    Hello,

I was wondering if this program was a worthwhile purchase if you already had the character facial morph dials.  To me it seems like it is just another randomizer program.  I guess I can see if if you don't have any morph controls and need to create a face quickly.   But what benefit would it have if you already have facial morphs?

In the above example that Artini posted, I don't see much, if anything going on.

Yes, the changes are very subtle. It looks like another set of morphs with randomize function and limited to Genesis 8 Female characters.

    Another trial:

    Hi! :)

That is one way of using the Face Generator. It includes 2 ways of use:

    - the icons that change a part of the face (eyes, nose, etc), and also an icon that changes the full face: when you use the icons, the changes in the face will be subtle. They are for making slight changes that usually will give beautiful features, not extreme ones. Sometimes we saw random face programs but they sometimes give ugly or monstruous results, so one year ago we started developing this program to get something really useful to get smooth and beautiful faces of people that you can find on the street. Also so you can create them by parts.

    - the other way is using the icon that says "! Custom", the Custom Generator. This is much more powerful. You can do subtle faces, but also more extreme faces. You can control how stronger the changes will be, and how complex.

The product includes a pdf file that explains how it works. We attach it here so you can read it.

The Custom Generator is not a random program:

    - It is divided in areas: for example you have a character whose eyes you don't want. You can change their eyes independently.

    - You can set 4 parameters for each zone (eyes, mouth, etc) that control how strong will be the major and detail features, and how much complex.

    - It is an artificial intelligence program that takes the parameters you enter, and creates a face with them, acording to some internal rules.

So it is only random in the way of creating different things each time, but it is controlled by you, and by the program itself.

    Hope this helps, guys! :)

You can use it for example:

    - you have a character and want to change one or several parts of the face because you want them to be different but keep the general shape. For example, change the eyes or the nose  only.

    - you want to use a skin and create a new face

    - you are putting several characters in a scene, and want faces for them that look realist. You can generate them easily.

These are only some examples of use. There may be lots.

I see. Keeping Simplicity low and Strength high give more changes,

but without changing underlying textures it will be hard for me to create more distinctive characters.

Anyhow another run with more extreme values on the Face.

    Anyho

If you keep a previous character to start with, the changes will accumulate to the face. You will see Alexandra, but a bit changed.

But you can try this: reset Genesis 8 to zero (you can use the menu "Edit / Figure / Zero / Zero Figure"). Then make a new face with the generator. This way you get more different faces.

Use all the parameters (eyes, nose, etc). You can re run in each part until you get what you like. If you didn't like how the nose looked, for example, you can zero it with the button "Zero Only This Part".

  • So if I'm understanding this correctly, it will take whatever character your using from the gene pool, and make modifications to that base character?

Yes that is one way of using it.

where do the morphs come from in this package?
Is it limited by inclusion of morphs or just used figure polygons to change shapes of parts?

The program uses internal morphs that it includes. You don't have or need anything else, just this product.

Using random movements for the polygons may generate absurd results. So instead of that, it uses very partial internal morphs and deals with them to make a face.

The Custom Generator mixes morphs in an intelligent way, to make a coherent face. It's an IA program, but works with what you set in the parameters.

It includes the resources it needs, the morphs, so you don't have to rely in morphs that won't work, or won't do what the program needs.

Alexandra 8 is a character who has already strong characteristics in shape and skin, imo it would be interesting to see two results which are both based on the G8F Base shape and skin....

What is the best way to save the created characters / face shapes?

You can save it as a shaping preset ("File / Save As / Shaping Preset")

  • Just purchased this and after spending a half hour I finaly found its location. I went to Smart Content/ shaping/ and found an icon labeled: "Run Custom Shape builder, EJEFG8F."

I clicked it and the tool graph apeared but seemed to have no interaction with the charactor I had chosen. I tried using the graph on a blank screen thinking maybe the program would create

the charactor. nothing. I then went to Library/ EmmaAnd Jordi/ --about four other folders labled "EJ /eas/Gene/ FE,"-- and found an icon that read "Install Menu EJEFG8F." ...nothing...I went looking and finally found the tutorial in documents but it only mirrored what was said in the advert. I hope you feel my frustration and I would apreciate any help I can get.

    thank you.

My program isnt interacting at all. It doesn’t seem to do anything.

Sure, we will do what we can to help you :)

Just to be sure, first do these steps:

    1- Install the product

    2- Close Daz Studio

    3- Open Daz Studio again

4- Add genesis 8 female to a new scene

5- SELECT genesis 8 female, and move the camera so you see the face

6- run the custom generator from its icon

Please do this and tell if it works, so we can find the problem or see if it works for you.

Now I can see its potential. Genesis 8 Female Basic with Simplicity set to 0 and various strength on different parts.

It is a powerfull package, especially if someone has no other morphs available.

    Hi EmmaAndJordi :)

Am a really big fan of your art-products heart and own many of them, including your Face and Body morph products.  Use them alot out of all the morphing packages, especially the face one.

How would you compare the potential output of this product vs the face-morph product? I tried to understand what the range of morph options are for say the eyes.  Have a specific unique look that am after.   That look still eludes me a bit even after using your G8F face morphs and a few from other packages, such as rarestone etc.

This product looks easier and more fun to play with!  Unlike the other morph sliders were you have to think more about how each small morph contributes to the whole look.  But it's very powerful i find.  But if this product contains more morph options or different morph options to create more options would love to know this.  Guess am trying to figure out how this differs in terms of potential end result vs your existing excellent morphs package, besides the usage which is a big selling feature, and could be very helpful to many who don't want to grind away with loads of of facial sliders.

Thank you for your comments and appreciation Saxa! :)

The morphs that you have can complement this product or vice versa. Maybe the best is to start with the Face Generator, because you just have to move the adjustments and click the buttons, until you like a part of the face. After that you may get a face that you like, that is very similar to the one you are looking for.

And then you can take our morphs or other morph packages that you have, and dial some to get it perfect.

That way it is easier to find a particular look, or may work also as a starting inspiration to get a face.

LOL, should almost start an EJ appreciation thread for alot of your stuff.  Not kidding when I say my eyes light up when I see you two released something new again.  Just need time which there never seems to be enough of.
