Question: will the prizes go down again for a little time in the powerup section as they did last time at the end of the week?

Okay, just realized, if I have the PRO bundle of V5 or M5, why doesn't the store show that I have already gotten V5 starter/M5 starter? Thought the store is supposed to show all bundle elements as bought?
    ...

It works for the single items - but not for "bundles inside bundles", unfortunately ...

"Fantasy Fighter" was supposed to be one of the items available for free at the end of week 1.
    Where is that item located?

    Thanks

I'm assuming it will give a link to the product page. I'm not sure. I didn't make Tier 2 last week so I only show Tier1 prizes.

Fantasy Fighter is also a week 2 item, not week 1. Week 1 was all coupons.

I thought that to but I've been wrong before. I didn't get tier 2 so didn't know what was offered

You can read what each week offers without hitting the tiers. For example, I can see that week 2 tier 2 comes with pro bundles, but I haven't unlocked tier 2 yet.

You just can't see future weeks until that week starts.

It was all just coupons and discounts at different levels. Tier 2 was 44% discount on products, while Tire 1 I think was 20 or 30%, The coupons were again one was higher one was lower, Tier 2 was 6 dollars, I think Tier one was 2 dollars. Don't recall what the Daz coupon was for Tier one. But there were no actual downloads, just different levels of discounts and coupons.

    Hello.

Sorry to rain on the party here, but I am finding it difficult to get with this power up game; it has been a bit confusing to me and has been difficult to make my progress bar budge. Seems like I am missing out on a lot of power up points because I like to put things in my wishlist or shopping cart and not make a snap decision on them. But by the time I am ready to check out and pay, those items are either no longer worth a power up point or no longer at the extra 20% or whatever, so my money ends up buying less. Or whatever; some days I'm so confused I'm not sure which way is up.

Like many, I am watching the budget so this is becoming frustrating and not so much fun for me.

Also, I am not all that interested in the horror genre. Now I do realize that this is the month of Halloween, and I get that, and I do expect to see a lot of morgue, sanitarium, apocalyptic, or just plain run-down textures and scenes and more than usual number of monsters and gothic people and clothing. I guess right now these things don't appeal to me and I'm not so much interested in zombies or horror poses even if they are only $1.99 or some very low price.

I am more interested in tools that can help me learn how to make new characters, props, poses, and clothing of my own design rather than just buying other people's creations all the time. I mean...I'll do both, yes; and dissection helps me learn. But I want to create too, and at a deeper level than I am currently capable of doing.

I too am new to the PC sale but I have found it a bit less confusing. The power bar will measure Six and Six.

The first six is Tier one, while the second six is Tier two. I too thought my bar was stuck and not moving at first.

Your first six items will register as 1-6 of 6. Once you meet the Tier one, then the bar will do another 1-6 of 6
for Tier 2. Watch the stars on the top as each will light as you accomplish 6 products in each tier.

Not recommended to put them in the wishlist, as they do not collect points there at all. You can put them in the cart but leaving them there if your shopping late at night will increase the chance of the day rolling over (remember they are on Utah time) and losing the extra 20%.

Even if they are purchased after the day has rolled over, you will pay more for them, but they still will count
as points for the week they are in. You can find all the products for the week under the status bar. They can be purchased anytime during the week for points.

I too want to learn and would love some items that teach rather then just to use but there has also been some great buys there. just to name a few: How to Remove Poke Through (Tutorial), Dolled Up (shader), HDR ProSets Yosemite Pack Two (background scenery), The entire Anniversary bundle, Crazy Deals 1 & 2 were also all settings for background rendering. These are all things we as beginners are never going to be able to make just starting. So I see them as a great value to me. Had absolutely no background content until this sale, and between the point items and those on sale through Jack Tomalin I have gotten quite a bit at really low prices.

You might see it different. But there has been a large variety of choices. Learning is a pain in the arse for some of us, and usually folks here are great about answering a question or two, but they also don't want to become our 24/7 tutors (unless of course we are willing to slap out the big bucks ... LOL) And who can blame them, they had to muddle through when they began.

