The hard drive I have all my sorted/stored content on it crashed...but not before I made a back up for it...the problem is the drive that has the back up is inaccessible right now (in a machine with a dead power supply), so I wasn't sure of the 'when' it was...just recently...that it was newer than Gnomie Buns and wasn't last Christmas.

Yeah Gnomie buns was a year before that, I think.. old enough that I don't have the raw files in my work folder.

Thanks to everyone that gave me links to content and especially Maclean for creating such awesome products like Home One and Room Creator!

I am firmly underway in the pre-production process and I can't work fast enough! LOL

For those interested in my offer of a special thanks in the end credits of our film for helping out with locating some of this great content, please PM so I can get your info.

    Thanks!

So does anyone know if there is a way to deform a dress not on an actual character? So for example, if I wanted to have a dress lay on a bed and look realistic with no figure inside.

    Thanks.

It depends on how the dress is made, but the best way would be to use a DFormer on it. If it has enough polys in the correct place, it should bend. First, use Zscale to flatten it, then add a DFormer and mess around till you get it right.

Hey Maclean, Thanks for this info. So far I have checked two different dresses and neither have Zscale only Scale. I also don't see anything in morphs for DFormer.

    Is DFormer a plugin?

    Thanks.

Show hidden properties in the pull down corner menu on the parameters tab to see the zscale.

DForms are DS' version of magnets, you load one by clicking the little icon on one of the tool bars. Please read the documentation on how to use them, it's a bit too involved to just explain here in type.

Iggy made a video tutorial https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GoGqfV8E7Co
If you prefer written instructions there is an entry in the pdf that comes with DS.

Thanks, Fisty. That's what I would have said.

The only thing I can add about Dformers is that you'll want to position it on the part of the dress you want to bend, then use the X or Z rotate on the DFormer to make the bend. Once you've done that. you can make it into a morph for that dress.
