    Yeah I had an issue, after using that tool, which messed up the teeth on all my G8 characters...I found that Some Realistic Mouth morph was being set to 100%...

    I have to manually look for it all the time now...

    Easy to fix. Remove the morph or edit the DUF file by replacing the ID.

    This fixed my G3F duplicate formula error. took two minutes to load.  I added a '2' to the end of the property ID, making it 'lashs2.dsf'

    Now i need to figure out how to get G8F to take two minutes.

    No you don't. Do the following exactly and you won't have to worry about it ever again- i've had to fix several files like that.

    1. Find the offending morph via file explorer. keep that window open.

    2. Open Daz studio up.

    3. Go to Windows > Panels > batch convert.

    4. drag and rop that morphs file into the batch convert window. make sure DUF | DSF compression is set to uncompress. make sure DS | DSA | DSB Conversion is set to Convert DS[A] to DSB & DSB to DSA

    5. click apply.

    6. Go back to your file explorer window and right click on the morph file.

    7. open with notepad.

    8. find the following:

    "name" : "Value",
                    "label" : "Lashes",
                    "auto_follow" : true,
                    "value" : X,
                    "min" : 0,
                    "max" : 1,

    9. notice my "Value" : X.  the offending morph will likely have it set to '1'. change it to 0 and save.  offending morph neutralized.

    I've had to do this to several full body morphs- daz studio and renderosity alike. most will say just re-download the file and it will be fixed, but some authors don't fix the error, this guarantees it's fixed, because if the author does fix the file, this is what they'll do.

  • It's the property name, which seems to be what I said. "As a result when Daz loads both it is asked to create, and then to llink, two ctrldaphne sliders with two FHMdaphne sliders and doesn't know what to do. "

    Nope- that doesn't specify the name...

    Installing either without the other will not generate an error, it's only when both are installed that there is a name conflict and an error is reported.

    Yes, if two different characters each create a ctrldaphne slider then having either one installed and not the other will not produce a coflict, having both installed will. In fact, of course, the .dsf file usually does have the same ane as the property - but it's the property names that matter.

    Moving on...

    But the daphne issue was; it got installed in two different locations- one of which was completely false.

    I'll look at the original install- I don't like changing file paths with morphs. I only do that for the content library b/c some author pathways make no sense.

    No, don't mis-quote me. They are two entirely different files in two entirely different folders. I don't reorder items in the content/data folder unless absolutely necessary.  It's the files in the content library within daz studio- content/people/genesis X/character/  that i re-organize because some vendors have obscure file structures that don't make any sense.

    But of course, I'll be the one blamed for all this, because what do I know- I'm only the end user.

    It's amazing how much actually goes over your head.

    Such as? It certainly looks as if one of us has the wrong end of the stick, but I'm not convinced it's me. Let me try explaing things again and either you will see what I mean or you willl see where I am misunderstanding.

    1. A formula links (usually) two properties - for example a full body controlller might be linked, by separate formulae, to the head morph and the body morph. These links refer to the property names to establish what needs linking to (the link is stored with one of the properties in its .dsf file)
    2. If two different proeprties use the same name then DS is going to be confused - the .dsf for the proeprty will usually have the name of the property, but it's the property name that matters.
    3. If two different proerpties with the same name each have a formula linking to a second proeprty, both using the same name for the target (whether that means there are another two properties using the same name, as I suspect is the case with your Daphnes, or both linking to the same proeprty (as, for example, with experssion correction morphs having a link to the expression they correct) then that is a duplicate formula issue.

    Duplicate formulae have nothing to do with duplication of a single file, nor inherently with two different files having the same name. It can happen within a single morph if ERC Freeze is run twice in succession, but usually it happens when two differnt artists use the same name for at least one property and both proeprties link (as controller or sub-component) to identically named targets.