But most of the forums have links to tutorials and videos, as it was pointed out to me by many here. Though we want to create and learn, it is not often that tutorials are given out free or reduced.

If the mega prize and content is not something that trips your trigger you may want to shop the tutorial section of products and just drop your cash there. Some of them are quite extensive and teach you a lot.

    I recently picked up Tutorials:
Morphing Genesis 2 Female with DAZ Studio by Winterbrose
Genesis Starter Kit and Classic Bikini (Hexagon and DAZ Studio 4 Pro Video by Fugazi1968
You can shop these by going to Tutorials or even by vendor name.

Hope some of this helps you .... and good luck with the shopping, hope you find things you can feel good about buying!!

EDIT Well I happily stand corrected, Thanks Jack for letting us know about the tutorials will keep my eyes peeled for those!!

Oh wait, are you the Jack Tomalin who's stuff I just keep buying and buying?!?! If so ..... WOW ... thanks for the sales! You got some great stuff in your shop!

I have to wonder why this is called the Platinum Club Sale anymore and not the Genesis/Genesis 2 Sale? All I’m seeing (with a very few exceptions) for figures, cloths and poses are things for Genesis only.

Look at todays (week 3 day 1) items, its all for Genesis with this Josie figure. I feel like I’m shopping at renderosity with the heavy influx of Dawn only stuff. A little variety would be nice guys or at least have poses that are for both Gen 4 and Gen 5.

    From here: http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/29865/
Look through the thread and see for yourself what came up as PC releases - most of it until now was Props/Buildings and ok, two times shaders for DS (which I guess wouldn't be your cup of tea either, if you don't like Genesis you are probably a Poser only user).
There were only a few Genesis/Gen2Fem items.

Is it right todays Freebie doesn't count as a point? In which case I wont get any points today as I'm not interested in Female figures - I only just scraped Tier 2 last week, doesn't look good for this week (my eye is on David 5 Pro) or getting the megaprize at the end. :-( And we still don't know what the Fantasy Fighting is, that is my only hope, as I have the Michael 5 Pro Bundle already. I don't want to throw away money of stuff I know I will never use just to get a point.

No, todays Freebie doesn't count because it is the weekly store freebie and not one of the special PC freebies ...

I guess to be fair, they want to make it for stuff that everyone has. Everyone has a Genesis figure. That means that a lot of the stuff you get will work on both your male and female figures. Props and environments are great, because everyone can use those too. If you didn't have V4 and the sale was 90% V4 stuff, you'd lose out.

That being said, I'm a little disappointed that this week is all about Josie. I don't plan on buying into that character, so I'm loosing out on points big time this week. Thankfully I unlocked both tier 2s for weeks 1 and 2. Hopefully the rest of the week and the next brings more stuff that everyone can use. You need to unlock at least 3 weeks to score the Mic....I mean Mega prize at the end.

I'm in the same boat - no Genesis 2 for me.

I really like the Emotions for Josie outfit. If it were for Genesis 1 or Victoria 4 (or even Laura 3!), I would have happily bought it. Oh well. Likewise for all the other Josie products.

Would Ravenhair consider making a Genesis 1 version?

Quite possibly, but like the other refits, theres a few factors so we'll have to see how the feedback/numbers pan out over the next week or so :)

A personal review. Week 2 was a rather good sale. I bought enough to make Tier 2 (luckily; I was foggy on what was the last day). But Week 3 begins with a downer. I've been dragging my feet on Gen 2 stuff (I love the universality of Gen 1; nothing would make me happier than to see serious continuing support for Gen 1). I bought the Gen 2 support model for Genesis 1 a while back, but only so I can get the occasionally nice item of Gen 2 clothing. Josie? Not useful for what a lot of people want to do. I've already bought low-priced sale things that I wasn't excited about for $1.59 just to stay in the game, but money spent for Emotions for Teen Josie would be money lost. The character-themed starter and pro bundles in Week 3 are full of repeats from Week 2, and, anyway, I've had them (or most of what I wanted from them) for months. Why weren't subject- themed bundles offered this time instead? We are offered David's bundles in Week 3, but I don't have them already because most support items in them lack broad usefulness, making David look like a fashion model or urban show-off. The $6 would be nice, but buying one $6+ item that one doesn't want just to make Tier 2 would more than negate it. The 44% discount on so many of Daz's fine artists is also a good thing, but a lot of people must have bought all they could afford of these same items in September's super sale. Whose discretionary budget has so soon recovered from such a long buying frenzy?

