Definitely, a thread killer. I think I've killed like the last three or four threads I looked at too closely, much less commented on.
I'd like to think I've killed a couple of threads not even reading them..
I killed one recently. I've contributed to the premature demise of many others, not to mention the demise of my own posts. For a while, I think I had a mod following me around deleting my posts regardless of what they said. And yet, here I still am.
I remember when you could kill a thread - disintegrate the thread - just by mentioning Blender and saying something nice about it. Now Blender has its own subforum.
Honest opinions tend to be effective..
Wow, I just noticed that a thread got killed for TOS reasons, and I wasn't even involved. Perhaps my medi(tation/cation) is helping?
Kill-roy was here.
Oops, I did it again.
What is today?
I can kill any thread where someone (usually a newbie with like three posts) is looking for a free prop of a particular thing that's hard to find... all I have to do is mention 3D Warehouse and how to convert the model from .skp to .obj and that thread drops dead instantly... mentioning SketchUp is like mentioning Sauron and Voldemort's love child at the stroke of midnight three times... added death points if I mention how to check and flip the normals.
I've taken to saying "it can be done, but it's not something you'd probably want to do"... just to keep the thread alive so I can see more people suggest $300 TurboSquid or CGtrader models of a similar thing...
The boundary between yesterday and tomorrow?
Today is my Daddy's birthday!
Well, tell him I said "Happy Birthday!"... but say it with a Scottish accent (which I seem to be stuck in at the moment) for authenticity... if he doesn't know who I am, don't explain, because he might think I'm imaginary and you don't want him to worry about you... also maybe just skip the accent and saying "McGyver said Happy Birthday" part, because he might think you are implying Richard Dean Anderson wished him a happy birthday and he'll get suspicious and think you are planning some big birthday party with celebrities and all that and then he'll get disappointed when he finds out I'm imaginary...
Yeah... I said it... I thought I was time I finally tell you that I'm a figment of everyone's collective imagination... (nightmares technically)
But anyway, I hope he has a great birthday and whatnot.
Happy your Dad's Birthday!!
Congratulations! McGyver won!
@McGyver let's go to the dubious pub to celebrate!
Dubious Pug... (Or as he was more commonly known at the time, "Sir Dubious Pug")?
He was more of a 19th century figure of notoriety... He's almost unknown today, and considering what we now know of his true character and behavior, hardly someone to celebrate... what with the illegal orphan pit-fighting club, panda smuggling, black market organ bank (selling stolen organs before there were even organ transplants!), phony snake oil cures (made from "fresh clubbed" baby seal oil no less), his real estate scams, his scandalous affairs, his tax evasion, his treasonous behavior, his attempts at world domination... and might I remind you he's the creator of hamster stuffed baked kitten in ketchup sauce.
He the kind of character that thankfully we've stopped celebrating...
Ok... on second thought that's a bit premature...
Mostly stopped...
Ok...
As a whole humanity has a lot of work to do on this subject, but I feel we are making some progress and eventually we'll have moved beyond the likes of Dubious Pug and his brethren.
Probably.
Its a bit dicey, but statistically, it's a possibility.
I guess.
But yeah... Dubious Pug was a real bastard.
get rid of the red??? why?
Exactly... Visine's slogan "gets the red out" probably sounded more appealing in the 50s-70s when everyone was preoccupied with Soviet spies being everywhere and having red eyes was a sure indication of espionage or subversive activity... but now we know it's just a sign of sore eyeballs or the early stages of monsterism... on top of that it could be offensive to laboratory animals like albino rabbits and giraffes... Nowadays red eyes are quite fashionable and "the redder the bedder" as they say in eyeball fashion world... Eyeball irritation creams and poking sticks are a twelve billion dollar industry*, so clearly it's got some economic importance in the very least.
*May not be an entirely accurate calculation or factual accurate assessment.
I don't eat eggs, but I don't mind a good cupcake that was baked with eggs. Is that odd?
No... actually... Maybe... it depends on the eggs... like alligator eggs or platypus eggs* might be.
*Yes they lay eggs, which I imagine are quite tasty.
I went to that concert.
I just found out that Daz sells mice. I can't afford a Daz mouse right now as I am not a Daz+ member.
You want mice...? I'll stuff a bunch in an envelope and mail them to you... for free even... squirrels too... they'd require bigger envelopes and the shipping is kinda expensive... but if you aren't concerned about their level of aliveness, I could flatten them out, dry them in the sun like tobacco leaves and then stack a couple per envelope.
Its your call.
I know this is basically talking to myself, but if she does want the squirrels, you should try running them through that pasta press thingie you bought for flattening epoxy clay... you barely use it anymore and it's a lot easier than just using a hammer... granted you could lay them in the driveway and run back and forth over them with the car a couple dozen times and they'll be pretty flat, but if she wants to display them or use them as wall decorations, they'll have tire marks on them... that's unsightly.
Whatever... it's up to you... oh, and by the way, you should remember to put your clothes in the dryer before they start to smell funny...
Wait... what are you saying?... I smell funny?
Well, yeah kinda... especially when it's humid outside or you are wet... you've got that musty cheddary walrus smell.
No, I'm too boring.
Thanks a lot... you are a real jerk sometimes... and you know what?... Dry your own stinking clothes.
I thought that was the point... ?
if you have a powerful graphics card you can do a local install of ChatGPT and talk to it all day
