I really like the pictures you have posted here, I'll look out for this in the store.

But I have a related question. You use the word "ecosystem" in this thread. There is a certain other application (which I probably should not name here), that uses this word to describe a plugin that can distribute objects over a terrain partly randomly but also according to rules based on terrain height, slope, avoiding other objects and other stuff. Do you have a plugin for Daz Studio and/or Poser and/or Carrara that can do this?

If you are referencing Infinito (http://www.daz3d.com/infinito-1-0) then, yes, that is also Alessandro's work.

We are working on a new version of Infinito and things are looking good. No release date yet for the new version, though. LAMH and Infinito will work together to give a whole new level of creation abilities.

    Kendall

I wasn't thinking of Infinito. The one I was thinking about is not for Daz Studio and allows you to use rules, e.g. distribute objects randomly on a terrain but only put them where the slope is less than a certain value or the height is within a certain range etc.

Infinto does not seem to have all these features but it does look very interesting.

I see. Well those are features that are not indeed in Infinito 1.0.

What can I do with the terrains I create with Infinito? Can I redistribute them or is that not allowed? Can I sell the presets for LAMH or am I only allowed to give them away as freebie?

Good! About infinito activation, how does that work? Do you check with Daz to make sure I purchased it? My concern is that with the PC anniversary sale going on, I bet that Daz support team is swamped and mile deep in support tickets. I am afraid that will delay them verifying that I ordered it. Or how does it work?

Infinito activation requires you to run it and email me the Serial Number displayed in the activation window, and the DAZ Order #. I'll email back the activation key.

So if I can get the LAMH to register I can get the Infinito to register? Okay Sounds good.

edit: Do I need a skull cap to make hair for a human figure like Genesis or G2F?

How long should I wait for the activation key?

That was easy. I think I worry too much and think things are harder than they are.

    I like it.

How does the water/scene look for closeups? In general, I tend to like to render closeup shots of characters and I don't do a lot of distance work.

Hello, here is a close up render of a crocodile swimming inside the Lost World. 3 water shaders provided: reflective water, dark murky water and complex water (reflaction+refraction). This render shows the last shader in action.

Wow. This set looks fantastic and the water shaders are awesome. I picked up your crocs and the rhino in the PA sale and this looks like a great place to keep them.

Are the stone pieces solid or are they hollow on one side? I usually get sets like this and find I can't use them the way I want because they are hollow on one side. I have two of your sets and they are solid all the way around so I am hoping these are too. If so I will be getting them first day out.

Hi, forgive my english but what do you mean by 'hollow on one side' ? All the geometry you see there (cliff, uplands, little hills and the giant peak) are consistent and detailed on all 360 degrees. I'll post some ZBrush shots to show an external view of all the set, that maybe help to understand better how's done.

Everything in this set is fully formed. Even the insides of the rocks are usable. A few of these guys make good caverns for subterranian scenes.

Actually I forgot to put a promo render that shows the Lost World from one corner. There are also mentioned the dimensions of the environment.

Excellent! This is a must have!

Another question I have is, How could I add more greenery to the stone formations to get something like this

I think you may create an array of instances and deploy those manually, but that would take quite some time.
Since instancing is very effective in Studio, I'll probably try to make an advanced set with lot more of vegetation, especially on the uplands.
The picture you posted is a very good reference.

Another quick render with upcoming Lost World environment set.
In this one, I separated the cliffs just a little so that the Black Buccaneer could enter. Since each land piece and related ecosystem are individual entities, one may create a bay, a ring, or any desired layout.
This image also showcases how large the whole set is.

EDIT: I forgot to add that the cliffs look a bit too oblique because I used a camera with a very low focal length, so that I could enclose as more world as i could.

Looks good. This is definitely going in my wishlist for later if I can't buy it right away.

Oh, and some of my characters want to go there for a holiday after the "fun" adventures I put them through... ;-)

    Lovely work!
