Looking for G8M pants with unzip fly morph

in The Commons
Hi, all!
I'm looking for a pair of pants, preferably slacks, for Genesis 8 male that can be unzipped without undoing the top button. I've found a few that can be completely opened, but not one with just the fly.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

That is an interesting need. I'm curious to see if anyone can suggest something that fits the bill.
Unfortunately, nothing comes to mind, though, if you have any pants with an open morph, you could always select the part of the mesh you want to affect and move it with a dformer (or dforce animated simulation with a weight map that excludes the button). As long as the mesh allows for unzipping, it shouldn't be too hard.
Never seen long pants that can do that. Only clothing, that I know of, that has an open-able fly are these boxers https://www.daz3d.com/simply-casual-boxers-and-shirts-for-genesis-2-male-s
JeanZ by the 3DWizard ( https://www.daz3d.com/jeanz-for-genesis-3/ )for G3M has belt undone, pull down and unzip morphs. I realize that you are asking for G8M pants, but DAZ Studio will allow you to use these on G8M using the automagic script (or whatever it is) when you fit to G8M.
he's got flies in his pants?
i remember one for m4 on the rosty. cant remember what it was called tho. coging brain, but it wont come out
Autofit WILL NOT obliterate the custom morphs, what made you think it would? All the morphs are retained. It is only the custom bones that are lost, and I doubt a pair of jeans will have any of those.
I don’t know if this will work or not for your needs. I don’t have it yet so I can’t say if it is unbuttoned and unzipped, but it lists 3 different unzip morphs. It was on sale for $2 yesterday with double loyalty discount. Today it is $3.49 with discount. May be even cheaper in a few days with some other sales promotion.

When I had access to ZBrush there was an easy way of moving one part of a garment without moving the surrounding mesh at the same time. I think it was called Topological Move. I have not figured a way to do that in Blender but I don't think there is an equivalent brush. So what I am saying is that opening a fly (or a pocket or a neck collar) would be easy in ZBrush but I have not been very successful in Blender. Maybe Hex has something similar?
In blender using a soft selection could be useful like the move topological is. Not exactly the same, but useful for that sort of situation.
The JeanZ do not have the specific morph described above were you unzip without undoing the top button. I am in the process of converting the JeanZ to G8 (female and male). While the auto-fit works pretty well is does't work to my satisfaction. I will see about adding this type of morph.
Cheers!
You could do this on any trousers with decent mesh resolution by using the geometry editor to remove a vertical line of polygons down the fly, then use deformers to shift the vertices on either side.
XYZ - examine your zipper :D
With or without dForce?
BTW - your JeanZ are always a must buy for me.
I am adding dForce and RealFit to the G8 versions. However everything will be there so they look great without using dForce, but the dForce will be there if you want it.
Thanks for the support!
Thanks for your update.
One thing I always noticed about the morphs - and this is not exclusive to your products by any means - is that when morphs are used in combination, they tend to become extreme. So a simple fold down of the front waist area becomes a huge flap of cloth reaching the knees or beyond. Have you found a way of restricting this mesh stretching or is that just an inevitable consequence? I had similar problems with the Hongyu bikini strings and again with some ribbon hair morphs used in combination (hair mesh becomes freakishly expanded).
Dzheng at rendo has lots of morphs in his outfits for men. Perhaps one of those might work.
Morphs are simple in that they move a vertex in a liner direction. The results are cumulative so mixing them can produce strange results.
I feel like I kinda hi-jacked your thread. So to make up for it here is a morph for you to try on the G3M JeanZ. Hope it works for you.
Cheers!
Indeed, mixing morphs does do that. I have quite a few Nirvy dForce garments and he/she (?) mixes dForce and morphs quite successfully. That's why I asked earlier about whether you are including dForce this time around.
Any chance of finding it on the install manager?
OK, I know what I am going to get myself for Christmas.
On ROS look up...

Um. Thank you? Your post is somewhat lacking in actual words, but I choose to beleive you're trying to be helpful, so thank you for the impulse.
Dzeng's store had already been linked. I didn't know about the Disciple3D set, but that's fairly clearly exactly not what I'm looking for. It's the same type of movement as the Jeanz set: morphs that let one simulate taking one's trousers off. What I was looking for was a morph that let one simulate only undoing the fly, without undoing the button - as if one were stepping up to a urinal, or behind a tree, and preparing to to pump ship.
From the looks of the images, the Aeon Soul set, which I also didn't know about, is the same.
The3dwizard was kind enough to attempt to implement my request for Jeanz, but alas the mesh's origins as women's pants meant their attempt was unsuccessful - the zipper doesn't come down far enough. (This is true of actual women's jeans as well; there was one time when I had to borrow a pear from my then-wife, and I discovered I couldn't get my tackle out without taking the pants off. And not because they were too small, we were almost exactly the same size and she didn't wear hip-huggers.)
As for the links to the dForce tutorial and the clothes converter, I'm not sure what you're suggesting there, but on the face of it they seem entirely irrelevant.
Still, I'd more-or-less forgotten about Dzeng. And while at the time I made this post I wasn't willing to blow 15$ (after conversion - I'm Canadian) on experimenting (especially as based onthe promos those pants also don't have the kind of morph I need), right now they're on sale, so it's a good moment to be reminded of them.
This one unzips with dforce.

And again I have to say "Thank you for trying to help, but that is exactly the wrong thing."
Once more: my search is for a pair of men's trousers that have a morph to unzip only the fly. The waistband button stays done up, the pants stay around his waist. Imagine you've just walked up to a urinal in a public washroom, and need to "unlimber your weapon." You don't take your pants off, you just undo the zipper.
Still, I don't mean to sound ungrateful for your helpful impulse. Almost a year later, and I'm still making do (not that I need this often!) with a mesh made for Michael 3, so anything that might further this search is welcome.
Stay safe!
