Some of my work.
Images removed for nudity. Please see this thread for info: http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/3279_98/
I thought I'd used that morph. Apparently not. I'll work on it a bit more later.
EDIT: Turns out I had used that morph. It doesn't show up in Iray, for some reason. Maybe, if there are transmaps on the plug, they interfere somehow?
Weirdly, looking at the file, his eyes actually ARE brown. Apparently there's some weird reflection thing going on there. Since the only thing in front of him is a mesh light at 6500 degrees K, I think his eye surface is picking up the floor color; it's polished blue tile. Have to change that out.
I've had some weird results with default Iray optimized skin irises.
What I'm finding is that you're better off putting another copy of the diffuse map into glossy color -- the diffuse (base color) has a medium gray, the glossy has white, and so gloss shows up brighter, rather than hazy white.
I'll give that a shot. I did a quickie image, swapping out the set, before I headed out to work, and it turned out that no matter what I did, his eyes were reflecting blue, even when there was no blue anywhere in scene.
Attempting to make palm'n'sole masks for the new G3f UV -- just enough done so far to test the not-blurred-yet vector shapes . . . gotta say, this UV layout's been a lot easier to work with than any of the G2s, G1s, or Mil4s, on which my attempts failed miserably. :red:
I'll probably have a render done tomorrow or Thursday night. Wish me luck!
Any chance you might be able to share the masks on your dA page, if they work out? I can do it on Mil4-G2F manually, but if a pre-existing texture with the right UVs doesn't exist to mask in (hello, Base Female and V5!), it's ... painful. Very very painful. Like an average 6-10 hours of work painful.
Any chance you might be able to share the masks on your dA page, if they work out? . . .
Yep, planning on putting 'em on on ShareCG and dA both. That'll be my final blurred masks as jpgs, the non-blurred masks as pngs in case anybody wants to try a different blur, and the vector shapes as svgs for people who want to change where the edges are.
There are still gonna be issues -- I'm working directly off the arm & leg textures in Inkscape and GIMP, so I mostly can't let the blurring cross the texture's seamlines even if it should. And I'm eyeballing this without one of SnowSultan's helpful seam guides. But this UV's laid out so rationally that it only happens once per appendage, so I'm pretty confident this'll come out reasonably good.
Really hope that works out.
Slow going but I updated the list again. I've got varying thoughts on G3F that I'm still trying to fully process before I give feedback.
An iRay version of an image in my gallery. This image is the raw render with the backdrop and copyright notice composited in. The image in the gallery is 3Delight post-worked in Photoshop.
Ja Rel Sustormer and the Solar Guard of Pral Noctic
Ran out of time -- I'm going to be away from my rendering computer for a couple weeks so I won't be able to do anymore on this till then. I've put what I've done so far up here -- The zipfile contains vector files (svg, Inkscape with a Mask layer for the shapes and a Texture layer to import a reference texture), png masks ready for blurring, and some info/example pngs. Feel free to work up and redistribute the masks, this is under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 Intl License.

Hello, I've made a couple of Black characters. I plan to make a lot more if there's interest.

I notice you have a number of similar(?) morphs on your dA page. Any particular reason for splitting them up?
If I'm understanding you correctly, it's just multiple angles of the same morphs. There's only 2 characters for Darius and 1 for Michael at the moment.

G2F with a mix of Cara HD morph from Raiya, Genesis 3 Female and V7 transferred via Transfer utiliy, and a custom faceshape. Rendered in Daz Studio 4.8/Iray. Postwork in GIMP.
"A Love Remembered"
ZamuelNow, you might want to give it a week or so to see if they can actually fix the forums properly. There's also a sticky note about all images posted after 7/7 being lost. Tjohn, you may be able to edit your post.
Better now?
Great render! Love it! Which texture did you use?
Fabulous!
Thank you both and that is

Both Shaneka's skin and morphs.
I have her, I should have recognized her. lol.
3Delight or Iray?
Iray.
Yes, it's showing up now.
Updated the list since it looks like we've gotten the first black G3F character: http://www.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/adrienne-for-g3f/110702/
Here are a bunch of test images that I did a long time ago, when I was testing some pre-release products. I actually really like the way some of these character studies look, but because my content directories have gone out of sync with the way they were then, I can't reload the scene files and re-render them at full resolution. Rats.
And here are a couple more that I found.
I picked up The Temple of Mars on sale, so I just had to do something with it. There's another version of this in my DA gallery, and a story to go with it. Larger version of this in my DAZ gallery.
Title: No chains can hold her
I am thinking of trying to make a black character for G3F. Does anyone have any tips?
Assuming the G3 morphs are like G2, should be able to tweak the facial features.
As for skin, if you are happy with a somewhat mixed heritage (like in Europe or the US), adding a low saturation brown to base color might get you most of the way there.
