what was your first reaction seeing Fantasy Fighter ?

My first reaction was "Ugh, entirely what I expected, another skimpwear for G2F" - confirmed disappointment. I run a bit of tally for myself and currently skimpwear is about 83% of everything that is released to G2F, plus minus 5%. This isn't even good skimpwear, Renderosity has better fantasy skimpwear, for gods sake. And it has nothing to do with Fantasy genre (zippers? in fantasy?). So yeah, no surprises here.

My second reaction was, literally to word, a thought: "Good that I'm ignoring G2F and have Stephanie 5 pro bundle to pick up instead of _this_." Deep satisfaction.

My third was, at closer inspection of the outfit: "Obvious boobsacks, body-suit like rigging, only two pieces outfit, no shoes, almost no morphs and this is by 4blueyes? Nice gloves, but - they price it $20 in defaults? Really? For this? $20?"
If it were a video game, it would be one of these titles that get C or C-, and for me this outfit gives a strong impression of being made in hurry, to put _something_ up.
So disappointment again, this time with particular vendor. DAZ3D marketing I gave up on long time ago already, but looking on this and his other recent releases I highly doubt I'll ever buy from him again.

So summarily, it is disappointment, because the deep satisfaction feeling was here just because I don't have to deal with Fantasy Fighter product at all.

And I'm not even in shoes of those who bought all bundles and have to deal with this or minidress as their only rewards.

when i saw the title, I thought it was skimpy armor for Victoria 4 or Genesis. lol

No offense to 4blueyes, but the outfit is kinda pricy for $13.96 considering how little skin it covers. Now, if the outfit came with shoes, I might buy it.

My reaction was, for this price I can buy a real life dress with actually more fabric.

Anyway i think are not bad items, the minidress is very cute, but they are very overpriced for what u get.

By the way, the next price is alredy in shop:

Well, to be fair, the mini dress is for Genesis, not G2F.

And as I showed earlier in the thread, the 'Fantasy Fighter' outfit works just fine on guys, after a conversion. ;)

I continue to hold out hope that zippers on outfits will imply action morphs that allow unzipping and zipping.

However, as soon as I saw it I understood that the title 'Fantasy Fighter' is not meant in the sword-and-sorcery style of 'fantasy', which is why the outfit looks like it's made of spandex or pleather, and has a zipper. I think folks got in mind 'Fighter' == 'Warrior', and 'Fantasy == Sword and Sorcery', and so it made no sense.

The gloves make it clear it's 'Mixed Martial Arts' (although with that outfit, maybe 'Mixed Marital Arts' is more appropriate?) style fighting, and the 'Fantasy' part is probably just intended as 'this wouldn't work in reality'.

Still, words mean things, and it didn't work out as well. Thankfully I got it AND the dress for free, and good laughs were had with it on M5. ;)

Nah, Stephanie 5 Pro bundle for me any day. I have enough minidresses since that March Madness several years ago where there were only V4 dresses all time. And minidresses are easy to rerig. And I since realized I don't render anything in minidresses anyway; best try is a mix and match with pants and jackets and such but in this scenario one minidress is as good as any other.

And as I showed earlier in the thread, the 'Fantasy Fighter' outfit works just fine on guys, after a conversion. ;)

Heh, yeah, it was a funny picture. Strangely, the outfit looks more believable on guy than on G2F, probably because of the absence of boobsacks.

However, as soon as I saw it I understood that the title 'Fantasy Fighter' is not meant in the sword-and-sorcery style of 'fantasy', which is why the outfit looks like it's made of spandex or pleather, and has a zipper. I don't own it but I consider Blade Maiden to be one of the best if not the the best fantasy warrior/skimpwear outfit of that kind, despite her having life-threatening breastplate and high heels. Maybe because it looks like the warrioress has _some_ chances of survival in this one. And because I like loincloth on it.

The gloves make it clear it's 'Mixed Martial Arts' (although with that outfit, maybe 'Mixed Marital Arts' is more appropriate?) style fighting, and the 'Fantasy' part is probably just intended as 'this wouldn't work in reality'.
I can attest that cloth on boobs doesn't work this way in reality, even with brave help of two tiny wire ribs.

uncontrollable giggle The word 'brave' totally wins that line!

