The new version of the replicator looks MUCH better. Could you perhaps remove the upper part with the four lights (it has no visible function in my opinion)?

The shuttle bay looks great, but i would remove the step between the bay and the control station, because the step would make it more difficult to move between both places. The pipe in the control station makes moving in the area more difficult, too. Perhaps it could be connected with the floor and not the wall.

Could you perhaps create an engine / reactor room, too?

  • So here is just a little view of the control station. I apologies for the other views before as it did not do it Justus. As you can see from these images, the control station has no steps inside and so there is no problum of moving about and it is quite roomy in my opinion.

Also about the Replicator, I will remove the top part as you requested and see if it looks better. :) About an Engine room or reactor room I will probably make another set and submit this set as valume 1.

  • I would still like to make an engine room, a hallway or corridor, a med bay and a living quarters for the starship lintier, but that can be in volume 2. :)

  • So here is the replicator and i created a meterial preset to turn off the top part. that way if someone wants the top part on, they can or off. I personally like it on myself but that way anyone can chose.

You are right, there is no step and there is a lot of room in the control station, but the pipe from the control panel into the wall looks really strange in my opinion. Perhaps you could replace the pipe and the current entrance with a bigger entrance and a body scanner to check if the shuttle passengers are carrying weapons.

The updated version of the replicator looks great. I am looking forward to the release of volume 1 and 2 of your set :)

Cool :) Could you perhaps change the texture of the walls to the texture of the cargo hold or the briefing room? I ask, because the tiles look more like a medical room in my opinion.

  • So I changed the wall texture as you sugested and it does look much better. Also I created a body scanner device that you can move around the room to scan passengers.

The shuttle bay looks amazing! Perhaps you could change the frame texture of the body scanner to look a little more metallic. If you could add two optional screens to the opposite wall of the force field the room would look less empty in my opinion.

Sweet. The updates to the replicator looks great.

Also, nicely done with the shuttle, too. The interior looks awesome. :-D

EDIT: Oh, hey... totally missed there was another page after the shuttle pictures.

I like having the top part of the replicator, but having the option to turn it on and off is nice. I like the control room and added body scanner, too.

Out of curiousity, any idea of the general amount of time it will take for Daz to look through the volume 1 submission?

Looks wonderful. Now we just need more rooms to fill out the ship over time!

  • Its not having or not having windows as far as I see it. Its how much open space there is.

I imagine space craft would be like all naval vessels every spare inch of space is used for something.

having a bridge where two, three or even four people could walk side by side would be silly.

In most cases people are sliding by the watch standers at their stations with very little spare room.

I know that most space ships are set to be huge but most of that space is taken up with equipment

to keep everyone safe or weapons. Cargo holds would be massive just for the fact that the time in

between stations would mean having to carry enough supplies to provide for the whole crew.

when I searved on board a US submarine every spare space was filled with cans or boxes of food stuff

to feed everyone for up to 90 days.

How cramped the spaceship is would depend on the story you want to tell with it. Early space exploration based on having long travel times and limited space per crew (like submarines)... having tiny walk space would completely make sense (and it shouldn't be too hard to add extra boxes and crates to fill that space and give it a more cramped, constricted feeling).

But if you want a more far-future, faster-than-light travel ship where travel is more like a cruise, but you still have to have some preparations for the dangers of space, then having a more roomy ship would make sense instead.

I like the versatility, personally. The way the design looks set up currently ought to allow for various situations, rather than limiting it for one or the other. :-)

I personally like the open space.  It makes it different than the others, in a good way.
