    shinybikiniobia.......

It's going to be about two phobias. The first one is going to be, Caligynephobia – Fear of beautiful women.

The other one is going to be a fear of a certain kind of dream peculiar to men- especially young men. I'll leave it there for now, as I have a horrible pun for the title. ;-)

That represents well the idea of Europeans about the Americans, after having seen the news…
    Very nice job !

Varsel, the second appears even more realistic, and moreover, there are some poses in the pack.
    Thank you !

Here is what I think will be my second entry. We'll see if it gets yanked. ;-)

    The two phobias are:
Caligynephobia – Fear of beautiful women and,

Oneirogmophobia – Fear of wet dreams.

    Hilarious! Disturbing...yet, oddly educational...

Oneirogmophobia – Fear of wet dreams.

Too funny, Should have a render contest just on this topic!! Can imagine what kind of renders would be entered.

    That's too disturbing to contemplate!

Time for a second preview of my work.

The doors of my first post were in a numbered sequence, as you have probably guessed. The camera aims to door #13, but its number is unreadable: number 13 does not appear explicitly in the scene.
I think my movie as a thriller, I want a clean poster that focus on few subjects, so the final result will be mostly empty. I used no reflective shaders, because they would reflect noting and they would be rendered black. I used default Carrara materials as base, modified for the needs of this particular render.
Such a scene is fake, so I could not use conventional lighting. A spot light is for the doors only, another spot light is dedicated to the beam out of door #13, not really a beam but a flat vertex object. All lights have a falloff, so all objects fade to darkness.
The camera has a bank for a more disturbing point of view.

Next step is to add a human figure to the scene. Stay tuned!

Oh, and MERRY CHRISTMAS TO EVERYBODY! :-)

Trying to make a decsision but I'm affraid I can't decide so I may try...Decidophobia – fear of making decisions.
Possibly Picture actor at his computer trying to decide which of his hundreds of figures to use in the render. Thirty or fourty Vickeys standing around waiting to be chosen.

a quick peek in to see some great WIPs and thoughts..

... now back to lollies, trifle and soon lunch ;-)

I may get around to some WIP posting today. But I'm really worried that I might not make the contest deadline if these don't work out as I envision.

Well, live and learn just the same...this has been an interesting project for me no matter what happens.

Most of this work has been done in LightWave (cheating? ;) ). I modeled just one side of the clock tower and the duplicated it around; obviously I have fit the pieces together very well here.

There is font modeling with the clock face numbers. I'll end up with Victoria hanging from the minute hand and a camera angle to emphasize the height.

I'm kinda happy with the model itself but my texturing and shading skills suck out loud.

Here is some detail on the clock face itself. There are a lot of polygons on this part of the model. One big mistake that I made is the numerals. I should have just used one each of I, V and X and then duplicated them as necessary.

It is my extrem arachnophobia and the film “the fly” which make me think of this.

    Nice poster! But...

Rule...."I have prepared a list for you to choose from as a guide to get you started, you can use any phobia you have heard of that has been documented. When you submit your final entry make it known what the phobia/phobias is you have used please."

I've streatched the rules once already, so gonna have to say no! sorry. I googled it and all I got was some pop group.
What the heck is a "stickman"?

I was really trying to stick with the "traditional" phobias with this one, that is what the initial list was for, but I expanded it to include documented phobias .
If I expand any further there will be no point to it!

    Here is a good guide

    Stop Press

Maybe it could be Demonophobia or Daemonophobia- Fear of demons? Possibly a bit tenuous?
When I open the final entry thread, you can of course enter what ever you like . But dont forget ,hopefully people voting will take into account the rules I set and vote accordingly....
