    Hi everyone,

Trying to create a set for an idea I had, but can't seem to find exactly what I'm looking for and thought this thread might be the place to ask. I want to create a TNG era crew quarters scene. I've found a couple of 'Quarters' type sets about, including the ones listed in the first page of the thread, but outfitting the room with appropriate TNG era furniture seems to be the hard bit.

Anyone know of a good stash of TNG furniture which they could direct me to?

I've completed the TNG Klingon rankpins for Poser....

TNG Klingon Rankpins are affixed to each collar of tunic/coat. where possible I try to identify the Federation equivilent and then the

Klingon name for the rank. The Fleet version is Gold on Black, and Marines are God on Red (attached) (Not bad for being constructed from primitives!)

    Fleet:
    -----
    E1 Warrior 2nd Class
    E2 Warrior 1st Class
    E3 Corporal
    E4 SGT
    O1 Ensign - Lagh
    O2 Lt JG - SoghHom
    O3 Lt - Sogh
O4 Lt Commander - La' Hom
    O5 Commander - La'
    O6 Captain - HoD
    O7 Fleet Captain - yo'Hod
A3 Vice Admiral - bing 'aj
    A4 Admiral - 'aj
    A5 Fleet Admiral - yo''aj

    Marine:
    ------
    E1 Warrior 2nd Class
    E2 Warrior 1st Class
    E3 Corporal
    E4 SGT
    O1 2nd Lt - Sogh cha'Dich
    O2 1st Lt - Sogh wa'Dich
    O3 Captain
    O4 Major
    O5 Lt Colonel
    O6 Colonel
    G1 Brigadier General 'ach
    G2 Major General - Sa'
    G3 Lt General

After some test renders and comments from friends, the inital STO rankpins I was working on were not effecive (i.e. "they stunk"),

it was agreed that Klingons deserve their own ranks and the TNG version seems to be worthwhile. I still want to try and do ranks

for the sashes and this is still inprogress. I have finished most sash decorations (honorifics, honor badges, etc.), overall I'm

pleased and will be including them in this set.

I also created a sash from the M4 Valiant Tabbard which will be included.

    Comments welcomed.

    Everything looks good.
One point to consider. The sash. The one Worf wore was almost twice as wide. Can the width of yours be adjusted?

    Okay. :-)

Here's the updated sash (50% wider is as much as I can go). I created several more variations, 2 in gold and one black. I'll keep the original as an enlisted or Junior Officer's sash.

Some of the new props, rankpin but not the sash, can be used by V4. Rank indicates she's a Lieutenant or Sogh, and displaying the Officer's medal.

This set is almost done, will be posted within a week. For those interested, I'll be providing the actually rank pins obj in the zip file.

After the Klingons, we now turn to the Romulans....

    Comments/feedback welcome!

    Russ

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------

    TNG Romulan Rank pins:

ROMULAN MILITARY (Pins are Silver is worn on Left Collar of Tunic)
    -------------------------------
    O1 - Uhlan (Legionaire)
    O2 - Sub-Lieutenant
    O3 - Lieutenant
    O4 - Centurion
    O5 - Sub-Commander
    O6 - Commander
    O7 - Admiral

ROMULAN "TAL SHIAR" (Intellegence/Secret Police) (Pins are Gold is worn on Left Collar of Tunic)
    -----------------------------------
    O1 - Uhlan (Legionaire)
    *O1A - Uhlan (Legionaire)
    O3 - Lieutenant
    O4 - Captain
    O5 - Major
    O6 - Colonel
    O7 - General

    * The Tal Shair does not have a O2 Sub-Lieutenant rank... The Uhlan supports this role.