What is the Mosquito in Tier 1? There is an existing mode of that name for $1.99, and it really is an insect. That can't be what's being offered this time as an incentive. And the Portello of Week 3? It doesn't show up as an existing model, so how can it motivate a person to spend money? (I still don't know what the Fantasy Fighter of last week was, but if it disappoints, I can at least use Aiko 5 Pro.) Since we don't know what the awesome secret prize will be at the end of the whole sale, it doesn't really work as an incentive. To inspire people to try for it, we should know what we are striving to get. Let us all breathe easy that at least it won't be Josie.

And what is with the Fast Grabs lately? There hasn't been much change in them for more than a week. I got used to the idea of them changing every day, and learned to buy accordingly.

On the upbeat side, the 1950's sale offers many things that I have wanted, especially Moonshine's, and I sent in an order for 20+ items. It's a pity though that Moonshine's is not a modern diner. I want to learn DS to illustrate stories and it would be pleasant to use Moonshine's without a character having to say, "Wow, I love the retro look of this place." In how many stories can one do that? As an aside, who decided that the 1950's would be so well covered? A rather peaceful era, it's really somewhat forgettable. Many Daz3D customers are action-oriented and one would have thought that the war and gangster era of the 30's and 40's would have been more popular. Hopefully tomorrow's selection will be so good that this customer can painlessly make up for not buying a Power Point item today.

I have no knowledge of what is being referred to, but isn't Mosquito also the name of a plane of some kind?
And the Fantasy Fighter ... again ??? ... but wasn't there something in the store briefly by that name that was awesomely useless for a female to fight anybody in?
I'm going for one of the Pro sets myself.

I agree with much of what you said:

Week 1 was great, Week 2 good, Week 3 is starting off not so good.

Josie, no money for her now regardless of what generation. Makes today's PC item useless for me.

100% agree with you on David. Can't get into that stuff that is in the David bundles. Was really disappointed in the direction DAZ went with David 5.

44% discount does me no good as I am out of money and last months deals were better (which is why I'm out of money!)

Fast Grabs - Is DAZ abandoning them. Lately it seems like it is the poor stepchild that you give the leftovers to, after the rest of the family has enjoyed their meal.

I like the fifties. I was born then. It was the last family friendly decade. Gangsters (and pirates) are not cool! I am sick and tired of them being romanticized. They are evil, evil people. I hope I am dead before terrorists get the same treatment. End of rant. Sorry.

I do believe tomorrow will be a better day (PC wise.)

I did pick up teen josie and millie, I did get Girl 6 / V6 when it came out too, but passed on Gia ( too hard looking). I think if I don't like the 2 new free items bonus for week 2 I will return the Freak bundle I purchased at the beginning of october and get it as my freebie for week two.

But I noticed after my purchases today the power point meter isn't working, Josie and millie do get bonus points correct?

Yeah, DAZ's been notified through both official and (evidently) back channels. I think they probably have a tool which goes through and syncs everybody up semi-regularly, and it probably just plain broke as folks bought Josie in swarms.

In any case, I'm thrilled to get TJ, and it'll be a lot of fun to build scenes with her and genepool variations.

To the folks who had issues with David 5, he was so incredibly much more a 'real' person to me than M5 was it's hard to overstate. I know zero people personally who have a body shape that M5 transforms to easily (those thighs, my GOD!) but D5? Yeah, I can work with that and make real people out of it.

The D5 Pro Pack was decent, but I think they've gotten better at Pro Bundle's since then. Still, the starter also came with Neo, which was an excellent character.
