has anyone ever glossed their own paper? i got this idea in my head to do a partial gloss, so only the part of my print where i have, like, water is glossy and the rest matte
It might cause issues with uptake of ink on the differing surfaces (so the glossy bits might be a bit less saturated), and you'd need to print on a stock that could take it, and do it for every one.
Buuut it would work with some work. Some people do things on partially silvered paper.
i thought i might be able to do it after the print with something like Mod Podge Gloss, but different sources say different things in regards to before or after.
of course i could use clear sticky plastic, but hat seems kinda blah
You could do that too (I thought you meant making the paper glossy)!
Of course you'd still have to be careful how it interacts with the printing ink (so do the usual "test on an inconspicuous area" to check if it runs or goes generally weird)..
