    Thanks everyone :)

@beyonder2k9 - Ill look into putting a small tutorial together

@Summerhorse - I just ran the brow eraser on the G8male and amazingly it works perfect for him. The brows also conformed no problem  - so the answer is absolutely.

If this set should sell well enough for me, Ill put together a manly set of brows together in the near future.  I know the boys need attention too :)

Hmm, not really. I seem to remember seeing mine in the mirror a couple or so years ago... Although, it could be longer. cheeky

These look great! Any asymmetry for them?

I have not seen the product but if there is a left and right side for each, Im sure you could load up two different versions at the same time.

true enough, although I'd make morphs like I did with Super Natural Brows (I think they're called.).

Male for me too but what I'd really love is a tutorial on how to make them.  I've been developing my characte for G8M, Gino, and I've done four tries at brows.  I like the last one so that will come with the pack but I've seen some that are just really natural looking, as does yours.  I think a published artist out there that knows their way around ZBrush or LAMH really should consider doing a set of video tutorials with Digital Art Live.  While I never have the time to attend the actual online seminar I do buy what I need when it hits the DAZ Store.  This would be one I'd get in a heart beat.

Agreed; especially if it deals with the basics like loading. I have zbrush but am not finding it intuitive - so far I still prefer Blender.

Ram - I could definitely do a tutorial -   I think the hard part for me would be figuring out the recording end for a video.

Just touch base with Digital Art Live, they just released a great tutorial in the store for dynamics featuring one of our forum members that have been helping folks with dynamics since it was made public.  That way you don't have to worry about setting anything up.  Not sure how much the split for payment is but might be worth checking out!

Nice work! Grabbed them as soon as I got in from work! One thing I noticed is if you have LIE makeups, apply them AFTER you apply the brow remover script.

I'll be getting a LOT of use out of these!

    Looks Great FSMC!

Another little tip.  The temporary browless texture maps get saved to the beautiful brows textures folder - so you can easily find them and export them to other rendering engines if you need to.

Instant buy! Not surpisingly, a great partnet to Natural Eyes (https://www.daz3d.com/natural-eyes-for-genesis-8).

    Thanks @chevybabe25.

    @FSMCDesigns

    Good tip.

    Thanks Fastbike :)

  • I need help.  I've searched and searched for how to use fibermesh eyebrows as a vendor.  The closest I've come is that I need to "export your morphed brows as an obj and use the transfer utility to create wearable brows for your characters." This instruction came from RedzStudio's instructions on how to use their product. However, when I do this, the brow comes in as an object, not an attachment. When I look at other characters and even the brows in this package, they are attachments. How do I use an eyebrow and make it an attachment that can be then be used as part of a character package that I'd like to sell?  A brief tutorial on this would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know if you need to do that for this particular merchant resource. I believe that was the case for Super Natural Brows because the one set of eyebrows came with a lot of morphs, and people buying a character shouldn't also get access to all those morphs.

To save as an attachment, go to File > Save As > Support Asset > Figure/Prop Assets, and fill in the blanks and in Set Content Type, choose Attachment (and you can further specify Head > Forehead > Eyebrows).

If you're working with Super Natural Brows, what I'd do is load the eyebrows onto a plain G8F figure, morph it to your liking, hide everything else (including G8F eyebrows), export as OBJ. Then import the OBJ. Edit > Object > Transfer Utility, choose G8F as source and eyebrows as target. I'd apply the Iray shader and apply the texture you want (be sure to use textures that you have the appropriate rights to, or create your own with just the color settings), then save as with the directions above.

    Hey there :)

    1. Create your character and all dials

    2. Add your brow shape and choose a material ( the materials that came with these are also distributable) Fit to the generic G8 Figure ( not your morph )

    3. Rename your brow  - So that it isn't a generic brow name in your scene.  Run transfer utility.  Click on the show options to select the content type. Transfer from Genesis 8 Female to Your Brows.

    4. File: Save as: Support asset: Figure/ Prop Asset - and save to your anatomy folder / People: Genesis 8 Female: Anatomy: Your Character.

    5.  Remember to include all data files when you pack up your character:  Data: Your vendor name: Product name

Customers have to load in the brows.  They will not just load attached to the figure.

Loading in as a character preset requires an extensive knowledge of studio.  Im more than happy to help with that via IM with this but I will not be able to troubleshoot should you miss steps.

Bought it the second I saw it (okay, maybe ten seconds. Might have been a whole minute). "Merchant Resource" was a big selling point as well.

Please do a Menz version. I have a bunch of male characters that really need these. Please!?

