My render with the new Fanime Gal. Niiiiceee sales incentives for previous purchases although the freebies only got to the $50 mark for me as opposed to the $70 mentioned in the email. Still enough to get my buy though I reckon.
Meh. Another "Quasi-base" figure for G8F. So this is what we've sunk to. Do we really need so many "young anime-esque girl" base figures?

I did this setup because the eyebrows were 100% whoa.
Like retro Brooke Shields eyebrows! So I had to see what a more supermodel-ish look would do for her.
This is 25% ChrystalAnn, 50% Eva 8, 25% Victoria 8. I dialed up the nose because I always adjust the nose.
First, when ChystalAnn loads in. Big ol'... ugly bags of mostly water. (Ha Star Trek reference.) Bigger than Kanade 8, if that matters.
The skin is neat. Good stuff for more realistic figures - plenty of details and flaws. The mole on the face is what got me.
Makeup options are more fantasy than kawaii style. She's maybe not 100% suited for Kanade that way, but whatever.
There are tattoo options!
(I think I will just leave the image as an attachment and not blow it up. She has her bits all covered, but she's not wearing a whole lot...)

I'm a bit late to the thread- been in the midst of moving and packing and unpacking chaos (landlord abruptly told us he was selling our place and we had to move, so we just finished moving). I always work hard on the 3dl mats to get them as close as possible to match the Iray mats (not always possible to be exact but I try) though I'm not as proficient in 3dl rendering anymore.
This is a 3delight render of Hana and one of the 3dl shaders for the hair, I'm sorry i can't remember if it was the AoA shader or the omni shader one.... think i used the light set from skinbuilder because it's a good general lightset for testing, maybe added extra specular or something. Made it back when I was testing the 3dl materials. No idea what shader I used on the bow on shirt, ha.
And also earlier had done a test that combined Kanade/Hana with Zev's growing up morphs to make an adorable cutie.... because, well... cute. She makes an adorable kid.

She's lovely @DisparateDreamer andt thank you for showing us the 3DL version. It's really useful because I work with both 3DL and Iray due to the limitations of my Mac. She's on my wishlist because I simply don't have the funds to get Kanade at the moment. Though I'm very tempted to pick her up on her own!
Yeah, kicking myself for not getting her (Hana) right off the bat with the extra discount.... Boo..... Well into the cart she goes.
I've spent so much money the past couple of days. I've only just started to play around with Kanade and her related content, but I do feel it's quite unique in its esthetic. (I do own a number of anime-style G8 girls).I hope there are lots more related items to come!
Anyone thinking of doing some hanbok? I'd love to see some traditional as well as modern versions.

I was confused about the hair shaders that came with Hana, and finally figured it out. I am slow somedays. But had to try them right away. So the result is Hana, in AprilYSH's https://www.daz3d.com/caleela-hair-for-genesis-3--8-females and P3Design's https://www.daz3d.com/dforce-p3d-ibiza-dress-for-genesis-8-females outfit. I used two of the shaders, numbers 03 and 04 on the different hairs. And used the option for the dress to change its color to a turquoise, I had missed that in the promo. Nice surprise. Her expression was from EmmaAndJordi's https://www.daz3d.com/mixable-expressions-for-kanade-8-and-genesis-8-females number 12, Meditation at 20%.

Often, I am scanning the forums on my iPhone, and totally forget to say when I admire a posted image later on my desktop. So, catching up, @talidesade, @Divamakeup, @brimstoneomega, @The Blurst of Times, @Greybro, @valzheimer, and @DisparateDreamer I totally enjoyed your collected renders of the characters. They just make me want to do more.
@Summerhorse, I had done a render of https://www.daz3d.com/qx-aki-for-kanade-8, and was going to post it. Saw your request, uploaded the character, dialed out Kanade 8, and the character didn't seem to change that much! I still rendered her, then I checked again, she was dialed out, so I dialed her back in and the body and face changed totally from the previous day and I even had to adjust the pose of the hand. I am posting the three renders. The one in the sci-fi scene is the previous one. The one with the scarf laying on the shoulder and arm correctly is without Kanade 8, as it was dForced. And the last is after Kanade 8 was dialed in, and I fixed the left hand on the pot, but left the scarf alone, so it is not laying correctly.
I would like to say, with or without Kanade 8, this is a very interesting character. She has a strong, no-nonsense feeling about her.

I closed DAZ Studio, rebooted my system, reopened and loaded Aki again. My apologize, I dialed Kanade 8's head in at a full 100%, not the 75% she should be at.

Can't agree more. It's getting pretty frustrating lately with how many characters have stuff in the pics that's not in the bundle. Even worse when they don't even list the other items at all. It's especially egregious here because this character really isnt anything special. So you're buying the bundle for the extras. I wish they would make more unique or "average" looking characters. There's so many different face types in the world and its like they only make a variation of 4 or 5.
you missed the part where the creator of Kanade said they were working on the male. ;) We're all looking forward to it too.
Ziatonic, it's already been said- PAs who make characters don't get access to all the bundle clothes and extras, we have to use to what we have in our own promos. Part of the promos is giving inspiration to how the characters MIGHT be used so we use our imagination and whatever we have in our runtime, from wherever. whenever.
To me it’s more interesting and inspiring to see a character shown off with many different hair/clothes/etc. so you can see more possibilities for it. And since PAs don’t get access or even a sneak peak of what might be in character bundles, it’s always a fun surprise to see what the bundles contain. Many PAs always try to list what other products they use in their promos so that information is included on the store page and can help people locate those other items.
I think it's that a lot of other users treat bundles as assets and poses for only that character that they come bundled with. I think it was in the Elios 8 thread that someone was saying they couldn't use him because they don't do fantasy. Not like they could get Elios and dress him up from the normal clothing in the Owen, Lucas, or Darius bundles, for example.
The only disappointing part about asking for items is finding out they're discontinued but I think that's just a minor problem.
I agree. If the PA's are having to use things from their own 'closet', and they list it as what they used in the promos, I'm always disappointed when I follow the link and get the 404 page.
I must admit Kitty is one of my favorite ones. I love Elianeck chracters. Her promos make me want her charcters even more.
I decided that even if I haven't got the budget for Kinade at the moment that I'd get Hana anyway and I bought her this afternoon. I love the work you've put into her @DisparateDreamer. The 3DL textures are stunning. Because I don't have Kanade, I've morphed her with Lara and Aiko 8 plus some tweeking with Rarestone's Girl 8 morphs. I did this rather quickly just to see what I could produce. This is the resulting figure rendered in 3DL using IBL Master and lights from Skin Builder.
