Does Aiko 3 still need love? AKA Any interest?

I've been using Aiko 3 clothing and hair on the newer models. I have Aiko and Hiro 3 loaded on my computer, but have gotten so use to being able to use new and old items across G1, 2, 3, and 8 (some what), that I now find using Aiko and Hiro 3 too limiting.

I'd love Iray updates and the ability to at least uses Genesis 1 and 2 items on their figures.

I LOVED some of the characters created for Aiko 3 and still use them (in DAZ Studio 3Delight).  Whether or not I buy any new content for A3 depends entirely on what it looks like.

How much is a month of photoshop? I purchased CS4 some time ago so I never plan on putting more money into adobe. If cs4 all of a sudden stopped working id go to gimp or do without.

Um, Now I also need a hotspot on the go because apparently 500 MB is not a lot of data for hotspoting.  I tried to be careful but used it up in one day.

• Which is your favourite renderer for A3?  For Daz Studio; 3Dlight, iray or other?  For Poser, FireFly, SuperFly, or other? - Firefly
• Does there need to be a Hiro 3 companion for A3 products made? - No
• Is Aiko 3 too old? - Depends on what she is used for.  I still use here in some scenes.
• What I'd really love to have is a weight mapped version of her.  But I suck at painting the weight maps.

P.S.: I've seen some renders of "A3Realistic" - is it still available anywhere?

• realistic or toon? - both/either
• morphs - additional fantasy-/SF-morphs might be nice
• companion - not necessary, but might still be useful
• too old - nope (and there's the option of upconversion one way or another)

A3 Realistic is one of the base morphs for A3, from memory it was part of "A3 Complete" which has been renamed to "A3 Morphs and Maps": https://www.daz3d.com/aiko-3-0-morphs-and-maps ;

 

I still like A3, especially Xinxin and A3Realistic, though I use her much less these days.

• Is Aiko 3 too old? => To use in a scene? No. As the base figure for a commercial product? Well let's be honest, you probably won't get many sales from an A3 product, and you'd need to find a marketplace which would accept it first... But if you're not expecting a big seller then it can work, as she still has fans.

I recommend Kioki most of my renders have kioki morph

Agreed. I haven't loaded Aiko 3 in years.

Aiko 3 used to be my favorite figure, but, like others, I left her behind a long, long, long time ago. I prefer to use newer figures with newer tech, tho different strokes for different folks, so whatever works for you! :)

This is old, but I'll go ahead and say: I use Aiko3 a lot still today. Sakura8 did let me upgrade a few things to Genesis8 but until there's a set of morphs like the Kioki and HItoro morphs I'm still with A3, as their tooning look is my preferred one.

 

Just felt like A3 needed a vote of confidence.

I still use Aiko3 from time to time. Well, actually, I use a Frankenstein's Monster of Aiko3 from the neck down, and LauraYT from the neck up (just look for high-neck outfits or chokers to hide the join). I exclusively user Poser's Firefly renderer for Aiko 3 as I don't have any DS assets for her. As for your other questions, I really have no good answers. I don't think there's enough demand out there for making new commercial offerings for Aiko. As for Hiro, never used him.

Suppose I might as well chime in to.

Yes, I still use and adore Aiko 3/Hiro 3 and Melody/Micah, and I plan on supporting them as much as I can! I use D|S and 3DL.

 

So DAZ if you want more money out of me then come up with converters for Aiko 3 and Hiro 3 (genesis 1238 >to> A3/H3)!