Anyway, the Steph 5 bundle is an EXCELLENT choice; one of my favorite Gen 5 bundles, with YT5 up there with it. Sadly I had all of the bundles, so I got the...wait for it...booby prize. ;)

    Booby prize! :D
    Thanks, I really needed a laugh :)

Oh, I completely agree on S5Pro Bundle. I had most of the Starter, but not Pro. Lily Nymph dress alone was a winner (it is my guilty pleasure outfit which I'd like to have but probably won't render ever), but also nice character textures as a bonus and some hair.

Feel like I was slapped for having already purchased the gen5 bundles. Incidentally, the link for V5 Starter on the product list for the powerup bonus actually points to the V6 Starter. Can I have that one instead?

Likewise, I opted for the Steph 5 Pro bundle, well worth it even though I had the Starter bundle.

Well I wasn't really surprised, just really disappointed. Now I have to decide on either V5 Pro or S5 Pro on the bases of which hair I think I could use on male characters. I am aiming for D5 Pro this week which so far has meant buying female clothes I am never going to use, but like others I am really worried about this Megaprize at the end now - maybe that is another booby prize. :-(

I don't know why I had it my head that Fantasy Fighter might be some sort of one man space craft such as Luke might use to attack the Death Star.

Completely unsurprised. It wasn't going to be a full outfit with shoes, vehicle, etc. when it's a freebie-type reward, and female skimpwear pleases the largest proportion of the customer base (and there's nothing wrong with that). I'm actually mildly amused to see an outfit that looks kind of like a female version of the popular "mankini" type wrestling jersey used in muscle-man pinups. I might buy it separately to put them together in a scene.

There's this cool product in the store, Genesis 2 Female Clone for Genesis which converts it pretty much flawlessly (check the first thread page, if you haven't already) for guys. ;)

I though, "What? Totally not on-par with a Starter/Pro bundle!"

I thought whatever it was going to be that it would be at least a $50 item. I thought it was going to be a bundle with several "fighter" outfits and maybe a prop or two. Something like what they did with the Marrakesh Crazy Deals.

So glad I needed the S5 Pro Bundle.

I really would like to hear what the PC team were thinking when they did this.
I'm returning what I bought last week I've gone through it and realised there's only 1 thing I want to keep. I have no faith now that the mega prise will be of any use so I will probably returns this weeks stuff as well.

Not to jump on the bandwagon, but now I harbor a deep-seated fear that the MEGA prize at the end of the month will be a significant let down. I'm hoping that is not the case, and for Week 3, I am certainly pleased I have not yet purchased David 5 (but I have the rest of the Gen 5 Pro Bundles.) Thankfully, the vast majority of stuff I have purchased over the course of this sale is stuff that I can/will use, but Fantasy Fighter really let me down. I was hoping for some fantasy genre fighter (re: barbarian or leather armor) outfit with maybe some props or something. Instead, I got a fantasy female wrestler outfit. It's not a bad outfit, per se, but I would certainly say it is not on par with Gen 5 pro bundles.

And I was really excited for it, and looking forward to seeing what the outfit is. Oh well, free is free. Of course, sometimes that isn't enough. Imagine if Subway sandwiches said "Buy 12 sandwiches at a reduced price in a week, and we give you a free sandwich (but no repeats)" Then your choices are "Ham with Fixin's" (Already bought it, no repeats), "Italian with everything," (bought it, no repeats), "Turkey megasandwich," (also bought, no repeats), and a "Poop Sandwich, with real poop!" Suddenly, free doesn't make much of a difference anymore.

I am starting to think of choosing Fantasy Fighter and using it over other items to create a look that is starting to come to mind. But first I will have to see if I can afford the G2F Clone for G.

Has anyone tried FF over other clothing yet?

Here we have G2F with her gym buddy and fellow shiny spandex enthusiast G1. His outfit is by Dzheng with the Fighter mats copied onto it (gloves are my own fingerless glove freebie with the Fighter's shader and its own maps). Alpha scalp by SAV. Skins by Phoenix1966 (Caleb) and FW (Cassie) with my own glossy HSS preset. Dialed characters are my own, from existing morphs. One specular distant, one UE, and one AA light.

I like the gloves, kind of disappointed it doesn't have more accessories. It could have been a pretty good set if it came with shoes, elbow pads, knee pads, maybe even a championship belt. Not sure it's worth the price for just two items that, lets face it, is not really that interesting.