  • I am so grateful... grateful... for the quick and helpful responses to my inquiry. Thanks so much, missuskisses and chevybabe25, for your awesome guidance. I will try out your suggestions.  You are both AWESOME for responding with such great advice and specific instruction. Thanks for taking the time to respond to my inquiry. I appreciate your help big time. :)

  • Hey there,

when I run the Brow Eraser script, I get a popup with the error "Could not find file: \Runtime\Textures\Chevybabe25\Beautiful Brows\dual_lobe_spec.png" and the face texture gets replaced with some not fitting default texture, showing that it worked on the right surface but clearly something went wrong. Does anyone have a clue how to deal with this?

In the log file I see that it fails to save several files:

    • "Failed to save image: \face_diffuse.dsi"
    • "Unable to open file"

Same errors for \translucency.dsi, \dual_lobe_spec.dsi, \base_bump.dsi, and ending with the debug message "DEBUG: Error locating material/property combination.".

I have Windows 10, so I thought it might not have the permissions to write files or it's getting blocked. DAZ Studio and the library were installed in the default locations. I've tried to reinstall the Beautiful Brow product, I've run DAZ Studio as administrator, I've reinstalled DAZ Studio, I've moved the library to a different drive, I've installed DAZ Studio in the user folder, I've disabled my internet security program, I've tried with different G8 figures/textures, all the same result.

I have no idea anymore and start to frustrate, because the eyebrows are just amazing, but without the eraser script I'm very limited in their use. Any suggestions are very welcome.

@BambooGarden.  Strange that I didnt get a notification of this post.

Edited because apparently I can not read.  Sigh.

I just ran the script through the lastest build of daz and also had no problems. But would still love to have a few people following this thread to double check and see. You are more than likely right in that it has probably something to do with how your computer's permissions work.  Im going to go check around just a little bit and see what other work arounds are possible for this if any.  I would also recommend uninstalling and reinstalling in the default location.

  • Thank you very much for your reply. It encouraged me to again look at the permissions. I could make it work now, although I have no idea what caused the error.

I've had a closer look at the folder permissions of my library and the folder of the product in specific. At first, I've found nothing suspicious, but I've changed the permissions (full control, write/modify for all uses) and owner of it anyway. When I changed the permissions of the whole library, I've got failed attempts on all files in the "Beautiful Brows" product folder. All other folders and files of the library properly worked. It was just the "Beautiful Brows". Very odd, since I've never messed around with these settings. I've fiddled around, checked if they were not read-only, but I couldn't find any clue why.

Since I couldn't change their permissions, I tried something else:

As most of my content, I've installed "Beautiful Brows" with the Smart Content install function in DAZ Studio. I've uninstalled it there and installed it with the DAZ Install Manager. Now it works like a charm. Very odd, but I'm happy.

Thanks again for your help. Now I can enjoy awesome brows on all characters. :D

HI, When I run the Brow Eraser script, I get a popup with the error "Could not find file: \Runtime\Textures\Chevybabe25\Beautiful Brows\dual_lobe_spec.png" and If I go along the face get a light skin color diffrent to the rest of the body. I am on mac beta 4.11. I have made a ticket to Daz Studio. Are you trying solve the problem?

  • chevybabe25chevybabe25 Posts: 1,271

@attfara_9c7bd629f0  Im pretty sure this sounds exactly like Bamboo garden's problem.  I would try uninstalling and reinstalling it and see if that makes a difference.

Hi, I try that. Daz 3d have found more problem both with deafult charcters and different others. Didn't they contact you?

Attfara. They have not contacted me.  This is a problem with the script being able to write to your folder.  Either you are not permitted to write to your folder or you have a corrupted download.   Im sooner guessing it is the download - Daz has been wonky lately. Try what Bamboo Garden suggested above.

Just so anyone else has a problem and doesn't understand what this script does:   It makes a file via the layered image editor and saves the temporary image in : ile: \Runtime\Textures\Chevybabe25\Beautiful Brows.

Once the script is complete it will then access that information from that folder.  If it can not write to your folder because of one of the things I mentioned above, then it will not be able to find the temporary images. Hence why you will get weird things like a light skin color.

I don't use Daz Connect, but I have read many posts, since it was implemented, about scripts not running as expected when installed with Daz Connect. As I understand it, scripts often times need things, (files?) to be in specific locations in the library structure, but Daz Connect stores everything in it's own library with a different structure. (That's vague, but I admit I don't really understand how Connect works.)

Anyway, whenever a script fails to work correctly when installed via Connect, the easy solution is to uninstall via Connect and reinstall, either with DIM or manually.

Wow. Thank you L'adair.  I had not heard of this but it now makes a whole lot more sense!
