Oops.  Forgot to answer the last half of your question.  You can absolutely layer these if you want.  If you  are using these for a character set  - "by layering them " just export them together - and when you reimport, they will come in combined as one mesh. It will not add a second surface for a material node though.  Just one.

@RAMWolff, if you use the Geometry Editor to rename the material surface of one of the layers before you export them together, you should get two material zones of the new object, when you import it back into Daz. You may want to rename the material zones after you import, as the process sometimes adds stuff like "Product_" to the existing zone.

@chevybabe25, I assume the above solution is fine for personal use, but is it also acceptable for someone using these as a merchant resource?

What a geat tip!  Thanks L'Adair!

Yes!   You can layer them like that with your commercial character sets as well.  I think it adds more possibilities to create something truly unique :)

First thing in the cart last night. I am so looking forward to adding age-appropriate bushy brows on the old men in my runtime.

Just got these this weekend, and I'm so pleased. I have needed a multi-brow fibremesh solution for my men for so long. Thanks for making these!

Any ideas why the procedure described in the PDF to create a prop for delivering eyebrows with a newly created character won't work?

I've tried it a hundred times, but it definitely doesn't work as explained. When I import the previously exported eyebrows to attach them to the G8M, they are invisible, and the whole "hip" subtree is missing (which I assume causes the problem).

    Thanks for any help!

Hmm... not sure if it's related, but it looks like OBJ export seems to be broken in DS in general (I'm using the latest beta). No matter what the setting is, it always exports the UVs collapsed into one. That still used to work correctly a couple of weeks ago.

Hmm.  I have no idea what the lastest build is.  I try not to update too often on the newest build when I am working on things.  My version is 4.11.0.383.

With that said, I can not replicate the obj export import problem at all.

Sofax after reading your comment a second time, I wonder... If you reimport the brows, and shut off g8 male in the scene tab, are they brows visible?

Nope, there is only one single node with the complete subtree missing.

What was I thinking ... I shouldn't have used the beta for this job - looks like I'll have to redo some of the work. The morphs don't work in 4.11 either. :(

EDIT: I'll take that back, my morphs do work. I didn't have the G8M node selected. :)

  • The subtree part will only show once you have run transfer utility.  Did you run that already?

The eyebrows export doesn't work with DS 4.11 either. I checked the exported file in Blender, just to be sure - it's indeed just an empty vertex group. That's weird.

  • Wow.  Well I hope they get that fixed soon then.