    From the internet:

"The Romulan Rank System is less scaled than the Starfleet Rank system. e.g, they have no Sub Admiral's, (Commodore, Vice, Rear,

and Admiral) as in the Starfleet Rank system. Any Officer who reaches the Rank of Admiral in the Romulan Empire is give the task of

commanding a Military area of the Romulan Star Empire, and is the leading military officer in that region. Similarly, the Romulans have no

rank of Lt. Cdr this is because Centurions are the backbone of the Romulan Fleet and only the lucky individual's who have proven there

leadership and command skills are promoted to Sub-Cdr, with no intermittent stage in between as in Starfleet.. "

"Officers subordinate to the Sub-Commander have the rank of Centurion. Below the centurions are Lieutenants and Sub-Lieutenants, who

are basically junior officers. Legionnaires do the dirty work aboard Romulan ships. Legionnaires, also known as Uhlans, are comparable

to the enlisted personnel in Starfleet. Cadets known as Tirones also serve aboard Romulan vessels."

Also, I wanted to let you guys know, I wasn't ignoring you, or anything. The apartment bldg where I live, the guy who was responsible for the internet and the tv service either quit, or got fired just before the July 4 holiday weekend, and we've been without internet (and tv) since. Luckily we got our internet back today, but the tv is still out. (Waaaaa!!!)

All that to say, I'm back. LOL.

    WIP------- almost readly.....

    Klingon Division Pins:

While doing research to create a Klingon uniform (for M4 and V4 bodysuit) for a possible new freebie, I wanted to know how the Divisions (ie Science, Engineering, Security, Tactical, etc.) are identified. Federation uses a color code but an internet site I found describes the Klingons as using pin simular to the rankpin. This is worn on the left collar of the unifrom.

"Klingon uniforms carry insignia denoting rank. Unlike Federation uniforms, however, one cannot always tell duty assignment. Some vessels do have official insignia for the vessel, usually because of some special distinction earned in combat. Many ship captains have unofficial ship insignia that the crew wears. The Klingons are very lenient about the use of these as they consider it promoting crew unity and morale."

"Rank insignia is worn in the form of a brass circular badge on the left collar. The insignia on the right collar is where distinctive insignia (such as vessel assignment) is worn. This is also usually a circular brass device. (I've actually seen picture supporting this) This collar device is the only clue to rank. Most of the position (remember all the admirals) do not have distinctive insignia as all Klingons assigned to a vessel or base are expected to know their superiors on sight."

I was able to create the appropriate Division (vessal assignment) pins for my Rankpins in my Klingon Combadge and Rankpin freebie:
    http://www.sharecg.com/v/76734/browse/11/Poser/Star-Trek-Klingon-Rankpins-and-Combadge-M4V4

For those interested, I am providing in a ZIP file the actual Klingon Division pin objs.

Divisions (inorder top down, left to right.
    -------
    Fleet
    High Command
    Marines
    Imperial Guard
    Intelligence
    Communications
    Support Services
    Navigation
    Weapons
    Engineering
    TacticalSecurity
Borelhngan Ra' <<- not able to find out what this is...<br /> Science

If you prefer to use the ranks on both collars, keep doing so. as Klingons indicated above are lenient with this insignia.

This will be an optional add-on.

Working on the following uniforms, inspired by the Star Trek Final Frontiers (animated) uniform and the Jupiter jacket from Star Trek Online, I created 2 sets, one a short jacket and a TNG-ish top.. This'll be a 26th century uniform.

Images from the "Final Frontier" animated uniform showed a larger rank strips on the right shoulder then the typical TNG pips. So I am using a variation of my Rankpins, just 200% to the ZScale and reparented at an angle. I'll provide this as a prop in this set, you'll need my "STO Combadge and rankpins" set for the mats.

    Comments welcome...

I've corrected an issue with the STO5 V4 Bodysuit with the TransMap file, you can re-download for this fix.

Here's the redone STTOS uniform for bodysuits...

I gave M4 the "Final Frontier alt" of my combadge (ie 200% of zscale). V4 gets two versions, the turtleneck version and the big neck alternative. So if I get enough interest, I'll post it.

I love these looks! I hope that you do post them! The leotard look looks cool and is a freh idea for a Trek uniform especially if you were to lower the transparency on the black legs to look more like pantyhose.

Not a bad idea... how's this look, plus other variations...

You can still use the leotard for no legs look.

I like that look, it gives that outfit more of a finished look than just the black legs, but thats just me.
