  • The doohickey thingy is green followed by a serial number that ends in xxx's folled by a black check mark and a cart. Clicking on the cart sends me to the product page which says "Purchased."

    Which appears to indicate that no the serial number was not entered. Copy/paste just the serial key [no spaces before/after] into that slot that has xxx's. The check mark goes green if I recall correctly. Then close and open D/S., the plug-in would then appear as the image shows, with no slots.

    I have the exact same problem. I tried to install the MS Visual 2015, but it fails says I have a newer version. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling DAZ Studio, still no help.

    I opened a ticket with DAZ tech support - so far just asked me to do all the stuff suggested in this Forum thread, which I have already done.
    However, I installed a temporary DAZ Studio on another Win10 machine and the Evaluation version of  Face Transfer works just fine on this machine.  Also there is no Visual Studio 2015 on this computer either, only newer ones. I sent Tech suupport a list of all the Visual Studios on my main computer as well as the one with the temp setup of DAZ Studio. They have not  replied back after that exchange.

    You are assuming that I had purchased Face Transfer Unlimited, but I'm simply trying to use the Free Evaluation Version - it works on the temp install on another computer.  There is no point in purchasing it, until I can get the Free version working. If the Free version does not work, I assume the paid will not either - but I may be wrong. Nevertheless I don't plan to purchase and then have to wait a month or more to be able to use it.

    I would if you were also getting that message about having already purchased it. But since you haven't, I agree, I certainly wouldn't buy it knowing that it isn't working on the desired system. Paying for it would not make it work.

    Since the Face Transfer price dropped by 50% the other day I purchased it, thinking I would enjoy using it once the problem was solved. Tech support was not able to come up with a solution other than what had been suggested in this forum thread.

    To my amazement as soon as I entered  the license key, Face Transfer was licensed and it showed up on the main menu. It works.

    So, here's the inescapable conclusion:

    The reason it cannot be used in the FREE mode has nothing to do with any copy of Visual Studio, as I have guessed from my own experience. In fact it was disabled in trial mode only. No incompatibility - I had not loaded any software, just the purchased license key.

    I'm told that this can happen due to a permissions issue, or anything else that intrferes with the system used to track the number of uses. As a protection, if DS can't update the trails remaining it invalidates the trial process so something that interfered with that (such as access permissions) could well block the feature.

  • I purchased and was using Face Transfer perfectly from day one and suddenly maybe a 2 or 3 days ago (can't remember exactly the last successful usage) I started getting the "face transfer failed to generate" error message with every new picture I try. It was processing pretty much almost any picture I threw at it. I was getting some nice results and now it won't work. It's got me very frustrated to say the least.

    The error log says "ItSeez returned an error code of 13" before the "failed to generate" part. I believe I had Visual Studio 2015 already installed before I started using Face Transfer. I am running DS 4.12.0.86 version. I tried installing the Visual Studio installation file suggested and linked on another thread about this problem and I got error 0x80070666 (another version of this product is already installed) which leaves me confused because I don't know which version is newer. Also according to the previous comments on this thread Visual Studio might have nothing to do with this Face Transfer ruining issue.

    I'm running Windows 10 Home Version 1903 and recently had some security updates and such installed but I don't remember what they were. That's the only thing I can think of that might have affected Face Transfer if it is related at all to an OS permissions issue.

    Despite reinstall of Genesis 8 Essentials, the tool said it "cannot load the base material". What exactly is it trying to apply? Furthermore, can anyone say, how to make the tool use a custom skin to blend into? It seems the built-in G8F template has baked eyebrows which partially appear on the generated textures?

    Reinstall or redownload and install?
