You know, what's cool is that you could do that as a room in a planetary outpost... which makes the shutters even more sensible.

Lots of options are great, right? :-D

This set is coming along quite nicely, I think. Will it all be a part of one package or sold individually? (Either way makes complete sense to me).

My only thought is that the cargo hold feels a little bit short compared to the meeting room, at least when comparing the people who are standing in the rooms. (Doesn't seem like it's as different from the bridge, though, at least from the angles we currently see).

It's not a big deal, and could easily have an explanation (Split rooms, different parts of a ship, less room due to ship components under the floor, etc), But it's something I noticed.

Might just be me though. Overall, this is looking really nice. :-)

Windows on a Starship don't make any sense. Should be replaced with large displays. A bridge would not likely be anywhere near the outer hull.

That wouldn't be much fun. A windowless bridge might as well be some planetside research station then :(

Besides, even modern warships tend to have a bridge near the outer hull. And another one deeper inside the vessel (or more, I bet carriers have 3-6 rooms designated for use as a bridge spread across the ship). Outside war situations and excercises, the outer bridge is generally the one used most, even if it's technically obsolete.

Yup, the windows also help as a backup in case all the systems that show what's going on outside go out of commission... since now at least they can look out a window to make sure they're not about to smack into something while they work to get the tactical displays back up and running again.

Auctally I am redoing the floor of the cargo bay a little bit. a little different texturing and also putting in a small transporter to beam in cargo. so I will update more images soon. :D Glad everone like it. :D

If possoble I would like to sell the set as a bundle and individual pieces as well. that way you can buy only want to want or all if you like. :)

The transporter beam could be a neat addition.

That would be excellent. I love the idea that it could be bundled or individual.

  • So here is the new floor design on the cargo bay and some updated images showing the transporter bay addon.

The new design looks great, but i would increase the size of the transporter room slightly to have enough room for the cargo. An optional transporter effect would be nice, too :)

  • Or better yet, have a selection of different sizes of transporter room and whatnot,

I tested the transporter room on each container and the containers do fit inside the transporter area, but there is little space for doing anything else, so yea I probably need to make it a bit bigger.

  • So it was a good idea. I incresed the size of the transporter room and pad. and also created one more unique container for the set. As well as a transporter beem effect.

The width of the room is now perfect. Could you increase the height of the room slightly, too?

The beam effect looks too well-ordered in my opinion. Could make it a bit more chaotic?

Auctally inside the transporter room the celing is higher. it is just the doorway that is a bit smaller. and here is a new revision of the beams. It is a bit difficult to get them more random, but i think it looks better.

Nice. I like the adjusted transporter room and the new effects.

Yep, they look better. Could you perhaps reduce the length of some beams to have many beam particles?

I'm sorry I dont quite understand what you are sugesting? You want some of the beams to be shorter so you can have more?

    Yep :)

  • So i decided to make 3 different Transporter Beam props to go along with the set. that way you can mix or chose what you like best. Also you can always motion blur on the transporting beams.

Wow ... Especially the 3rd and 4th picture looks amazing in my opinion!

I have another suggestion regarding the briefing room: If you add an optional 3d-printer / replicator to one of the short sides of the room it could be used as a canteen, too.

I have a question regarding the briefing room: Is it possible to hide the windows on both sides? I ask, because in that case the room could be used inside a huge ship.

Yes the windows are seperate textures so all you would do is turn off opacity of the texture and no windows. Also if you wanted to have the room inside a larger area, you could always just use the table and chair props for the other room.

  • So here is the replicator for creating food items in the briefing room, that way the briefing room doubles as the mess hall as well. I created a plate object and a few food objects that you can mix up to create different dishes, plus a spoon and fork.

The replicator and food options look great.

This is shaping up to be an excellent set.

Yep, this is one of the best sets i have seen here. Amazing work!

Would it be possible to change the texture of the replicator slightly? Especially the lower part looks currently more like a crate in my opinion. Perhaps you could remove the lower part and place the upper part inside the wall like a small version of your transporter.

Well currently it is a seperate prop so you can move it about the room where ever you want the replicator to be. I think that is best n my opinion. But Yes you are right about it looking more like a crate. I'll do something better about the texturing. :)

  • So here is the updated Replicator. It looks much better. :)

  • Ok so here is the next part of the set. It is the Shuttle Bay. Comes with the Bay plus a shuttle that has an interior as well so you can fly your characters around in the shuttle.

The shuttle bay has a controll station that can operate the forcefield as well as many other operations for lauching the shuttle.
