full at 5 years, especially body shapes can look strange as those shapes are for when they are adults. EG the face and body at a 5 year wouldn't have a 100% gia blend. You will still get a figure that still looks like Gia, but more convincing if blended nicely, not at full:)

That is skin overlay, a completely separate product:) I haven't shown any of the new aging morphs yet:)

Then you have me completely in anticipation! Will be interesting how you go about the now separate gender aging morphs, especially with the greater mesh detail!

    Instant purchase to be sure

I want to link these presets to a shaping dial but it's been awhile. I think I have to make a morph that doesn't do anything and then use ERC Freeze (like I had changed the rigging) to hook up the desired settings... (edit: yeah, figured it out)

I guess "Adult Proportions" morph is just a tweak? It seems counter-intuitive to me that increasing it makes the head bigger and legs shorter.

Nice job again from you Zev0, respect man! With this pack and other from your great morph/shape packs there's no excuse anymore not to use Gen2/V6 :-). Besides, I've bought almost all your items which are all more than worth the money. Do continue your great work.

Its an option for those who want average proportions.. EG v6 is like ideal model proportions. Where I come from, a lot of woman have larger heads with regard to the body length, and also much shorter legs. This is also true in other parts of the world. EG look at the average chinese woman, much shorter and stockier than european types, so I made an average proportion morph for those who want to use it. It's not a needed if it isn't part of the look you are going for, but just an additional option:) Also the adult proportions just adjusts the proportions, you can scale the figure down to your liking to best suite your needs.

...uhhh, like wow? . Only using the base Gen2F, Growing Up and Thorne's G2F Head morph Resource Kit.

11 year old Kelly (AKA Kyoto Kid) doing what she loved best.

(actually spent more time retexturing the building prop and finding a good light set)

Very nice job kk. Looks very natural. Love the pose as well.

    ...thank you all.

I do recommend the Morph Resource Kits because it lets you do finer adjustments to face and body shaping (I have several for the original Genesis).

Again, I have to admit, posing G2 is much smoother and accurate. Normally I use a preset pose to start from, but this was completed dialed up from the default "zero" pose. I do like how much more natural the "arms up" position looks. Also love being able to pose the individual toes. Will have to do a couple of her on the beam.

Once I can get (afford) the Body/Head Morphs bundle (please Daz, put them back on sale - I'm saving my PC coupie just for them) I'll have more controls to work with.

Oh, and the skin map is Thorne's Tommi thanks to the V4 - G2F clone (had to give everything a test).

...here's Leela's best friend Tracey. Kyle. Finally I can get the elf teen's incredibly lithe physique.

Not sure what is causing the broken shadow from the skirt on her thighs.

Might have to do with shadow bias settings. Do spot renders of that area with different settings. And nice character:)

    Very cute character, KK.
The only thing I can think of that might cause those shadows is that the skirt may be fitting tightly to the legs there?

Hard to tell from this angle, but it looks like the skirt is touching the thighs at those 2 points - so no shadow there.

Polly goes for a jog with her young friend. Wanted to see how the Streetwear Jeans looked in Luxrender, but I fumbled the settings a little (too many reflections) so it's lost a fair bit of detail, despite having been run for over 3.5k spp. Still, I've been very pleased with the Growing Up morphs and the unexpected bonus of the Sisters morphs with that fabulous skin material really made my day. It would have been a sin to pass them up.

...when I moved it slightly forward I got a small light artefact in the shadow. Just something odd with the lights I'm using (Lantios Lights2 this time rather than Cloud9). Had to crank the occlusion samples up to 192, LL2 had them set at a default of 128 yet her skin still looked somewhat grainy.

Even if the skirt is touching the shadow shouldn't have that odd "break" in it, but run smoothly up to the point of contact.

I'll try adjusting the bias like Zev0 mentioned and see what happens.

    -----

..update: That was it When I opened the scene again I discovered the shadow bias for the "sun" light was set at 1.00, I changed it to 0.1 (which is the usual default value) and the break disappeared. Her skin still looks a bit grainy though, especially in the transition zones from light to shadow. Using the skin map from Elspeth (Thorne) as it is the fairest skin I have that doesn't also have makeup (this is what I have been using for her). Druiscilla Goth is more fair, but even the base the facial map has eye shadow.

Still need to deal with the off-colour eyebrows.

I'm constantly amazed by how well the Sisters' subsurface shaders render. The settings are so near perfect I almost dare not fiddle around with them for fear of breaking it. I noticed a similar level of quality with the Victoria 6 default shader. which was what actually sold me on buying it in the first place (not easy to do for a guy who was on the fence about Genesis 2 to begin with).

So, here's a render where I left perfection well alone. I recently picked up the restless and insomnia packs which inspired this image of a young Penny wiping the sleep from her eyes in the early morning. Toon Baby plays the role of a dolly here, and I clothed her in a freebie dress from KCTC using the Sadie hairstylez twintails for hair.
