Cartoonized is awesome

  • I'm sitting here wondering what that other product Pedro hinted at is. Something Daz liked so much they bought it outright? Hmmm. Everytime the sale updates, I wonder, "Is today the day?"

  • Great renders everyone! @PedroFurtadoArts any way you could do Cartoonized for G3 F&M? I would buy that in a split second! (Although not sure if Daz still accepts G3 only products—but I would buy it wherever you sold it!)

And if not, is there some way to transfer that morph onto G3 and make a slider for G3? There is still so much DS techie stuff I don’t know how to do...

+1 to this! I bought this version, but would love a G3 version since I still use that generation heavily!

    scary

What fantasic images everyone is posting, and what a great product,  @PedroFurtadoArts! I particularly enjoyed these 3 by @Divamakeup, @Wonderland, and @deathbycanon:

Like others, I dig the realistic skins on the toons, and I've always thought that all types of caricatures can help to bridge the uncanny valley.

    Please keep 'em coming!

    - Greg

That's breathtaking! I love it! :D Do you have a tutorial on how you do post work!? I'd love to learn how you do that! :)

Thanks for the comments! This is such a fun product. Diva I don't want to post links here to my videos, as it's not my thread, but I have links on my art  studio thread, the link of which is in my signature. They are sort of long, as I just did a piece and recorded as I did it. This witch piece was actually really fast and fun and super simple to post work though.  If I can get some grand baby free time (so the house is quite)  I'll do a video on it.

    That would be wonderful! :D

And I'll check out the art thread. :D Do you have a post that does a general outline of your post work? If not that's ok, I'll go digging around in the thread and see if I can get some pointers. :)

Well, the mystery is solved on the mystery product.

Something else we never realized that we needed. Maybe not for straight pinups, but for character illustrations... Oh yeah.

I don't, I never thought of it. lol I guess I should do one of those!

It's different and not expected that's for sure. I never would have guessed that in a million years. lol

I am a bit dissapointed with Surgical Beauty, especially after watching the documentary about Hedy Lamarr

and her many surgical attempts to maintain her youth image. She was not only the famous actress

but such a great inventor, that provided the base technology used nowadays in WiFi and GPS.

I can understand decision of Daz, though. Halloween is coming.

  • I would buy a separate genesis 3 version of cartoonized, it is so much fun.  I'm also anxiously waiting for the male version.

I'll play around with surgical beauty today and see what it can do.

  • Looking forward to seeing what people have to show. It's a unique perspective on a morph collection, that's for sure.

Add me to the list for a G3 version of Cartoonize. I've got, and use Toon Generations 3, and ist age settings are really useful. But this retains more of the appeearance of the original character.

I vote G8M and then maybe other interesting morphs as priorities before G3.

I played with surgical beauty a bit.  I like that it can easily make targeted specific changes.  The bichectomy and vline surgery sliders can easily get you a more delicate, and even elvin look.  It is easy to make thin lips thicker or poutier.  For me, it was nice being able to make the lower lip thicker than the top, and keeping the lip shapely.  You do have to have a light hand with the sliders (probably like in real life, lol).  I think I'd love the same product in a male version (though I don't know if it would sell).  I find myself adjusting male noses to make them straighter/more delicate so this would help with that.  Most of my female characters already have delicate features so I'm not as likely to need the product for nose fixes and such.  Still, very fun to play with.  And cartooning over it is another option.  I had to bring cartoonizer in so that the discussion still pertains to the thread header, but is possible that further discussions could/should be elsewhere?

edit to add - would be nice to be able to go the opposit way, i.e., make noses bigger and lips thinner.  However I realize that might not go with the theme of plastic surgery.  The chin size does go up or down, so that's very nice.  Same with the forehead augmentation slider.

Oh my god !! I so pleased you liked it, I was very worried because plastic surgery is something that some people don't like or don't want to talk about it.
And Yes I really love what I do and sculpting / Shaping is very therapeutic to me. I always try to make them not basic ...

I live in LA where I see a ton of plastic surgery and the morphs seem pretty spot on. For me, this product is great for quickly “pretyfying” a character if I don’t feel like going through all my many morphs. The trick is not to overdo it unless you want a character that looks like she has a lot of plastic surgery. It came out to 79 cents with my Daz coupon! laugh

Here is EA Pearl with Surgical Beauty with some of my own tweaks to the nose and eyes and the Cartoonized version. More fun with the gene pool!

I saw the Surgical Beauty product but didn't buy it because I have limited budget. The lady in the ad copy does remind me of Joycelynn Wildenstein. I have had plastic surgery as a matter of fact. It was reconstructive surgery that even required three pieces titanium to bolt some shattered bone back to my skull again.

Thanks, Wonderland, for showing up possibilities of Surgical Beauty.

I've also bought it, mainly, just for supporting Pedro products.

I really hope to see his next creations in pair of Cartoonized for Genesis 8 Female.

Finally got a chance to make use of this. My computer has been tied up in a problematic render for the last week.

I was statled and delighted to find that Mada's Florabel outfit for Genesis 1 autofitted perfectly to a cartoonized Karissa 8. The boots have some problem with the pose, but that can be fixed in post.

JOdel which wings are you using?

  • Very cute tooned character jodel.

  • JOdelJOdel Posts: 6,288

The wings are Smay's Forest Fairy wings for Mavka (the original Mavka) with his Motley Wings texture expansion. Both from Rendo. Both sets are still available, but the texture expansion is in the Clearance collection, so it may disappear without much warning.

The thing that I particulaly like is that the connecting "bones" fade to a skintone where they meet the figure's back.

I work in 3DL so the glow is in post rather than emmissives. Emissives might look even better.

I think it came out very nicely. I went very Disney with it, just because I could.

Yes, the fairy is very nice.
