About Marvelous Designer: When they went subscription, they said, that any user owning a perpetual version at that time, is eligable to update that version up to MD v12 perpetual (current version is 11, so the next one will be the last perpetual one for those customers). You need to write an email to their support to get the pricing, as far as I know.

I was after posting inspired to do a video using frozen Optitex morphs converted to an AniBlock so it can be copied pasted and reversed so looped, did the same with the figure animation obviously

this is the thing you sadly cannot do with Dforce since it has no visible keyframes

so while it doesn't suck, it also doesn't exactly shine, Optitex has never exploded on me either

Actually, I can see the upgrade price (Perpetual) on the web site. No need to write to anyone.

Nope, that is to "sell" your perpetual license back to them and get a two year subscription back in exchange.

Nope - follow the screens and you get a price for a perpetual update.

I appologize, you are right. I just checked the help text but did not enter the process.

Thanks for letting me know. I just read in the later help text that the 60% discount is valid for updating from the third last version. I am on V9 so I should get V12 for 60% - great.

I think you are on V8, right? It seems you can only update to V11 but not to V12 anymore when it comes out (just in case you like to update to the last perpetual version at all).
