In he process of searching for something else Xurge related, I stumbled onto this thread. Wow. So wish I had found sooner. I actually purchased a few things twice because I needed them for commissions. Well, I have it now. Thanks folks!!!

Has anyone use any of Xurge products with Genesis figures?

I bought and used xurge content allthe  time. They also sell on rendo as Dariofish. It looks a bit dated to me now. But was cool in  the day.

I could be wrong but I believe Xurge and Dariofish are two different entities; I thought that Dariofish agreed to update some of Xurge's M4/V4 items to Genesis for a term, then the Dariofish items were removed from Xurge's site. I would expect that if they were the same person, the converted items would still be there.

As well, Dariofish has products here on DAZ.

Could be. I only know I've seen Items in both stores that came and went.

I've had some success using Genesis figures but the fitting process usually requires a lot of photoshop's puppet warp tool. I've even used this technique to fit to live models.   As seen here.  https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/40908755

The last time I checked, Xurge is selling at the Reallusion store. You'd have to send Genesis figures to iClone or Character Creator to use them, and once again, I found it more trouble than it was worth considering how much other stuff you have to buy for those programs in order to get results like we can in Studio.

Dariofish and Hellfish Studios are the same person. I'm almost certain he is not part of Xurge except his work with them for a brief period years ago.

Awesome photos. Loved them a lot. But not sure what relevance it has to Xurge armour and Genesis characters. That said, your photography is awesome.

    I almost forgot about XURGE3D!

Looks like I had one order from back in 2015 — 10 items for V4 and M4...

    Hope Sergio is doing OK.

Any other good supplier of ancient amrour, knight, gladiator, fantasy, etc?

Xurge has a 50% sale this month - well worth it if you've got Wear Them All and/or RSSY's Ultimate Clothing Fixer and don't mind adjusting the materials

I did use the paladin armor with Genesis 3 a while ago. I remember having problems with the shoulder plates in particular.

I miss Xurge's stuff. I used to absolutely love them for V4. I wouldn't touch V4 now with a ten foot pole. LOL

Xurge used to have some really sweet Genesis Wood Ranger Armor on their site which I bought and even made a custom texture for...before my computer crashed and I lost all files associated with it. TT^TT

I've been trying to get in contact w/ them to see if I can redownload it, but no response yet.  Here's a render of it.  I used the base texture or a texture expansion to create new textures in Iray (yay for metallic flakes and overlays!), which is why it looks...drastically different.  The skirt/long thing (forgot what it's called, sorry) I made using some merchant resources I bought from Renderosity.

First is the originals, last is mine.

Oh, and by the way, Hellfish/DarioFish / DarioFish is on Daz & Renderosity.  I never really used V4 or G2 all that much, but I gobbled up all his Genesis items, lol.

THANK YOU for the workaround!  I had to reset my password, but no biggie.  Main problem is the download links are broken... TT^TT

Thank you, you would be correct!  Here's his store there!

That site has a link to his Renderosity account, too, so I may try to contact him through that.

  • Vueiy, your texture work on the outfit is amazing. It really changes the use of the outfit. I fortunately bought that outfit before it was removed years ago. I think I also have a texture expansion for it too.

     Thanks~

Every time I look at a render I did of it, it makes me wanna cry b/c I lost those textures/settings...crying If I can manage to redownload it, I'd be happy to share...but if I can't, I'll probably just switch to some of Luthbel(ina?)'s armor and retexture that.  It's for illustrations for a novel I finished, so it has to be a bit more detailed in certain ways than most default sets provide.

That's odd, I just did the same this hour, I had my password reset and downloaded the 24 items I'd purchased without issue, the links worked perfectly for me.

If I had to guess, my problem stems from the fact that the items I bought are no longer available in the store.  I think they were made by (or converted to Genesis by) DarioFish, and none of his stuff is still on the site.  My guess is the downloads went with him.  I don't know how their business agreement was set up, but it's pretty sucky for people who paid for those items to no longer be able to access them b/c of some unknown issue between creators. frown

All of these were convered to Genesis 2, I've done nearly 30 without any problems. It's not that hard if you're good at rigging.

  • I wish this guy would create for the Genesis figure. I asked him years ago back when Genesis started to split from Poser and he indicated he wasn't interested. Might have been he didn't want the hassel of learning a new bone structure, learning Studio.  Most Poser creators were partial to their platform and were a bit miffed when DAZ kind of shut the door on their characters being able to work in Poser unless there was a plug-in that was a very long time in coming. But there have been several great merchants who have made the shift to Studio and are doing great.  I think DarioFish was converting some of his outfits into Genesis and selling them on Xurge's site. But that didn't last long. The man would make a killing if he'd get out of that V4 rut he's in. But we now have add-ons that will allow Genesis family to wear V4 stuff pretty well, we'll just have to mess with the textures and stuff.

If you bought the items at Daz, you can still access them even if Daz no longer sells them. They should still be in your product library with download links or through DIM. That is assuming there haven't been any errors on Daz's servers or in your account history. (For example, I still have access to Lisa's Botanicals and Moyra's texture sets, which haven't been sold here for years.)

Ah, I bet you're 100% correct. None of the items I'd purchaed were for Genesis. Thanks, I love when puzzles are solved.
